  2. Great news!! ... thanks for the link Kenneth Wonder when will Tiger join in the fray Bad news for MH.... I don't think it will affect MI at all as most of its paxs are connecting from SQ's network & full flights most of the time
  3. According to a travel agent friend of mine in BKI, each flight has a total of 277 seats for sale in 2 classes. Most likely it will be operated by an MH 772 (configured C-35, Y-247, Total=282, maybe 5 seats blocked off for technical) And since MH has surpluses of unutilised aircrafts
  4. Clever! Never thought of that! Pretty funny too
  5. Timing is perfect for me. Perfect for business trips or weekend breaks @ either cities. (Actually there're more activities during these times @ Changi Airport, e.g. musical bands, performances, ah mois .... etc etc) AK uses T1, so you can access T2 & T3 transit area after check-in
  6. Silkair flight AOG in BKI on 03Oct MI397 BKI-SIN. Unable to retract main landing gear after take off. Pilot decided to turn around. All paxs were disembarked. Pilot & cabin crew flew back to Singapore paxless & with landing gear unretracted entire flight. Another aircraft was dispatched the following day for the stranded paxs. Anyone got anything?
  7. Anyone going to Changi to spot the Air Koryo (North Korea) TU204 early tomorrow morning? Teletext showing JS651 eta:0650
  8. Lahad Datu is LDU.... Not LHD larrr.....
  9. I must say the QF livery looks pretty good on an A380. Nice work there guys! Wish I was there...
  10. Finally, the North Korean bird is here. Where was it parked? And A380 galore in Changi nowadays. Many thanks for sharing KC!
  11. At that time, there's no such thing as internet booking. They didn't use travel agents to distribute their inventory. A few prop planes (I think). Nobody knew where to book, where they flew to/from, schedules, how much their airfares were, no proper marketing..... doomed to fail. And the unapealing name 'Saega'... what kind of name is that? (sounds like 'waste family' in Hakka)
  12. Time to set up an East Malaysian airline
  13. Looking at the picture & come to think of it. I was about to ask the question too Oh ya, Kenneth, did you ask IJ why the colorful seats in the B734 & A330?
  14. Excellent coverage there, Kenneth! Thanks for sharing such a historical event in Borneon aviation. Any water cannon salute? Agree!! Much much nicer & refreshing (The previous green ones looks horrible, as if with buzzing insects all over the fabric) That's Jane (or Jayne) on the right. Encountered her on several business trips to Lahad Datu. You must be starstrucked! (Hmmm..? Was it a windy day?) Wooo... Risesoon/Skymarks... with spinning propellers somemore!! Did u get any extra leftover goodie bags? ..heh heh (I want one too!)
  15. Wah! Very nice! Cabin interior looks very refreshing! Love the blades (propeller blades that is) Thanks for sharing, captain
  16. No worries. It will be a daily feature in BKI. It will be stationed in BKI solely for the BKI-LDU-BKI until they get the 2nd, 3rd... and so on aircraft.
  17. Copied & pasted from email sent to me by a travel agent friend. (Whom also copied & pasted from GDS screen)
  18. According to GDS' seatmap for MASWings' AT7 is as follows: 6 C seats, 1-1 config, rows 1-3 56 Y seats, 2-2 config, rows 4-18, No row 13 _ 0 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 1 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 1 2 3 _ 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 1 2 4 5 6 7 8 F C C C _ Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y D X X X _ Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y C X X X _ Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y A C C C _ Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y
  19. Thanks for the update Kenneth Wah.... finally Lahad Datu folks get to see/fly a different type of aircraft 12Sep: Launch in KCH 17Sep: Inaugural BKI-LDU Curious... what will happen in between... fam flights? When will it arrive in BKI. And I wonder will there be a 'water-spray' (water cannon salute) ceremony in Lahad Datu... if so what equipment are they going to use? Apart from IFEs, I heard from MH's insiders that there will be C-class cabin as well (demanded by traveling YBs and their entourage perhaps)
  20. Ah... Bandara SoeTa... don't know how many of my 'leg hairs' have already dropped there... (FYI, 'Bandara' is short for 'Bandar Udara'. Bahasa Indonesia for 'Airport'.... Indonesians love short forms )
  21. Wah! Is BKI it's first deployment?
  22. KA's B-HSK AOG is not due to any mechanical problem. It's because of Typhoon Nuri hitting HKG. All flights to/from HKG are suspended.
  23. Lovely close up shots there Sam... More! More!
