I think the whole LCC concept can be seen as both; going above the limits as well as having its own rights to a certain extend. However, whatever said and done, its a customer feedback and AK should at least respond to their grouses no matter what the stand is. But I think with the Malaysian mentality and how some people think, the kiasu-ness is not going to change. Its people like us who are aware of all these who should let these people be and be patient. However, it is subjective to each individual and opinions may vary. Perhaps a better education method or system should be in place so these kiasu-ites don't make the LCC concept a mockery !!!!!!

Nothing new "quik!". I had similar issues with them before and even as recent as two weeks ago, I wrote to them (Customer Services) and got no reply till today. However, if you are lucky enough, then you may get 20,000 miles in your credit for complaining, only if you complain and annoy them enough will they do it. So, all your special request and also the threat to switch to another airline may not work after all, but then again, be optimistic and see what happens. They certainly need a lot of training on Customer Services !!!!!

Try reading this trip report of someone who travelled through KUL and see why KLIA is taking a while to reach its HUB STATUS. http://www.airliners.net/discussions/trip_...6171/6/#ID76171 The KLIA management, MAB and also the Transport Ministry should look into this closely and see how blatantly pax compare KUL and our neighbour and why there is a difference. But I guess that is not possible especially when the relevant authorities do not deem this important enough. It is no wonder KUL is often behind SIN in terms of customer service satisfaction.

I doubt they are going to make a big thing about it Tamizi. "They are not performing well on that route", some rumours claimed and I don't think it is MH's flagship route so perhaps nothing would be mentioned. But never know, the stars may be shinning for MH and they may be planning something ?

I guess EK has mentioned that they will use the A380 to KUL, perhaps during the summer schedules where it is considered a peak season. If we are lucky, perhaps even QATAR, SIA and LUFTHANSA occassionaly, who knows, peak seasons are always full of surprises.

I guess that is how a no frills airline works. However, I don't think it should be generalized and made to think that all LCC's are alike. I have been on RYANAIR flights many times esp on the STN-DUB-STN route and I must admit that the cabin crew are usually very tired out, esp after doing a couple of trips a day. Once when I was on the SZG-STN flight, the crew looked so tired out that they had eye bags and as if they were gonna fall any minute. Their hair was undone, make up smeared and as pale as a ghost. I enquired from one of them who was friendly enough, and she told me she had done 2 return sectors that day, excluding the one we were both on, for a good 3 hour flight each way. Imagine the tiring routine they had. That is not something nice at all. I hope AK does not practice that because Malaysia has many aspiring flight attendants.

I am not too sure about Luton, but Im convinced STN (Stansted Airport) looks very good for a Low Cost Carrier Airport. It has internal trains, has a decent architecture and surroundings, and most importantly, a decent amount of Duty Free after Immigration. It is a mess in the early morning because many flights depart around that time. The airport I must say (STN) is one of the better airports I have been to in the UK.

I don't think they have started yet, otherwise we would have known by now although no news has stated anything about it. Also, it may be due to the take over by JET AIRWAYS, perhaps they may start a second daily MAA flight to KUL or to another point in INDIA to replace the planned KUL-MAA route.

Looks like Air Sahara has not started KUL flights after all ???

Maybe it would be possible after all if MH makes the route multi stops; eg :- LHR-AMS-FCO-DXB-MAA-TGG using an A330. Never say never (yeah right)

A hope won't hurt but the Aussie airlines have always not preferred KUL, especially since SIN and BKK are around. QF does not see what it is missing; so will its low cost international, JQ. In the press release by QF group today, KUL is not mentioned at all. Maybe if Ansett is restarted, it may consider returning to KUL.

I think the moev by AK to the LCCTerminal has resulted in a lot of available space and traffic in the MTB. Perhaps shifting some routes to be operated via the MTC especially short sectors such as :- KUL-SIN KUL-BKK KUL-PNH KUL-CGK KUL-HAN KUL-SGN KUL-MES KUL-SUB KUL-DPS KUL-BWN KUL-HKT KUL-YGN and many more short sector flights within the South East Asian region. This would indeed make the Satellite Terminal look empty but at least the traffic is shared between the terminals and we can see more foreign airlines'widebodies on the MTB. I also think the Second Satellite should not commence yet until there is a need to with increased traffic. Apparently, some Chinese airlines have either reduced frequencies or withdrew totally from KUL but no official news is evident to those reports. We can safely say that AK did contribute a lot to the traffic at KUL. Wondering if the LCCT pax traffic is included in the total pax travelling through KLIA ?

Thanks Pieter !!! I am hoping still for KL and MH to increase services between KUL and AMS soon. Maybe a B777 service code shared by both airlines. You have a whole lots of exotic airlines there and we have a set here too. Too bad we dont't consider exotic airlines in the same category : )

Yes SV, looks like that alright !!! But I guess airlines such as SQ and LH can afford to have trial and error or even make it even unlike MH, TG and GA who may run at losses with their ever popular management team. Let us hope that the new MH team will succeed and overcome the stereotypical expectations everyone had on them thus far. Firstly, MAS should have started daily flights to BOM, DEL, BLR and HYD before making any other ventures into India. MAA was already daily then and they even over anticipated/expected the response to traffic to and from MAA that they even sent out a B744 there only to be converted back to an A330 now.

"When MH end codeshare with them..........the route can be LHR-HKG-KUL or LHR-KUL-SYD or LHR-KUL". Well eventually I hope they will reroute their LHR-HKG-SYD via KUL instead. Competition is great now for the HKG-LHR-HKG route with BA, VS, CX, QF and NZ on the route. "I dunno bout this man, to say impossible is too much, even MH struggles with their US routes, how come a struggle US carrier want to do this route?" Well I have always wondered how do other airlines such as KL, OS and LH do on their KUL-AMS/VIE/FRA-US routes ? Are there many pax using these airlines to travel to the US ? If thats the case, NW or CO may start KUL and connect either at CDG or AMS an onward to their other US destinations, right ? But I guess it is al a matter of time. With Finnair now introducing service with effect from May 2007, it is not surprising for others to follow suit. I hope they start services to KUL with their new aircrafts and hopefully it wont be a tag on flight from BKK for very long instead a dedicated service ? Opppsss I made a mistake....I meant DTW rather than DFW !!! Sorry !!!
