LeeCH 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2006 Gavin, If you look at Kelvin B's first shot of the EK World Cup pencil, can see the winds are from left of 14R making it a crosswind takeoff. That explains the rudder compensation. Kelvin, Blue engines on MASKargo because planes are leased from Atlanta, which their usual livery dictates blue engine cowlings. All great pictures. Usually I sharpen it at its original size.. then, i crop it and resharpen them once more.. maybe thats why so many jaggies? Interesting cloud pattern at my house yesterday.... Regular weather station visitors will recognize the gravel... 3 amoi plane, minus the amoi... AAA battery China Airlines I had lots of trouble with the MAS planes lah. Most of them were over exposed on the white part. But sometimes it was ok. Not sure what is wrong. Anything to do with White Balancing?? For example, these two photos taken one after the other without changing settings, but the result is the same... i was using manual F3.5. exposure 1/1000 for both, but the white is different.... why ah?? Then..switch to the mode u usually use..and take a few shots with that as well...preferably as soon as you're done with the Running Man Mode shots...so the lighting and all is about the same... Then..go home...get a nice mug of Kopi Ais with extra kopi...and compare the shots. Personally...I prefer the running man mode on my lumix..although i have 4 different TYPES of running man modes! But 200 is OKAY I guess . You will notice that when you use auto , as the distance of the plane changes , the shutter speed and aperture settings will change as well . Imran K. 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 A general rule of thumb I just learnt from a close buddy of mine...is that an ideal shutter speed should follow this formula... 1 / (Focal Length) e.g...If your focal length is 300mm...then the ideal shutter speed should be about 1/300 providing you have bright conditions...then again...this varies from place to place. Best bet , is Auto Hi Gavin, Thanks for the tips. I was using ISO 50 all the time. On the spotting trip on the 6th, I was using P most of the time. But I found that a lot of the pics were just not so clear. Sometimes too dark, sometimes too bright, and not clear...., so I tried to use M mode on the 8th, and in general, got a bit clearer pics. The thing I was wondering with both those two shots, they were taken one after another, without changing the settings, but the outcome is completely different. I thought that the outcome should be at least similar with the shutter speed and aperture fixed. What else does the camera do inside, with respect to exposure? Does it process white light information, white balance, etc??
