  1. IFE system takes up space and incurs weight penalty, and ATR72 does not have much leeway for either. ATR only offers mainscreen IFE, instead of personal IFE similar to MASWing's: http://www.atraircraft.com/products/atr-600-series.html
  2. This is getting interesting by the minute...They sure are closing in AirAsia group's turf.
  3. Fox News has much, much more credibility and integrity than this pile of reviled thing. Calling it 'trash' would be insulting to actual trash.
  4. AK denies someone with chickenpox boarding, AK-haters blog hate speech, screaming along the lines of 'inhumane', 'inconsiderate' etc. for not allowing someone to go home and get proper treatment back home. AK allows someone with chickenpox boarding, AK-haters blog hate speech, screaming along the lines of 'reckless', 'money sucker' etc. for risking other passengers over someone who has contagious disease that can be possibly fatal. Either way someone will ready their artillery and fire away. Best they can do is do in accordance to the law and regulations.
  5. Exaggeration much? It reminded me on what Mark Twain said about his premature obituary.
  6. What is 787's current backlog though? At this rate if they do not make decisions fast they will only get them when the first 787 goes to scrapyard.
  7. SRB doing safety demo. Safe to say he never did this before...
  8. If the loads are indeed consistently good, what are the odds that we'll see AF's A380 here in the future? If only more people would think the same as you do. Now this profession can be summed up in 5 Chinese words:吃力不讨好 i.e. a thankless job.
  9. We sure could use additional services from other airlines, but calling BA's decision to not operate KUL as 'damaging' to MY-UK business ties would be rather exaggerated. Also as mentioned MH operates double daily flights to LHR so the segment is pretty much well covered.
  10. I must've missed the invitation for that...
  11. Pretty scary and fortunate for the ppl on board, for this could've been another IR655.
  12. Maybe they'll make the announcement a few hours before the opening, Doha style
  13. It's Wikipedia so always take it with a grain of salt, or two, or a truckload of it... That being said I cannot find that part, either I have missed it or someone revised it.
  14. Maybe the airbases do not have VIP facilities and as such not fit for visiting head of state? Not that LHR is much more luxurious in the first place...
  15. If the amended agreement goes through will we finally see MH deploying A380 flights to SYD MEL?
  16. That's bad.. fortunately all on board are safe. P/S for the benefits of non-BM speakers you may want to use English next time.
  17. According to this sentence in the article linked by Lock - Also the article reports that all other Y class aerobridges are to be inspected and all pax boarding/disembarking are to use the premium class aerobridges. Considering HKG and KUL were built and opened around the same time should we be concerned about our aerobridges' safety as well?
  18. But it will be somewhat more painful to transfer from T1/3 to T4... you will need to do that via Hatton Cross.
  19. T5 may be big, but it won't fit all OW airlines under the terminal; at least not without significant expansion. MH moved from T3 to T4 a while ago when BAA reorganises the airlines' terminal according to alliances, and also back then everyone was expecting MH to join ST. Maybe they should've waited a bit...
  20. They once ran an ad on papers, which essentially was a smear campaign against turboprops. I should've kept a copy of that in case AK decides to start turboprop ops... That aside general public may also have misgivings about turboprops from being noisier, slower and smaller. It may be a bit shower but for domestic sectors here it really does its role well. Flew KBR-SZB today and sat up front and it did get quite noisy during takeoff but still acceptable, and seat pitch was better compared to AK. BTW a bit off topic they also handed out cupcakes commemorating its 6th anniversary after the muffin/peanut run.
  21. Considering the fact the 380s are now doing daily flights to CDG and LHR and soon HKG the utilization may be a bit too tight to fit in SYD with existing 6 380s, especially when they still have teething problems that delay the flights.
  22. IMO they are living in their own bubble and have the 'juara kampung' mentality. It's undeniable their offering was substandard, but to their defense, it is not that poor either... You wanna have truly poor hardware offering try KU.
  23. 45 daily flights?? That has got to be the most frequent ever for any city pairs. Wonder how many flights are there nowadays between KUL/SZB-SIN by all carriers combined.
  24. Not just Siemens - CSR Zhuzhou has also announced plans to set up plant in Perak - even when they only have an order for 20 or so rolling stocks for Ampang Line extension. Considering the huge AirAsia (and Lion Air) A320 backlogs we should push to have an A320 line set up somewhere too...
  25. IFE screen on Page 10: Terima kasih telah terbang bersama kami...? Rais Yatim and Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka won't be pleased...
