Tamizi Hj Tamby 1 Report post Posted August 20, 2009 Malaysia Airlines says to buy Transmile engineering unit Reuters - Thursday, August 20 KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 - National carrier Malaysia Airline said on Wednesday its aircraft maintenance unit plans to buy Transmile's engineering unit to achieve a revenue target of 500 million Malaysian ringgit this year. The plan involves the purchase of Transmile's base maintenance and engineering capabilities including 2 hangars, equipment, and employment of its skilled manpower. Malaysian Aerospace Engineering Sdn Bhd , a unit of Malaysia Airline, will also provide heavy maintenance services to Transmile's fleet of 16 freighter aircraft, it said in a statement. It did not provide any financial details for the transaction. MAE currently services more than 80 customer airlines including Air Atlanta, Lufthansa , Saudi Arabian Airlines, Jet Airways and Delta Air Lines Inc . The plan involves the purchase of Transmile's base maintenance and engineering capabilities including 2 hangars, equipment, and employment of its skilled manpower. Malaysian Aerospace Engineering (MAE), a unit of Malaysia Airlines, will also provide heavy maintenance services to Transmile's fleet of 16 freighter aircraft, it said in a statement. It did not provide any financial details for the transaction. Definately an reporting error. Tarmizi, they also have a couple of 732's. Two currently parked in subang and one is flying for megantara.
