Subang (WMSA/SZB) 2011

Recommended Posts

Went to SZB late afternoon today. Rain was threatening and I thought I will just try my luck.

One of FYs two latest ATRs that were delivered earlier this month, 9M-FYK:

Hot on the heels of the FY bird was this MH one, 9M-MMQ. Is this one of the B734s that will be retired?

Then MWingers Hong Kit and Raymond Ngu (fr Sg) arrived from their KUL spotting session. Shortly afterwards, it started to rain. This was the only military plane I saw - M44-07. It came in after the rain started to get heavier:

Those noisy Rolls-Royce Conway Mk. 301 Turbofans generating 22,500 lbf (100.1 kN) of thrust could be easily replaced by the CFM-56s (just like the Boeing 707). But I guess the engineering effort is not worth it, considering the remaining life left of the airframes.

That is why the RAF is getting the Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport to replace the VC-10s. :)

The aircraft is supposed to be owned by Malaysian Jet Services Sdn Bhd but in some listings, RMAF or Petronas are also stated.

Those postings are inaccurate, nothing to do with RMAF.

So do we know for sure who the real owners are?
