Delwin A 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 A/c was disabled at runway 25. Dun have good pics of it though
Ignatius 4 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 Yup, it was a pact chaotic scene at the parking bays.. all usable gates and ramps all used up, it peaks to a total of 11 a/c at one time.. with two disable a/c on tarmacs.. didn't notice a 734 was also handicapped for unknown reasons.. The bernama pix are nothing ehhe.. we got better but aren't sure if we should post it here.. becoz during their attempt to remove the nose gear from the soil, they signaled us not to take pix.. kindda weird... so having Pieters experience in mind, we move further aways and watched in a distence... To me, i think no tyre blew up.. very certain of that.. cos while they wre towing it back to the gates, no sign of punctured nose gears.. just a misjudgement during their so called U-turn.. during back tracking.. will get some photos' uploaded... Fitri Shukri 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 Yup as Radzi said, the spill over, or domino effect is wide. Many unhappy and confused passengers at KBR yesterday evening. Decide to cancel flight to KUL then PEN from KBR. MH1405 was supposed to depart KBR to KUL at 1950 but delayed to 0005 (20/02/06). Connecting flight to PEN has to wait to this morning. Instead, made a decision to cancel flight and just drive back to PEN through the Titiwangsa Mountain Range with my father, wife and 6 months old daughter. Safely arrived at Butterworth at 2.45am. Raj 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 is it the nose gear that went into the soil or the left landing gear..coz lookin at delwin pic it looks like every one in concentrating on the left main gear..
Radzi 2 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 The crew of the A330 flew back with me this morning. In a few days they will have a formal investigation of what actually happened. Possibilities are human error or mechanical / electrical failure. Remember that on the A330 even the nosewheel steering is fly-by-wire. Can't say anything further. ASs of now don't speculate, just wait for the experts to do their job.
Adrian M 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 Picked from bernama A passenger, Zuliati Sapawi, 30, said: "The aircraft was stuck at the end of the runway until 11.20 am during which time I could feel the aircraft moving forward and backward, trying to dislodge." LOL my gawd...A330 is not a car ok?

Ignatius 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) OK sum more pix for u guys to see, maybe you guys will see a lil bit more than what the press has got to say.. hehe.. This is the general overview of Mike Kilo Echo at threshold of Runway 25... This one, as posted yesterday was at the end of Runway 25, showing how close a/c is from the edge of the world hehe This shot, almost similar to Delwins shot..shows everyone else near the main left gear.. The reason why they berkumpul there is because they are trying to tow it using the pushback truck.. see the chain attached to it.. You can also see the stuck nose gear in the mud... See the pushback truck.... then there is the JCB not picture to later dig a hole near the nose gear to loosen it from the mud prior to towing attempt.. We waited waited waited.... At last.. successful So Mike Kilo Echo was towed slowly very very slowly back to the terminals... No sign of tyre puncture.... the presss... talk rubbish And these fellas were told "Hey.. cuci bagus bagus.. leave no trace hahha " Cheers.. hope this help u guys see what happened yesterday.. Ignatius, Thanks for the pictorial explanation. Very well done. This photo really shows how huge the A330 is. Huge big. Ignatius 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 There seems to be lots of bystanders. Have they nothing to do? You have to understand.... its really hot, and the A330 seems to be the best shed around hehe...
Adrian M 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 just a gimmic to sell the story... if it sounds minor case...people will be like"ceh...only that." and people forget it after 3 days. If they write with the word "skidded", people will be like..."wah...that's big man....all the gears are broke and the whole plane slip on the grass as far as 500 meters." All the gossip and things happened. Aviation Paparazzi vs Regular Reporter. Big difference
