  1. If training is already ongoing they should finish it theyre valuable assets. Maybe OD is scared those 330 crew would jump ship but it wouldnt make any sense as i believe many of them would already be signing contracts and bond on completion of training.
  2. 0 care for staff as usual. Also one small batch of pilots undergoing a330 type rating in france got recalled as well and are sitting ducks with no news at the moment and all their efforts to finish the type rating license went down the drain incomplete. Dunno what is the group doing at the moment. Od1005 was a max 8 flight today friends j class demoted down to y and usual no refund or change of flight provided.
  3. Think marketing didnt do well. Dunno how many times i have to inform my sabahan friends that there is a direct bki-bkk route. Also one note the moment i say it isnt airasia the regular reaction will be "wah sure expensive lah".
  4. The malindo flight had the longest holding probably burned off til near reserves so they had to divert. Came in at the wrong time, rain droplets was so thick that it made visibility so bad.
  5. Od1014 skiddled to MYY
  6. Very normal in IT when u have automated interline gds and unified system from ground up to baggage handling but hardware itself is unable to cope. The baggage weighting system have different subclasses and requires constant calibration by authorized programmer. I believe some of the pax bag have been weight wrongly by thin margin because of this. Thats why airport terminals in europe have the system separated with different OS and hardware but efficiency drawback is a concern and backup costs and transit passengers worse nightmare.
  7. Better not move back as they have many interline +codeshare deals with foreign airlines in process. Another no brainer politician barking again. LOL
  8. do note the airline industry seat pitch and width has been reduced by an average 2.5inch in 40years.
  9. Boeing try to market it as a b757 replacement but the 900er were only useful for the added row of seats and payload over the 738. The long extended fuselage and shorter landing gear were always a performance obstacle also takes runway length on mtow hot weather like mad. Also higher rated engine to compensate the performance drop to perform nearly like the 738 burns slightly more fuel. Same issue on the A321 except higher gear and better engines still feel its an underpowered plane that airlines loved to use nowadays over the a330-200.
  10. Theyre trying skim off senior cabin crews and force progress the lower rank crew and hire more young one to transition in. However many of the seniors still have plenty of years available hence temporary surplus and no pay scheme option offerred. SQ is also adjusting its crew roster to be more efficient and resourceful(same crap already happening in Malaysia) hence lower crew change required per multi pattern on regional shorter routes.
  11. Yeap thats the one they lock one door n block 2 rows occured on one my friends flight. The company is having rostering problem with people leaving even no folks to go standby have to pull in people with legal off days
  12. Still a rare occasion. Could also be senior crew reactivating back after long grounding/MC or long holiday. Longer 738 flights is doable for 4 crew during meal service as the serving period is adjustable. But for flights under 3 hours it can be hectic hence the silly meal box introduction to cut service time. The good ol days of 6 cabin crew on the 737 is no more. Just had a friend flew on TR post Scoot branding. Basically Jetstar is better in terms of seating and add on cost such as meals and baggage allowance. TR is basically traveling light and no frills add on.
  13. Probably SNY crew hence 5 crew which is super rare unless theres new batch in training.
  14. MH 3 crew now legal if ex station and nobody to sup in after retiming. Theyre really pushing them to the limit.
  15. The original offsite airport for bki was in Kuala Penyu and somewhere north of kota belud. However these area are weather generating areas prone to microburst especially right side of waypoint BIMUM and ADMUS. Some of turboprop pilots and GA pilots got happy the relocation plan did not succeed. Another note you would have to account is crew fatigue. Airlines nowadays are doing really close minimum resting period and they do not account the road trip airline crews take to report to work or returning back home which is very apparent for KLIA based crew. Even standby is risky that most have to report to KLIA in uniform when in places like KCH you would just wait at home for phone calls. With late night fatigue quite a number of them got into accident driving sleepy in KL, many have shifted to use KLIA transit but that is pricey and still needing car to get back home. Some relocate to nilai and sepang in the middle of nowhere is also an added inconvenience.
  16. afaik no sq codeshare or interconnect flights for tiger, while scoot has limited connecting flights at the moment.
  17. Expect BKI to be next. Thats how cheap our pax are.
  18. My Uncle missed his connecting flight on ka to bki due to late arrival from yvr in hkg. Cx booked him on mh flights to kul and then kul to bki. Funny he went all the way south then back to north east. All of this is also due to traffic flow in china.
  19. They needd to buff up the staff morale if they are to see improvement in service. So many tech crew leaving that they dont have enough pilots to fly the 737s. Situation is so bad but they are now only sourcing pilots from MASWings and MASWings itself is slow in hiring or the HR over there are not doing the job right. There are so many fresh jobless pilots and GA based pilots resume that got rejected by MASWings and only one ATR Sim sourced from firefly available it will be slow to transition the crew to MAS. If MAS does not broaden up its vacancy to outsiders it is likely not going to thrive soon. With this i don't think we will see any 5 star airlines in Malaysia anytime with how all the airlines in Malaysia cut costs and downgrade off the hard products.
  20. Getting a new brand for the airline could backfire. We havent even bring in to Lion Group's messing with batik and malindo. The old OD c/s works well but Lion scared of OD being associated with its OTP and management decided to roll it to Batik's branding but seeing it now it got even worse. Its wearing Batik color but operates like Lion Air dissociating itself from the premium travelers when the 737Max came in. As for MAS Negaraku livery i dun think flag livery would ever work on a fuselage of a plane. Take SQ A380 for example it didnt look nice at all. The flag has to be in different design and not feature stripes or certain colors for it to look good on a plane which unfortunately many country flags will not work.
  21. Must be the one in terminal 2. Looks very small haha.. Quite quiet compared to the usual one i see in SZB. Only used 2 reverse thrust.
  22. There's an IL76 coming from perth now.
  23. The Y seats already does not match OD and batik seat color scheme. It would nid a complete cabin overhaul and readjusting the seat pitch on Economy which is already reduced.
  24. The first 4 737 max are lion air configured so i guess, theyre really meant for lion. I had no idea why they decided it was a good idea to give them to malindo seeing all the complaints by business class passengers being strip to y. Looking at this photo i think theyre aware of the complaints by passengers.
  25. OD crew are sent randomly around usually in Indonesia and Thailand to get sim training done and those place also difficult to acquire slot. If they requested to do at MH it is even worse to get a slot in the sim 737ng and it is always in use 24/7 with very few off time periods. This is one of the reason airlines are looking for already type rated pilots instead of fresh flying school grads.
