  1. Here is my sharing post flights in narrative. (A) OD1651 06/04/17 2 Captains, 5 FA, slightly 100 over passengers, 10 minutes early arrival; brand new aircraft (9M-LNZ) transferred from sister carrier, Batik Air. 2 muffins, 1 sausage bun, 1 mineral water, 1 cup of orange juice. Predicable turbulence dealt in a professional manner, overall very nice first experience with OD. Sadly , this route is no more again in less than 2 weeks time. ( OD2106 06/04/17 Retimed notice received prior to 4pm, delayed about an hour; aircraft arriving late from DMK. Same as 1st leg, 2 flight deck crew with 5 FA. Another set of crew deadhead to PEN (believed to be operating the next day morning flight back to KUL). Loads was pretty healthy. Received one of Malindo's troll master: 9M-LNC. One of the passenger even ask the cabin crew: No TV?? Replied was: This is a new plane.... Landed at PEN at 12.10am. Service was a cup of Orange Juice... © OD 2103 08/04/17 review: No retimed notice issued this time, upon seeing FIDS, only found out that flight had been delayed slightly by 35 minutes. What a luck to be able to on board on 1 of the only 6 B737-900ER in Malaysia as originally I didn't plan to be on this flight. Due to a sudden jump at ticket price by MH at the time of booking, I had no choice but to switch over. Loads are almost full, few empty seats only. Many Indians, Bangladesh and even few Caucasians on board which connects to other destinations upon arrival at KUL. Cabin Crews greets passengers well and actively assisting in the boarding process as many foreign passengers adopt "free seating". Service was a cup of orange juice. A small pillow in Batik Air prints was placed in each seat which was a nice touch (I think only on the 900 series as they fly longer routes normally). The shortfalls comes when the flight deck decides to use half of the runway for takeoff rolls, they gave the crews members under 30 seconds intervals to prepare themselves in jump seats which was a "Phew" to me; pity those crews, luckily they react quick and grab an empty seats as soon as possible. Landing approach is good. (D) MH2598 08/04/17 review: Upon disembark from OD2103, went on to do my bag drop for this flight before doing some layover visit at a mall nearby. Loads are low for this flight, aircraft deployed is 9M-MSF. Meals choices were between fish rice in SiChuan style or Chicken Murtabak, I went for rice while my brother went for Murtabak. 2 male crews looks still young, 1 female crew and 1 senior FA in red kebaya. Now the "fun things" that occurred was the Senior FA announced this flight was bound for KCH, we thought she will correct it when repeat the announcement in English; but NO! Until her subordinates went in front only then the PA rang again and apologized to passengers for the error. I wander what's wrong, is Senior FA in red kebaya, rarely seen in domestic flights now I believe. Flight left KUL for MYY on time. By 10pm after late dinner, they dimmed the lights for passengers to get some rest. Arrival on time at 11.20 pm with some "hard brakes" and only half runways were used. (E) Conclusion Final thoughts for Malindo Air: With the ongoing "trial and errors" traits plus frequent delays and cancellation of flights / routes despite being in operation for 4 years, it is not advisable to buy their flights way in advance. That aside, judging from my experience with OD1651, OD2106 and OD 2103; will I chose them again for future travel arrangement? Definitely a yes, the cabin crew out-performed Malaysia Airlines counterparts now; flight deck crew I think not bad also. Ongoing influx of new planes from Lion Air's huge order book is an added bonus. Things to improve would be on time performance and bring back Buy On Board meals for flights that is more than an hour. Really not enough to have complimentary snacks only when it is meals time.
  2. Just go for C, no need think; sometimes MH Business Promo is cheaper than the Flex also when only Flex is available (though it's rare).
  3. Was still in the air last night with MH2598 while this incident happened, and again...met another captain that applied hard brakes and used half of the runway only! I really cannot accept, making a U turn got that hard??! Loads was low as well...
  4. This is something I don't understand as well, is weird enough for them to take over an hour to turn a narrowbody aircraft around! Will be logging OD1651, OD2106, OD 2103 & MH 2598 this coming weekend...I am ready to sample OD for the first time; let see how it goes. But judging from the past OTP, I am prepared for the delays perhaps...
  5. Wow, really cutting back East Malaysia operations again! Where does those planes go? sigh...More International flights perhaps
  6. Despite more and more planes coming on board, yet after a barely 9.5 months; they still decided to chop off the reintroduced KUL-MYY-KUL services.
  7. Till today I still don't get the logic of Malaysia Airlines buying new ATR 72-600 for Fireflyz and MASwings and yet after a brief operation, they decided to ground all 600 series and kept them in storage.
  8. MYY, BKI, LMN, KCH, KUL, SZB, PEN, LBU SBW, BTU (MASwings transit flight, stay on board).
  9. Day dream on paper, how many BIMP-EAGA routes by MASwings still survived till today?

I receive a snap picture of the internal email from someone, quoting "continuous initiatives to drive load factors from now until year end" as the reason for this rock bottom offer across the ATR services board. So for the RAS community, it is a good news no matter what as we got no choice on majority of the routes and their normal fares is pretty high! Back to the good old argument that I had always believe in, get your plane as full as possible rather than flying empty! Remember that their on time performance had been quite poor sometimes for nearly a year or so already; so I believe on routes that where Air Asia is available, majority will choose them. My brother just flown BTU-MYY yesterday evening, not more than 25 persons for a 72 seats plane.
  11. Customers / Flyers feel the pain when they spin off the taxes from the base fares shown, I had seen quite a number of people talking about this lately. Remember Malaysia Airlines now adopting all in pricing (Fares, surcharges, taxes all inside the fares you see when you searching for flights), I do not believe MAB do not charge surcharges anymore as MASwings and Fireflyz still having surcharge. Take MASwings current RM 62 all in fares promotion to be an example, RM 2 base fare with RM 60 taxes to make up RM 62 all in price. Does that sounds ridiculous? It all depends on the flyers to judge whether I am willing to pay for that figure or not for the sectors that I want to fly. And back to MAB, I am holding an Enrich redemption ticket bound for KUL from MYY middle of next month, and yet I still need to pay RM 68.90 per way all in for all the taxes and surcharges. So at the end of the day, compare the prices and timing among all available options and choose the one that best fit your needs. But still, you had to admit that OD "economy promo" buckets has been quite expensive compare to the earlier days.
  12. My friend just back from KUL on OD1650 this morning, he sent us a picture showing the crews ready at the gates around 9am (dont know what time they were at there, pictures received few minutes before 9) for a scheduled 0915 departure. In the end, the flight only took off an hour later, 1017 based on F24. The strange thing is does the delay purposely done or really they need more time to fix some problems (be it technical or non technical)? (I can see that the aircraft rotation for some OD B737 is still quite loose, for instance 9M-LNZ only run KUL-MYY-KUL-SIN-KUL for today's daytime before heading Mumbai tonight.) I am still finding a chance to log my own first ever OD flight, but with such frequent delays and higher prices than before; maybe this "project" will still be temporarily categorised as KIV.
  13. I thought they gonna put some premium cabin for the A321...
  14. Same here, it's better for them to spin off the mainline to avoid anymore "lucky draws". Anyway, I don't know how to react on this. From passengers point of view, is definitely good; but from the business strategy sense given those multiple turnaround, it's shall suggest otherwise. If LCC or "leisure flights" is doable, they should get it done right in the first place instead of withdrawing it due to shares swap. Still, the best option is, consolidate turboprop operation into one brand with one business model; spin off those non BSI fleets for "leisure flights' and beef up the standards for the mainline. And what is "leisure flights" by the way, they need to define it. For existing routes, perhaps they can split out in say a 40 (LCC): 60 (FSC) ratio so that passengers have a choice and do not cannibalise themselves. Meaning if one route is served 5 times daily, transform 2 flights to LCC & maintain the other 3 as FSC. Whatever it is, let's see how they go about in the future. Malindo or Batik Air Malaysia future looks promising...

I am well aware of that. My argument point is why returned and trying to sell off the 4 units that had already being delivered and yet they are facing frequent retimed flights until the wee hours. Not a good sign in the long run, not only to passengers, the crews and those related parties on the ground also (ground crews n taxi drivers or whoever need to pick passengers).

Did one day return to Labuan from Miri with them on 1st June 2016. Fares paid RM 156.54 round trip. Outbound: 1040am (On time) ; Inbound: 835pm (delayed to 0920pm) Equipment: 9M-MWA & 9M-MWH At least the cabin condition and temperature is acceptable compared to 9M-MWC last month. For the outbound, as there are two flights boarding at the same time; the cabin crew did an extra work of verifying passenger boarding pass just to ensure that no one board the wrong plane. Good. Inbound served by an all male crew. Delayed notification was sent to us near midday. The propeller frequencies sounds a little sharp than normal. Overall, I should say; for now, flying MASwings you need to be lucky enough of not getting serious delays as delays till wee hours for night flights still occurred quite frequently. Hopefully, with the upcoming "overhaul" of ATR fleets within MH group; overall cabin experience can be maintained and even improved. Anyway, I still not really understand why the 600 series induction was halted for them while FY continue to get 600 series.
  18. FY free baggage allowance is now 15 KG ONLY for new booking from this month onward.
  19. Malindo Air is bringing back KUL-MYY-KUL & KUL-KBR-KUL from 1st July 2016, seriously hope this round they can sustain it.
  20. Malaysian one this Suasa Air? B737-400? Ex-MH bird like Rayani?

Just been on MH3806 last evening, KCH-SBW-BTU-MYY; seriously speaking, though the software (crews services) still up to one's expectation on board MH Groups', the hardware (the cabin) itself is really in a dated shape (with stuffy cabin somemore), it's real bad to see a less than 10 years old plane looks like the good old F50!...they really need to do something on it or get us back the 600 series!! Guess if no improvement is done, their's load will be in a much pathetic state. While waiting for my flight AK 6181 bound for KCH on 1st, counted the first daily services to LMN, only 3 to 5 persons.

http://www.theborneopost.com/2016/04/12/passengers-hit-by-long-flight-delays/ Can someone tell why cant they just bring up their ATR72-600 while getting the 500 series fixed???!!! Heard many unhappy paxs as delays happened too frequent and too long, joining MH3806 on the 2nd May.... And mind you the 500 series is less than 10 years old somemore
  23. Hi all, Anyone here holding the above mentioned, especially the former one with BIG points earning? I hold both for now. It's really a BIG mad now ever since they do system migration which is like forever, transactions done but points never being updated; 1st time chased them for long only being done (which is over 3000 points inclusive processing fees bonus). And now I guess the cases are too much already, for the 2nd round, they are throwing the ball (points not updated problem) between Think Big Digital SB & Tune Money SB. Anyone having problem as well for now? They gave me so called VIP members with higher wallet limit ever since converted from VISA to MASTERCARD, all this while so far so good; it's since the system migration points never pop out, and yet I still have Air Asia savers points pending, I am waiting whether that one will be updated or not.
  24. Build up domestic network first before talking about interlining and code sharing please OD! Not going abroad so much first...and testing here and there...
