Raymond Ngu 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Raymond Nguyen... how many mm required for tht SQ Jumbo rotating?? i just fried the Kampua mee... Around 80mm, after x 1.5 crop factor is 120mm. For exactly side on rotation of B744 AND B773, 70mm is enough. Hmm, kampua mee, italian style? or just the simple Sibu type ?

Mischa 1 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Hi Raymond, Beautiful photos from my beloved Changi. I love those nightshots from the terminal. Next February i will bring my tripod there also to practice some nightshots too. I'm very envy about the 9V-SPP shots. That aircraft is always on the run when i am in the area with my camera lol. Changi beach is defenately one of the best places to be when the sun is turning into that nice orange colour. It gives a very nice effect on the aircrafts. Keep on posting the great photo's. Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Sorry to 'hijack' your thread, but this is what I wanna share and is what I received from a Brit: Before the log a few words about the situation here :- Changi ...as well reported the Term 1 deck is closed at the Swensons end. However the windows overlooking the C and D piers are still accessible. By positioning at the far Right side ( furthest away from the old Swensons ) I was able to read off most traffic inbound on both runways, quite a lot of which taxied back round anyway. I did check T2, but the deck is very poor now and visibility through both sets of windows makes life very difficult. Worth a visit though to pick up some of the Silkair/SIA and temporarily if you need to target an outbound which has escaped you on landing. Worth considering is renting a car. I managed to get a Corolla for around £50 for the day from Avis. The perimeter road is easily accessed and it seems no problem to stop on the grass temporarily and you go around ( watch out for the fire ants though- the size of planets ! ) . When you reach the far end, close to the Maintenance area, you will find Changi beach. There are several free car parks, seats and grass park areas, all inbounds on both runways can easily be read from the beach area. With a car you can shoot off to Seletar, which takes about 15 mins up the Tampines express way ( TPE ). Now that Seletar is primarily civil, access is easy and most residents can be logged. Mischa I guess i'm just being lucky, spot for 5 days non-stop, only see 9V-SPP once, 9V-SRE once and 9V-SYE twice. So difficult to get those star alliance. Changi beach is indeed very nice when there's great evening sunlight. During my stay there, only 1 evening with good sunlight (the day i shoot the EK B773 with the moon). Hope u can get 9V-SPP as well when u go there next Feb. Pieter, Thanks for the info. Seletar got some interesting traffic and never knew that AirAsia have their maintenance done there. Raymond Ngu 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Somemore... 9V-SGE going to Jakarta. SQ c/s looks good on the A345. All SQ in the pic - 4 B777 and a Jumbo. The tightest shot of my trip. Learned from the "sifu" there.
Sneeze Lam 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 Raymond, Excellent photos, on the Coastal Road, never been there and want to have a chance in the future. Raymond Ngu 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 Raymond, Excellent photos, on the Coastal Road, never been there and want to have a chance in the future. By the way, I would like to know if there are any JetStar Asia's A320s have already repainted as JetStar? I'm sad to tell u that coastal road spot will be gone early next yr. By that time, they'll double fenced it, so no more chances of photographing there I think there are plans to repaint JetStarAsia into JetStar but i hv no idea about the timeline. So, what i do now is to shoot every JetStarAsia before they are gone forever.
Raymond Ngu 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 VH-OJF ready to departure. Terminal 1 central apron is very nice for night shoots. The only complain is that after each session of night shooting, my back is painful. KLM blue is fantastic esp at night. I couldn't resist getting a shot of her, even with the lamp post. Full zoom @ 210mm, no edit, only resize. Both pics are taken on 8/9/06, my last day of spotting in SIN. So far all pics are straight from camera, only some cropping and resizing. KLM) during the Ramadan period

Hoe Jyh 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2006 Nice to meet you, Raymond, during the last day of the RSAF Open House. Wow! Nice night shots from Terminal 1, Raymond. Especially liked the QF B744 where it is nicely exposed. I love the T1 viewing mall since I discovered night photography some time back 2 years ago with good old fashioned clean glass, with the only pity being the fact that its good for only a few gates (namely the D30,D32,D34 gate).
