  1. Yeah, I was wondering, why strike runway...?
  2. Gosh... I just flew cross the airspace not long ago...
  3. It's a relief to hear that, surely to most passengers as well. Am just wondering, since the 1991 incident with BA, hasn't anyone figured out a way to cope with volcanic ash in the sky. Surely, closing down IFR airspace, stranding passengers for days, isn't the way to out...
  4. Not about cancelation; no one would know if a flight would be canceled due to the ash. But I think the problem is there is no one to answer queries--just because it is weekend and office is closed as per normal operation. I think this is a question about efficiency.
  5. I have been put on another flight on Tuesday, April 27th. This is more than a week from my planned flight. I had to call my School and inform them I won't be able to get back in time for exams. Keeping in touch with the airline over the weekend was impossible even in a situation when passengers really need to be in touch with them. Called airline in KL, Sg., and UK, got no answer. Finally few hours before planned flight they called me and inform me about flight cancelation; this is not efficient, is it...
  6. When is the airspace likely to reopen? I need to fly back to MAN by 19th...
  7. Yes, yes, I understand what is going on... :-D Child only spoke, not controlled... But I thought one needs ot have a certification to do such a thing? I do mean speech; that is why we have oral tests... :-P
  8. Other than lighting, it is easy to tell a taxiway from a runway, right! The zebra crossings and white boxes... Hard to fathom what was going on... Any follow up of this incident?
  9. I never imagined someone would allow his/her child to do the controlling for him/her... @@
  10. Yeah... Doesn't look as "stealth" as the American's... But who knows it could be more stealth... Agreed.
  11. I thought this was interesting: You've heard of planes that vanished into thin air? Here's a truer, scarier story: On Oct. 21, 2009, two pilots flying from San Diego to Minneapolis vanished into cyberspace. Source: Slate
  12. ...at least the sign says "may be unable to" and not "are not allowed to"...
  13. Someone who knows how to open an emergency exit should be that stupid as to open an emergency exit in an airplane for the wrong reason... This is suspicious news... Haha... Glad the plane was still on the ground... :-D
  14. Bingo... That (in italic) would be quite impossible, though, but half of the number would be sensible...
  15. ...the little container in the middle... looks as if got from the sundry shop... What was that?
  16. Oh, my... This is the state of affair now a days, huh... Haven't been back to PEN for years and now spotting is difficult... We do have the right to be at the perimeter as long as we don't enter the airport compound or temper with the fence... The surau area near Rwy 22 threhold is definitely not of the airport premise, I believe... Or is there a particular spot which belongs to the airport?
  17. I think just phase out the MIG's and acquire nothing new... Any suspicios dots on the radar screen, the Hornets and existing Sukhois would do more than enough... Save money and prevent more successful get-rich scheme...
  18. Well, they were on FS with real-life weather and ATC feeding, just trying to see if the simulation is accurate enough, but being a simulator, there were some inaccuracies, and instead on relying on real life navigation and maneuver, they inadvertently relied on the simulator, and by the time they reached the point in the simulation where they were to contact ATC, they have missed airport by 150 miles for more than an hour... Well, just an imagination...
  19. Now PEN also has beredar team? Since when? Pardon my ignorance... No way spotters are stepping on WMKP premises, right?
