  1. fantastic pictures, thanks.
  2. oopps....I missed of wxreport on avherald, now it took my attention after windshear info. Metars: OMDB 030900Z 11021KT 3000 BLDU NSC 49/07 Q0993 WS ALL RWY TEMPO 35015KT 1500 OMDB 030800Z 14012KT 100V180 6000 NSC 48/09 Q0994 WS ALL RWY TEMPO 35015KT 4000 DU
  3. Is there any reason/clue of this accident? even there is no information on Avherald.
  4. It was terrific attack to Ataturk Airport. We are very sad about that. Isis (or Daes) is insistent take into war to Turkey last 2-3 years. Foreign press doesn't interest about rocket fire and small attacks, firing from syrian border tor Turkey. Isis continuesly annoying to Turkey. I don't know what will be happend in near future. Btw, something takes my attention. Very interesting, those CNN reporters were in every attack in Turkey before local reporters! How it could be? In every bombing or events, never missed!....CNN reporters are the first in there! (some times BBC)...you can say "conspiracy theory" or not, it takes my attention.
  5. As far as I understand, Korean Airlines was not only runway incursion, also they were wrong runway instead of rwy15R, this is much better mistakes than incursion. (according by avherald airport map and runway&taxiway desgination)
  6. hmmm, it seems like as "mini" Teneriffe accident, but this time very lucky! Let we see when investigation report released; cockpit crew, tower or tow operator?
  7. It's a sadly accident, rest in peace to all victims and condolences to their families. Security camera shows a "fire ball" drops from sky. It is confused my mind. Is there any clear information about second attempt of approach?
  8. hmmm, as far as I understand; no more notebook or tablet computers can't be carry by passenger in cabin. Also paperless cockpit turns to paperly cockpit because of no EFB anymore. is it true?
  9. Lovely great picture with new retro bird of THY. The name of plane is "Kushimoto" which is given first foreign name on a plane in Turkish aviation history. "Kushimoto" is a small city name from Japan that is related by a disaster as know as "Ertugrul disaster 1890" and becomes a deeply friendship between Ottoman and Japan empire. ( if it takes your interest https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottoman_frigate_Ertugrul )
  10. It's amazing story. I have really respect to American's, about to their loyality to aviations.
  11. wow, it's really hard competition for both airport! I think Gatwick wins!
  12. Maybe cabin door closed properly but not properly sealed when cabin pressure balanced. As far as I know there are a lot of indicators about cabin door mechanics (electronics) closed and locked on the door panel and cockpit. But pressure sealed feature is apart of massive cabin door itself and there is no indication does it sealed properly or not when not pressure yet. Except cabin altitute (cabin pressure) alert. As you know, Cabin pressure system starts at 10K feet effectively. If there is problem about pressurization, cabin altitute alert system will be engage after 10K feet. Already, passangers healthy problems are shown to cabin pressure lack.
  13. Not much like that but probably the same destiny will be waiting for 3rd airport; a lot of buildings near of airport! They would be completed the project like as planned, runways, terminals etc. First phase and runway will be operational in middle of 2018 and will be fully completed until 2020. They don't have any preventation about keeping distance residences area or non-civilization area around the airport. The land prices rised up like as rocket almost +%500~+%1000 (yes it's true, 5 or 10times more). It means, those lands will be turn on constructions. I don't have a positive hope to keep green. There are a lot of question marks. The best side; When completed new airport, Turkish Airlines deals with A380 operators or give orders to Airbus at least 10 plane. Ahh....a political issues, ofcourse if Turkish airlines orders A380, they must be orders B748 to Boeing.....like as everytime! almost the same orders for "balance" politics. Gökcen airport's 2nd runway will start up this year as we expected. Honestly I'm really curious how they will do?!? 15 years ago, ther were empty area, no buildings or residental areas! After opened Gokcen Airport, there were crowded suddenly. They had need to expropriation much for getting room for 2nd runway! After it will done, gokcen airports looks like much better. The pictures is not include that new planned residental areas around the field. Some of them locate near of end of 2nd runway! translate; HABOM= it's a technical facilities by Turkish Airlines (still operative) YENI PIST= new runway YENI KULE=new tower uydu terminaller= remote/satellite terminals mevcut terminal= existing terminal Terminal yapilacak=planned new terminal Yol yer altina aliniyor= existing surface road will be underway
  14. But, KLIA project is a "model airport", how you made an airport properly. Location, transportation, distance from city center, expension plans, terminal designs etc. At least seems like from here. Is there any residental area with airport or airport is only stand alone project in there. I think it's second one. I don't know what you are thinking about Putrajaya, is it an expensive invest by Malaysian people's taxes, is it a logical project according by Malaysian, especially KL's people? Ofcourse I really don't know what kind of social and political problems in Malaysia. We says "drums sounds good from far away" in this situation. I'm sure politicians are the same everywhere. They are expecting too much things from 3rd airport especially passanger counts. It's true, Ataturk airport passanger traffics grows up with Turkish Airlines pushes. I don't know how Turkish Airlines grows much more? It is not logical about speed of growth. They are playing for "transit passanger market" but Istanbul is not a busy junction for transit passangers except carries by Turkish Airlines. Meanwhile, there is no serious transportation solution to new airport! except highway! They are planning a metro-railway line with integrated 3rd bridge (will be completed in 5 months) to Anatolia side (but we don't know where to be end yet) and joined existing a line comes from city center in Europe side. Thats all, I don't know it is enough or not. As you can see airport has 4 parallel runways which are direction north to south (like 18/36 +/- a few degress). Istanbul has sessional winds conditions. The major winds from north to south the most of year but sometimes we have strongly southern winds which is name "Lodos" in Turkish. There is just only one runway (5th runway) for southern winds which is direction west to east! (in normally it must be like 05/23 runways in LTBA) According me, 3rd airport is a bit sauciness. We could handle with near airport Corlu (LTBU)airport. As I said that, behind the 3rd airport, it is a part of huge residental civilisations project with others. Former PM's dreams is; to be a brand city of Istanbul with modern residental areas (also precious lands), new airports and "new Istanbul". The canal divide The Istanbul and middel part become "manhattan" like a new precious living area where the place to be need more taxes and pay for priviliged life!
  15. Affirm......but, do you have "madness project" too?
  16. There is no certain plan to close Ataturk Airport when 3rd airport opened but government is very insist about to create for new "shopping malls and recreation area with residences complex". It means Istanbul seems like a "simcity" right now! Too much buildings rising up to sky, everywhere is under construction. A government association TOKI is trying to get under control of this huge precious area from the government and Istanbul mayority. TOKI does for "managed the public-government area" instead of actual duty "to make low end user to residence complex with low cost", nowadays in Istanbul and it is really bother to people about to rising up populations and prices of lands. The most of peoples thinks about to keep Ataturk airport for non-schedule and cargo operations. Also we need a backup airport while waiting a strongly destructive earthquake in Istanbul into 30 years. 3rd airport is too far away from city center but it is not a simple "huge" airport project. 3rd Airport project is connect/related with some "madness projects" belong of former prime minister's Erdogan. So it is not an innocent project. -First of all, airport location is very complicated about weather conditions. Blacksea coasts are very strong windy in most of times the year. -there were "north forest" of Istanbul...but now the most of part destroyed for highways and new residence area. It means, the weather of IStanbul will be change beyond, no more fresh air which is comes from forests. -a new highway is connected with 3rd airport and 3rd bridge where located north of bosphorus. When you build the new highway, you can not stop the civilization along the ways!, much more forest and agriculture area will be destroyed! -there are a plan to make new city around the airport which is name "New IStanbul", almost accomodate 1.5m people more. -another madness project is "canal Istanbul" which is planned from Blacksea coast west of airport and goes to Marmara sea crossed and connected lakes. It does for; closed to vessels traffic of bosphorus. But the problem is, it is not a canal! new huge and crowded residences, offices, shopping malls would be build up along the canal and Istanbul divided 3 parts. Middle parts becomes like as "manhattan". Really idiotic project! Finally, we would be get just only a new airport, we would have a real trouble with the new airport in Istanbul.....Once again we are thinking about to move Malaysia!
  17. Ok, got it, finally I found some clues; "Monarch Airlines’ former Airbus A330-243 G-SMAN (msn 261) has found a new home. G-SMAN arrived back at Birmingham from Cambridge after repainting. The airliner will become 9M-AZL with Eaglexpress Air Charter who will operate it on behalf of flynas." Normally, it must be shown "eaglexpress air charter" notice in the database that I looking but the most of records shows Monarch (G-SMAN) to Flynas (9M-AZL)no leased info by AircharterXpress. Anyway, I think she is the first A330 in flynas fleet for long haul. Seems really nice picture at KLIA.
  18. Why Flynas is registered with 9M-AZL? is she leased from AirAsiaX? I can't trace the registration, no info about any Malaysian company.
  19. Still there is no official infotmation from security and ministers about the reason of explotion. Some of news said that, there were minor damage on 5 other planes that they have taken under maintenance and will be able given service as soon.
  20. Here is my favoite Turkish airlines pilot's records while approaching to rwy 25 in heavy strong and gusty winds at LTBA, Ataturk Int. Airport,Istanbul. "Lodos" is a local name of the strong southern winds. It is really nightmare for pilots in here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBC4F0q9upI
  21. Capt Radzi, are you asking for TK flights? Meanwhile, A380s must be wait for new 3rd "mega" airport, because of there no parking slot in IST anymore....even for baggage carts! They are living parking slots problem with new B777s also. New airport setting up for more parking slots and capable for A380. But I'm not sure they can be fill up the A380 as profitable even TK growing up at least %20 percent every year. Latest report says TK crossed 50million passanger limit in a year. GM of Turkish Airlines says that; "the target is grow up in Africa section".
  22. A little notice about Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Second runway has ben planned 5 years ago and now after solving techinal issues, construction offers has been result. New second parallel runway will be 3500mts and allowed to land A380. As you know Pegasus airlines has been ordered more than 100 A320(includes NEO) which will be competed delivery until 2022. Turkish Airlines also adding new routes from Sabiha Gokcen airport day by day. Qatar airways started to fly second daily flight o Gokcen airport. It would be options to other airlines such as Emirates, Saudia or etc. It means passanger counts would be rapidly growing up in ISG.
  23. Looks like Bombardier new C series and Airbbus A350 mixed. On the other hand, it is really smart invest about to China market that is ready to order at least 500planes in a year. China aviation is expending every year and it would be really profitable market for this new plane. Good job.
  24. is it possible to "no damage sign" both alongside of the nose section, leading edges, engines cowls front sections/edges and engines fan blades on this heavy "hail"?
  25. well, I don't know the budget is important or not, also I don't know FRA (transit airport) is mandatory, why you don't check out Turkish Airlines, or MH code share flight to TLS via IST with Turkish Airlines ? Turkish Airlines flights from KUL to TLS has IST transit airport as KUL-IST-TLS. 5.5 hrs waiting time in IST. You maybe check it if you wish.
