  1. I agree it is quite stupid. I never bothered finish reading the posts even in Part I. Well, what that thread tells us is there are some aviation freaks who will follow 'an' airplane to end of the earth! If we ever start the 'Never Ending Hibiscus Thread' then we'll probably get flamed good. Enjoy your trip in Hibiscus though.
  2. There are even (neverending) threads dedicated to the discussion of Peter Max livery at airliners.net. They are now into Part III or something. Good to have someone on the other side of the dateline on board, Peter.
  3. Thanks for getting us some shot S Chang. It's not everyday you get to see 2x MAS B747 in AKL.
  4. Many thanks TK for the great insight of everything really. I do enjoy your de-icing 'tour'. The most recent experience for me regarding de-icing process was in Beijing, China in December 2004. One thing is for sure when it comes to China, lots and lots of manpower. I was looking out the window and saw a bunch of people with brooms sweeping the tarmac! I was enjoying myself until the de-icing stuff covered my beautiful view.
  5. Thanks for the reply Walter. Hmmm...I was thinking along that line but due to limited space in AKL airport I wonder how they will go about it. It's possible I guess but it will probably feel quite cramped and congested during peak period. Anyone got anymore news regarding the aerobridge collapsing? I couldn't find anymore news online.
  6. That can't be good. Does anyone know how AKL airport is looking like now? I read in Australian Aviation Nov issue that AKL airport is planning to put in a new level dedicated to departure and the existing level to arrival? I'm not sure how it will work with 2 separate levels.
  7. Awesome photos you got there Pieter. Thanks for sharing. I reckon the NWA new livery looks great on a A330. Still sad to heard the DC-10s will soon be retired. Looking forward to more close up photos.
  8. Personally I liked all the special liveries from MH, SQ and QF. This is my opinion: MH - I liked the Hibiscus livery because it gives a taste of Malaysia with the national flower Hibiscus. Heliconia also but as the same time the blue colour is rather refreshing in my opinion. (I give them my vote because they are my national carrier). SQ - Their tropical livery reflects the tropical environment of Singapore. And being such a colourful livery also makes it very nice and stands out. QF - Reflects Australia with their aboriginal background which makes it unique (and colourful). To some extend I do agree that their liveries are a bit too busy.
  9. I agree totally with you guys regarding how ugly those model planes looked! It is the most hideous looking model planes I've ever seen. I mean, it looks like left over plastics being cut and glued together to resemble a plane looking shape. But the good thing is the Sibu airport upgrade is sure looking nice. Can't wait to see it finished.
  10. I haven't seen anymore Korean since then so it is most likely just a charter. It flew off during the evening period...around 5 - 6 pm if I remember correctly. JAL are still operating charters to AKL especially during the summer period I think. There are a few photos at airliners.net. All the Japs are crazy about NZ golfcourse. I too find the new Business class seats a little weird. Jonathan Kong, I envy you and all the rest back home...all those widebodies everyday.
  11. Well, they did some advertisement for the Upper Class Suites. Have a look... http://media1.Break.com/content/airplanegay.wmv
  12. Found this at jetphoto. Not looking too bad. http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5627121
  13. Kaikoura, NZ has one. My friend who has his PPL flew me to Kaikoura for lunch and there is no ATC. What he has to do in this case is report his status when in the area (landing and takeoff). Cool experience no doubt.
  14. Raj, mana ada? We only have daily EK, SQ and QF in NZCH. You get Pacific Blue in early hours and evening. Korean I'm a little unsure. I managed to see one a while ago when I was at the airport to send off a relative. Unfortunately no camera on me. In NZCH, you can plenty of ANZ A320; B733, ATR-72, Saab, BeechKing; QFNZ B733. Me want LOTS OF BIG PLANES!
  15. Raj, good to see that you're into spotting and posting your photos. Thanks for sharing. Hope to see more from you and the others in AKL. I'm too lazy to go to spot at CHC as the traffic are 'very' boring. Maybe I'll catch you guys if I make a visit to AKL one day.
  16. Thanks for the photos Khushwant. It seems like Sydney is a nice place to spot. Those B744 from MAS and SIA looks really close to the carpark! Must make a visit to Sydney one day. Looking forward to A380 in Malaysia!
  17. Wow! Cool photos SV. I really enjoyed the photos you took in CLK. So far I haven't had a chance to go the Hong Kong yet but one day I should. I didn't know TG are sending their A346 to AKL now. I've only seen them sending B744 and MD11 to AKL.
  18. I agree. I was hoping for something more original and modern. At the moment it seems like KLIA on diet.
  19. Cheers raj. It took me a while. Finally reached 100 and now have to start crawling to 500.
  20. Great shots Syed. Maybe your shots are not as sharp as some we've seen here. But that's not important. The most important thing is you enjoyed your spotting (and we enjoyed your photos). Share some more if you've got anymore.
  21. Woohoo! More photos coming from TK. Have a pleasant and safe trip, TK. By the way, are you really allowed to bring in your own food? BK for that matter?
  22. I think there are only 3 class. Like you said they have gotten rid of First class and shifted Business up and have the new Premium economy in between.
  23. Very nice shots Azahan. Thanks for sharing. Both TK and ah moi looks very shy there...with TK sipping away his drink and ah moi looks as if she's pretending not to look. Cute...
  24. Great shots Edwin. And thanks very much for sharing. I really miss Changi. Always full of action with foreign airlines (something KLIA needs). Can't wait for more!
  25. The last trip I took on MAS A330 I found the seating to be quite spacious. I agree the cabin does look worn out and if they do plan to keep them for the long term they really need to do something about it. Nonetheless it was a comfortable flight...and of course a beautiful aircraft to spot.
