QR624 to DPS

Recommended Posts

Dear all, I've booked myself to DPS in QR, the timetable is as per shown below:

Qatar Airways (QR624) - 18 Oct 07

Dep : 13:00 - Kuala Lumpur (KUL)

Arr : 16:05 - Denpasar Bali (DPS)

Equipment : Airbus Industrie A330-200

and

Qatar Airways (QR625) - 22 Oct 07

Dep : 03:35 - Denpasar Bali (DPS)

Arr : 06:35 - Kuala Lumpur (KUL)

Equipment : Airbus Industrie A330-200

My question is, since QR has a few A330-200 configuration, which one is used on this route?

# A330-202 (281 seat configuration)

# A330-202 (272 seat configuration)

# A330-202 (260 seat configuration)

# A330-202 (238 seat configuration)

# A330-202 (228 seat configuration)

Thanks

MATTA Fair price yesterday, a package deal indeed!

4d3n (4n actually, since the return flight departs at 0335H), travelling on Q class, includes accomodation, the price is about RM1073.

Tax is about RM273, excludes Rp.100,000 tax from DPS.

However, Q class fare is only available for package tour. To buy JUST ticket, QR will book on L class, and the price is about 863 including tax.

AFAIK QR is switching their a/c type to A332 from mid-September. Finally KUL get its upgrade! :clapping:

Sorry Offendi, cant answer your question... perhaps you can give QR office a call, I'm sure they can pre-book seats for you. I would guess they will be using the 2 class A330-200, which means all the Y class seats start from row 10.

QR is full of crap to be honest. They made such a big deal about services to KUL but left it with A300-600 till now. SIN was started later than KUL - but was immediately upgraded in terms of capacity and frequency. Of course, we all know that SIN is a higher yield destination than KUL. But the rest of ASEAN had 332 services while KUL languished with the A300.

its about time KUL was upgraded to be honest.

Certainly not the 3-class 332. So you can cut the fourth and fifth seat configuration off the list. There are only 2 332 in the 281 and 272 seat configuration respectively. The rest of QR 2-class 332 all have 260 seats. The 281 & 272 seats QR 332 have the old J product with only 55" of pitch while the 260 seats QR 332 have the 60" pitch J product.

Isaac, how was your past experience with QR? As I understand you went to CGK with QR before, correct?

Yes. I did. And it was a complete utter disaster. Clearly a terrible choice. Flight attendants on that flight were rude. There was no smile from any of the flight attendants. One middle eastern stewardess became a bit friendly only after my mom complained (it was something about the meal and also that she ignored my mom request earlier). My parents would never fly QR again. QR is the number one no-fly airline on my dad's list. However i would like to give them one more chance, and hopefully my next flight with them will be a complete different experience. The flight on QR to CGK was operated by an AB6. That was my first time on AB6 and probably the last time.

The ticket cost my dad RM700+/person. It was a return ticket in Y but we never took the return flight back to KUL on QR. Instead my dad paid another RM450+/person for a last minute one-way Y ticket back to KUL on EK. I must say EK is a far better airline than QR.

Yaaa...that's cheap! Given choices between AK and QR on the same route and same price, I'd rather fly QR. Even it is a red eye flight, I don't mind staying up until 0335H in the morning to catch the plane. <_>

Is Turkish making a come back to KL? :o

Yeah, TK was supposed to fly into KUL in Aug/Sept but looks like they have shelved their plans again.

The flight was supposed to be operated via BKK using an A330.

Yeah, that is very cheap for a 3-hour flight. Many foreign carriers operating out of a country using 5th freedom rights tend to offer very cheap air fare even if they have a daily flight. KLM to CGK is super cheap too. Service is great and flight attendants are friendly.

Sounds like they are really bad that your parents wouldn't want to endure with them for another flight back!
