Singapore Airlines plane hits aerobridge at Sydney Airport

saw the pics.... this is gonna be painful whoever footing the bill... -
MAHB tried to defend the problem saying only 1% of the pavement cracks. The problem is the 1% is all that is being used by an aircraft in airport, especially when over 80% of the load are from A320, the tarmac usage is typically the same area day-in day-out!!!

the staff in the 2nd tower near LCCT must be feeling lost now... used to be abuzz with activities...
-
nope, smooth driving all the way. but do look out for the shuttle bus travelling between KLIA2 and LCCT, the extended jalan pekeliling is quite narrow and the bus is travelling at high speed.
-
Just went driving around LCCT and then runway 33. Workers are on hand to dismantles various shops and F&B outlets there and also the old LCCT food court. I hope security are tight so that no unauthorized personnel one can sneak on to the ramp and roam free. Didn't know they rerouted the Jalan Pekeliling to Runway 3 and then onwards to KLIA2. From spotting point of view its going to be a real consideration of give and take; you want A320 and all their special liveries, runway 33 it is. if international airline and other type of planes is the main target, 32L. hmm... decision decision... or spent thousands on super zoom lens to take runway 33 landing from 32L.

This is from Taiwan news website: http://www.chinatimes.com/realtimenews/20140308003502-260401 另外,美國駐華大使館稱,淩晨2點43分美軍駐紮在泰國烏塔堡軍事基地曾監聽到一段馬來西亞航空公司MH370航班緊急呼叫的SOS信號,客機駕駛員呼叫稱機艙面臨解體,他們要迫降。目前駐泰美軍已向馬來西亞方面提供這段信號。 Summary: US Embassy in China claimed that a Thailand US army base intercepted an SOS call at 0243am, the crew requested for emergency landing as they were encountering disintegration of fuselage. The US army personnel has handed over the call to Malaysia authorities.

The authorities are finding it hard to adjust to these new trend of photos going to social media and they have to address it. not like last time (before the age of facebook and all), they just build what they like, to the standard they "feel" safe, and handover to public use. the cronies will be able to collect payment and whatever maintenance can wait until cow comes home. nowadays, little little defect is being shared all over cyberspace and they need stop-gap measure.

2014 Singapore Airshow, Changi Exhibition Centre, Singapore
Benjamin Ho replied to xtemujin's topic in General Aviation
Looking at WT's photo of A350 reminded me of the A380 shot at similar location/angle during the SA2008 show. They were towing the plane for aero display, we jumped over the fence, lie down on our tummy and started snapping like mad. I think the security just looked at us, shook his head and left us alone while making sure no other maniac do the same thing. -
talking about maintenance for KUL, anyone feels that the MTB is getting darker and darker at night by the year? Did they change to a lower watt bulb?
