  1. I guess BKK (commencing next week) could well be one of the three
  2. Yes, say total 10 minutes lobbed off a KUL-PEN-KUL run (even allowing for aerobridgeless operation at KLIA2) how much time can be recovered in course of a day ? Sufficient to squeeze in another such run out of the aircraft ? At a time of the day where there will be enough pax to make it commercially viable ? Not according to picture in the Star online today https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2018/08/07/lcct-in-penangs-flight-plan-terminal-will-help-airport-cope-with-rising-number-of-travellers-visitin/
  3. Pictures here: http://www.malaysianwings.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=480&page=13
  4. It would seem that Xiamen Air has dropped the PEK-BKI route and now re-routing traffic via a Fuzhou (FOC) stopover instead ?
  5. Neither are those Chinese cities done daily Wonder who is undertaking these charters - local or Chinese party ?
  6. You see, that would be the worrying part - why were they undertaking maintenance on bits of an aircraft that is supposedly retired from service ? My simple brain can only come up with options of wastage or resurrection
  7. I assume it's Malindo/Batik charters that now see flights to/fro BKI from secondary Chinese airports such as Yiwu (YIW), Zhengzhou (CGO), Changsha (CSX) and Wenzhou (WNZ) last couple of days (of which the latter two, I had previously years ago been stranded at, courtesy of Chinese fog )
  8. Don't give them ideas - may end up resurrecting the Skyhawks instead
  9. Well yes, four years does seem a rather lengthy period of time to conclude "the Air Traffic Controller did not comply with certain Standard Operating Procedures" and for someone to bear the honorable burden - it's not like they had to scour the ocean floor for evidence of that non compliance
  10. Was the aircraft parked nearby a functioning but electively unutilised aerobridge ?
  11. In my humble opinion, there isn't much that beat ignominy of having to trudge down those red AK steps, walk up to the inactivated aerobridge, clamber up the 'service' stairs to said aerobridge, proceed into airport terminal and thereafter walk down stairs into arrival hall cum baggage reclaim station The physical part of it I personally can (thankfully) manage still. But the absurdity of that exercise just so we (pax) collectively skimp on a ringgit or two each, irrespective of exposure to the elements (heat, rain etc) and physical challenges (old, infirmed, handicapped etc) - that takes some mental adaptation
  12. Entire Khazanah board resigns, leaves leadership decision to PM from: https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2018/07/26/khazanah-directors-resign-leave-leadership-decision-to-pm/#pfd597jo8lE8DhCt.99 Culling from the top down it would seem
  13. We're all so obsessed with Labu International, seemingly at expense of considerations on merits and/or otherwise of the manufacturer's FAL proposal
  14. That picture shows me another reason why a move to Kimanis is not necessary - where is the congestion ?!
  15. Malaysia Airlines taps lenders for first jet financing since revamp from: https://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2018/07/24/malaysia-airlines-taps-lenders-for-first-jet-financing-since-revamp/#WwqhdQ5sjUrBfYCX.99 Brutal honesty there ..... ..... and here But there is always sugar daddy about at the end of day
  16. If Labu LCCT jadi as well, the term 'factory fresh' for those new airbuses to be delivered in future will take on a whole new meaning
  17. The pettiness of it all
  18. The cynical me say Tan Sri TF will get his way and T2 will again be painted red But not before the place is done up big time, another multi billion ticket, likely ending up beyond scope he wants - just get a page out of KLIA rule book Money ? Of course you need to spend to keep it circulating, and there is always the Chinese tap on hand too Space ? TAED is now at best gonna be scaled down, maybe even scrapped - lots of adjoining land already acquired and needing to be found a new use for Seem like groundwork already being laid Liew: Upgrades must be done before KKIA Terminal 2 reopens from: https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2018/07/21/liew-upgrades-must-be-done-before-kkia-terminal-2-reopens/#horDtklFdgxxY8uF.99
  19. Not formerly SIBUGA was it ?!
  20. Trump says new Air Force One will be painted red, white and blue from: https://www.scmp.com/news/world/united-states-canada/article/2155791/trump-says-new-air-force-one-will-be-painted-red Wonder if it will look anything like our MH's colours ?!
  21. When I first read about MH134 being stranded, I was somehow reminded of Terry's recollection of his 'adventure' at SGN earlier http://www.malaysianwings.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21233&page=4
  22. I was once seated at a cattle class G seat at back end on upper deck of a MH 380 The rearmost H and K seats were supposedly blocked off for crew rest along the way, which meant they would be left vacant at take off and landing Somehow I managed to get cabin crew's consent to park myself at 40K during those stages of flight, specifying specifically it was for purpose of taking pictures/videos through the window So, if there was any standing instruction then to "switch off all electronic devices", said crew must have been kind enough to have overlooked my indiscretion
  23. Maybe this is best chance ever to see a dugong flight into BKI/KCH/PEN
  24. So, has there been any effective MAVCOM measure taken so far to resolve the current disruptions to MH's services as described in separate thread here ? http://www.malaysianwings.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21303&page=2 Plenty of people inconvenienced and in dispute for sure
