Fitri Shukri 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 Thanks Norman for the great coverage of LIMA. As always, more shots please, especially aerial display. That MB339, can you please check. Is it from Italy or is it second hand RMAF buys from RNZAF. I saw it fly into Butterworth RMAF base earlier this week, as with the new Army A109 helicopter. The MiG29 pilots, waaah, really macho. Can I use that photo when I go and give career talks to schools? Good way to motivate them to be air force pilots. BTW, nice ah mois there. ps. Ibrahim, what is a 'G-string'? I dunno-lah, malu to ask my wife, maybe you know better
Norman 1 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 (edited) Pieter Don't Worry I Will Try Find One For You Went I Go There This Saturday.. But I Don't Sure They Want Sell their Cap. Imran You Know Laaa Me... 19452 Good Luck Ibrahim ... I tried to ask for one and in fact willing to trade my ATC cap.... no luck... They dun sell this cap when I was there... Limited to 15 macho gus only I think.. Their "machais" (as Azahan named them) also don't have this type... BTW... entrance fee for Trade Visitor is RM60.00 for Public Visitor on Sat & Sun will be RM20.00 only... Worth RM20 if you want to shoot noses of aircraft using widest angle. But make sure you leave your cigarette & lighters behind when entering air-side... those mean looking Handau commandoes are really serious about their job... Chapfun 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 "...They dun sell this cap when I was there... Limited to 15 macho gus only I think.. Their "machais" (as Azahan named them) also don't have this type..." Just head on to the car-park opposite the exhibition hall - look for a stall called "Checkpoint Militaria". I remember seeing the cap being sold there.
Chapfun 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 Forget to add - look for a guy named Mohd or his assistant Sam - they should be able to get hold of the cap in case the curent stock runs out. Look out as well for the F-18D T-shirt featuring the 18 Sqn logo

Norman 1 Report post Posted December 10, 2005 No-la but am a regular visitor to LIMA. Flew in on Wed and flew out yesterday. 19571 I was there... didn't see the cap, but they do have MIG29 T-shirts (Siam style) at RM40 for collared and RM20 for roundneck... And the beef burger over the parking area, that consists of Bun sliced into in the middle, Beef burger (also sliced in the middle ) 2 slices of cucumber Size?? Slightly smaller than your palm COST?? RM3.00 ... You can also have rice in the exhibition hall; One plate with 2 types of dishes = RM15 One plate with 4 types of dishes = RM25 One can of soft drink = RM5
Norman 1 Report post Posted December 10, 2005 (edited) The IL-86..izit bringing in the russian tourist? 19489 Nope... they're exhibitors also for the Russian Companies.. A lot of them... IF they decided not to turn up, exibition hall might be about HALF EMPTY But this year they didn't put up side business like selling night vision bino, watches etc, at least that I know of Fitri... I think the MB339 is Italian Air Force... look at the rego.. Ok... some shots from the Exhibition Hall Sorry for the low quality... tried with Flash... doesn't come out good so use high ISO, with wide aperture, slow shutter and trembling hand (M.OIS. helps a lot ) I didn't forget our flightsimmers... Also for aircraft model lovers.. Also real aircraft.. such as this Diamond Katana Twin (LATC's training aircraft) And her cockpit.... nice isn't it... with the big glass... wonder how when the cadets graduated and being commisioned to Twin Otter.. And not to forget the team from DCA KLIA in front of their booth Thanks again for viewing.. Edited December 10, 2005 by Norman
