  1. No worries bro, just go to RSFC, take PPL, and fly as much as you want. Tapau McD and can have all the excellent food onboard. It's not easy to manage an airline which already at the end of the cliff. You have to bargain a bit la, certain things MH did just to survive,i don't blame them, but if they were to keep those "stupid" snackbox until vision 2020, then i might be frustrated just like everybody else ...still tonnes of people are looking for the so called "stupid" thing despite they were given hot meals... People are never satisfied. Anyway, the meals be it GCC or EY are always dry and yucks...nothing beats nasi kandar i can tapau after flight.
  2. Power guys! Ewan ade gaya capt la!hehe
  3. Muahaha...I purposely roll to the end...hehehe...Now i know where you guys spotting!Kuching spotters where r u? come go yamcha la..hehe...
  4. At least not until both settle the issue with JHB-SIN bridge... interesting idea though...at that time the new issue would be to name it Malaysia-Singapore or Singapore-Malaysian Airlines...??? Who will win?, SMS contest.
  5. Found this book at Popular Bookstore Sunway Pyramid. I think this is a good book for reference. Might be to detail for an interview but as the title suggest... 'Ace The Technical Pilot Interview' by Gary V. Bristow
  6. The requirement more or less are the same. Now, there's no more credit in SPM since the introduction of open cert. So credit meaning C6 equivalent to B4...which doesn't make any different. Anyway, Air Asia pilot must be able to count faster since their transit time is shorter
  7. :good: Ewan, nice video! I think Top Gun soundtrack is the best aviation album. 1 more to add Danger Zone also by kenny loggins
  8. Making decision as a pilot is totally different thing from making decision of what you want to take now. It's a skill you learn while flying. Even now captain and co pilot normally discuss on a lot of things in flight. If i can make split second decision as to whether i want to have teh 'o' ais or milo ais, still that doesn't make me a good decision maker. My suggestion, apply for cadetship now. The opportunity won't come everyday. If you get it, go and grab it. If you want to go to flying school yourself, the risk will be there. I was jobless for 4 months before i joined MAS. My batchmate scattered all around, few flying the fokker 50 and twin otter, some 727, Dash 7,B733 and A320 and some lucky enough to be flying SIA B744 at the age of 21yrs old. Lately, I have not seen any private candidate joining MAS. Job is always there, but you cannot be picky as to what aircraft you want to fly later.
  9. Doesn't matter whether it's a myth or not. Have you ever listen to radio while having your handphone nearby? That noisy interference sound (tet...tet..tet...) can sometimes be heard on the radio. It's very irritating. Until they have something to shield that, just leave your handphone to off. Photographer on board, keep on clicking ok!
  10. I just checked in the Safety manual, Camera can be used at any phase. But taking pictures or video, hmmm???
  11. There's 2 categories of Portable Electronic Device (PED) Group A - Transmitting devices(e.g handphone) The usage of this devices are strictly prohibited in the aircraft through any phase of flight. Group B - Non Transmitting devices(e.g CD player) Can be used except during Take off, approach and landing also emergencies. However, electronic wristwatches and cameras can be used during all phases of flight.
  12. Coffee with the final RM8 is it? Good luck with the ATM...hehe...
  13. Judging from the live interview after he went onboard ISS...i guess not...hehe..
  14. My opinion, an advance flightsimmer can do an autoland. Not manual landing. Reason being the aircraft is fast. 140kts charging to the ground and flare last minute is not easy to be swallowed by first timer on manual flight. In real life, the air isn't that smooth, constant correction needed. Thrust levers are heavy.Controls feels weird. My best advice to anyone, make a mayday call, check the amount of fuel you have. Then try to fly the aircraft using autopilot if endurance permitted. Then request radar vector for autoland.
  15. I'll bring tonnes of questions and leave the cockpit with answers plus autograph, date, flight number, UTC time, aircraft position and pictures.
  16. This happened to me recently...only it was caused by the cabin crew who sprayed perfume in the toilet.
  17. No wonder the bang sound...hehe...Thanks!
  18. If they have rudder and speedbrakes, I'm sure they use elevons for the gliding maneuver. RCS thruster for the rotational and linear thrust in space ??
  19. I think it's a windshear. At high altitude, the high speed and low speed stall margin is very small. Sudden change in wind direction can cause the aircraft to go into low or high speed buffet.
  20. More than 100 people relying on 1 engine is a big problem and also dangerous. Luckily the engine separated nicely.
  21. Capt Nik, nice video! Reminds me of my Fokker 50 days...even the flight ops looks exactly the same. Just like the good old days...hehe...
  22. Nice bro! Looks like a Zodiac Ch640. Can we rent the aircraft?
