Hi Gavin,

Thanks for the tips.

I was using ISO 50 all the time.

On the spotting trip on the 6th, I was using P most of the time. But I found that a lot of the pics were just not so clear. Sometimes too dark, sometimes too bright, and not clear...., so I tried to use M mode on the 8th, and in general, got a bit clearer pics.

The thing I was wondering with both those two shots, they were taken one after another, without changing the settings, but the outcome is completely different. I thought that the outcome should be at least similar with the shutter speed and aperture fixed. What else does the camera do inside, with respect to exposure? Does it process white light information, white balance, etc??

Anyway, I will take a few more trips out there and play more with different settings etc.... should be fun :D:D:D

My guess, the culprit is the digicam Auto White Balance. With the rest being equal, setting WB to auto

sometimes play tricks to your images. Also happen in semi-pro dSLR... ;)

but if you notice... KLIA's runway is quite long... and there're areas of bright&sunny, as well as

shaded (by clouds)... So the metering in the cam is working like mad

Sometimes it nailed down, sometimes not... ;)

Hey Norman,

I suspect that too. Really weird when i was out there, on the 8th. The AFC and red planes quite clear and nice (I was using manual focus too :D). But the MAS one all chekai....

Came back and read a bit of the manual on the AWB. Will use a fixed white balance thing next time i go out there... Today still raining, not nice for spotting.... Maybe sunday, if can get permission from wife... :D.

Have fun spotting out there tomorrow. hope it does not rain...!

Raj,

Thanks... :)

Okay, last set of pics from the 8th.... :D

Saw these guys digging around at the side of the runway.... kutip sampah ah?

What do you see hiding behind the MAS kargo?? :D :D

I saw this come in, and thought what a shame, coz i would not be able to see her leave, but just as I was about to head home, she came out... Must be a quicky, come in, unload, and head off. I thought it would stay in the cargo bay a little longer than the two hours.... lucky me anyway.

Went back for a bit more on the 12th to test some new settings, and most of the shots came out CRAPPY...!!

Anyway, got a China Cargo, and was wondering if it was the pilots smiley face i got, or if it was some optical effect....

Lucky enuf to get into cockpit..

One question, only Captains are allowed to fly new busses?

Most probably some training involved, so one captain is really the instructor for the other captain, to be trained on the "new" aircraft-type...

Hi Guys,

I was reading another post about file size of the pics. I realized that my photos were pretty large, and would take quite a long time to load, for those with slower net connections, or when photobucket was overloaded.

So I have gone in and resized all my photos.

For those with slower net connections, I hope it helps.

Cheers.
