Norman,

Nice sequence of landing shots of the Qatari Syeikh....Hope you do not mind to let me share something with the rest here......

I am sure the pilot not flying must be wondering when is the pilot flying is going to put the nose down. The dangers of holding your nose so long and high up after the main wheels have touched and spoiler cum reversers activated can be rather disasterous. Reversers and spoliers destroys lift on wings. And by holding the nose up for so long, and with lift energy gradually reducing depending on the rate of deceleration, once lift energy dissapates, the nose will stall and the nose wheel will hit the ground very very hard. Chances of damage of sturtural crack will be high indeed.

In my training and conversion days, we are always reminded during the flaring part to 'fly the nose wheel to the ground'. Meaning that once main wheels touched, reversers deployed (which activates spoilers automatically), gradually let the nose wheel come down in a controlled manner. Never let go instantaneously but also never hold on to it forever. A jetliner is not Cessna. The more and more holding off the nose may also eventually lead to a tail strike. Can you see how close the tail is to ground?? Put that on a Triple and Norman will capture a tail strike for all to see.

Its a great showoff and thankfully Norman was there to capture it for us.......hehe. More please Norman....more....

Waiting for more from you, Norman. Thanks for the nice touchdown shots.

LeeCH, that was a superb explanation. Can't imagine the impact of a stalled nose drop for a Heavy.

Great shots you got there bro Norman. I love the MH A332 with the tip-toes. :)

The 9M-AAG in the pic is the one my sis on from KUL-LBU and lost her luggage upon arrival. My sister says they were on hold for almost half an hour before they proceed to take off. Seems u got a lot of shots showing AAG on hold. :) They arrive LBU at 1525 on the afternoon.

Adrian... when there's only one runway in operation,

there'll bound to be some delays...

Everybody want to use the same threshold

for landing or departing...

Some fast "jumper" like A320 or lightweight A330

will use Charlie4... even that sometime they've to hold

for arrivals & wake turbulence.. ;)
