  1. From what I know, Pelangi aircraft were financed by by a local bank and when the company had financial difficulties, the bank seized the aircraft. Probably they were waiting for good offers for the aircraft without knowing that an aircraft that doesn't fly loses its value pretty quick. As for the "propeller fondling" I too do it everytime before I fly - to check for damage, cracks, etc.
  2. So we now have our future all secured up with Norman's heir taking up the challenge. Well done Norman.
  3. Which is more convenient and yet reasonably priced ..... Oxford Hotel (as suggested by TK) or Traders Hotel?
  4. What a sad ending to a beautiful aircraft.
  5. Heh heh I'm an RR fan....especially after an MH T7 landed with no lubricant left in an engine (2 engines?) and it (they?) were still turning.
  6. Wow, your pics are getting beter and better, Norman.....and Azahan's nose jobs never fail to impress.
  7. Bro TK My mouth's watering - from the food you eat, the in-cockpit views, your D200, the beautiful blue in that external window shot of the Lobster, etc., etc. Thanks for the CDG taxi comments - very complicated indeed but maybe not as complicated as the taxi charts of KUL for the satellite bays. I'm also curious about the console next to your Milo cup. It looks like an LCD screen with some butttons but obviously it's not frequently used looking at its position behind your side window. Is the "QR-EJ" below your aircraft ID your SELCAL code or something? And how does LeeCH know that you have a manual humidifier from your pics? What's the humidifier for anyway? Sorry for asking a lot Bro but hey it's free isn't it? Anyway thanks very much for those shots especially the FMC, PFD and ND shots - they tell a lot without you having to put them in words for us.
  8. Welcome aboard Trieu (maybe you should correct your name's spelling in your profile). Thanks for the VVTS shots especially the TG in the sun's rays. VNA's new livery is certainly one of the best alongside TG.
  9. Pieter and Eric Thanks for those exciting shots. Schipol's one of my favourite airports.
  10. Thank you, Tony. I love your close-up shots (CX, UA) and that A380.
  11. Thanks for the shots, Liam, especially the crop-dusters and the turboprops. Like Norman, I too am a King Air fan.
  12. Azahan Your rotation nose shots are somehow always sexy and I mean plenty of oomph. Thanks. Azman That TG takeoff is really dramatic....and that fence makes it really heart-stopping. Danke.
  13. The Experimental Aircraft (EA) category only applies to the licensing of the aircraft, not of the pilot. He still has to report the incident. In the old days EA's can be home-built as long as at least 50% of the construction is carried out by the owner-pilot. Maintenance can be carried out by the owner-pilot provided he satisfies the DCA that he is technically capable of carrying out the work. I'm not able to confirm whether ESB's aircraft are EA's or licensed under another category because they are being used for flying training. Could EAT stand for Experimental Aircraft Trainer?
  14. ESB is very popular with young student pilots. The Zodiac runs on MOGAS (your premium car fuel) which is much cheaper than AVGAS. Somehow I have never liked the "feel" of that aircraft.
  15. Thanks for the clarification on APU use, TK. I use LFPG often on FS9 and I notice you have to taxi very long to the runways and vice-versa. They even have roundabouts for taxying. Which parking gates do they usually assign to MH? Looks like T, U or V.
  16. TK When's your next story? More pictures in the cockpit and the gear wells please, can ah?
  17. I guess the checklist would have read "...Spoilers Armed... Autobrake Set .... Parking Brake Set...." heh heh. Obviously they now have to design something to prevent the parking brake from being "armed" during flight.
  18. The PIA's another great one from you Azahan - it reminds me of a newborn baby - so innocent. Thanks. LeeCH I'll be there on Feb 5 if I can help it.
  19. That double AA!! wooh...thanks, Azman.
  20. Thank you Azahan and LeeCH. Rare pics indeed. If not for the rain, you both would have got some excellent shots. Best of luck on the 6th.
  21. Company politics is everywhere around the globe. Controlling shareholders decide who should run the companies. If the appointed guys are professional in their management and are not under pressure from the controlling shareholders to deviate from this, the companies do well. Otherwise, the companies and the minority shareholders will bear the losses arising from the "siphoning" of corporate assets. Where these companies are government-owned the taxpayers are the losers.
  22. Yeung H Try visiting http://www.askcaptainlim.com/ where many questons about pilot interviews are answered.
  23. Fantastic shots, Ridhwan. The rain made them more lively. Wish someone had caught TK waggling his wings over Seremban.
  24. Congrats Norman on your new partner - hitam manis pula. Azahan, that AK shot is really striking - can feel the wake turbulence and smell the Jet A1!
