Naim 6 Report post Posted February 19, 2011 I wonder which 'Jeddah-based' airline? === Saturday February 19, 2011 No pay since November, claim air stewardesses PETALING JAYA: A group of air stewardesses have made allegations against a Jeddah-based company that they had not been paid their wages since November. Most claimed to have worked with the company since 2009 with each receiving a basic monthly salary of 5,000 riyal (RM4,000) as well as allowances and other benefits. A 30-year-old air stewardess, who declined to be named, said they started receiving their salaries late since April last year. However, she alleged, except for 1,500 riyal (RM1,250) given to them recently, they had not received any money since November. “They kept promising us our outstanding salaries but they were all empty promises,” she said, adding that their bills are piling and some worry their cars would be repossessed. The air stewardesses have taken their woes to the Umno Youth community complaints bureau, which has written to the company to make payment in seven days. “If the company is not able to resolve the issue by then, we will help fly the air stewardess back home,” bureau chairman Datuk Muhd Khairun Aseh told a press conference here yesterday. He said he had met the 32 affected Malaysian air stewardess at a hotel in Jeddah on Feb 11 and 23 had sought the bureau’s help. Muhd Khairun said the bureau decided to help them because the stewardesses did not know who else to approach to air their plight. Company officials were not available for comment. http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2011/2/19/nation/8095186&sec=nation

KK Lee 5 Report post Posted February 21, 2011 Haj chartered may be profitable and in high demand but only last a few months a year. Unless the profit made can sustain the operation for the rest of the year and have prudent management else cash flow issue is not unexpected.
