  1. Does MAS plan to fly daily into BNE soon, as they currently do 6x weekly. Also, AKL was one of those destinations that were meant to be suspended during the 9/11. Now it has almost full loads I believe. Hope they can introduce a double daily into AKL and maybe restart CHC ?
  2. Great to see MH restore flights into PER. But whats with the 7000 series ? Is it a code shared and operated by another airline ?
  3. Nice Shots !!!!! Ur so lucky Azahan !!!
  4. I think it is possible for VS to begin services into KUL because their agreement with MAS was renewed this year on a yearly basis and I am sure they have some hidden agenda behind that. Who knows, they may start a LHR-KUL-MEL/AKL route soon and maybe continue the code share with MH on the LHR-KUL-SYD as their LHR-HKG-SYD is apparently not doing too good (claims from another thread/ forum) So we may be able to see VS A346 or perhaps even a B744 soon on KUL's tarmac. As for BA, they have all the pros to restart KUL again but they are always hesitant!!!!
  5. Just read this on another aviation forum about A380. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-whis...-home-headlines
  6. Id like to think we are talking substance here but are these a round of rumours again about new carriers flying into KUL, like previously which never took off ? Oh by the way, MAS has decided to put on hold plans to fly to COCHIN and AMRITSAR but will add 3x flight ot DEL making it a daily connection between KUL and DEL. With this, MAS flies daily to DEL, BOM, MAA and thrice weekly to CCU,HYD, BLR and AMD. Lets hope they all survive with possible growth!!!!!
  7. Sandeep, You got all the points there which I am sure BA is aware off!!! But whats stopping them then ?
  8. Not only the figures, I don't understand why they don't know the difference between Air Nepal International and Royal Nepal Airlines !!!!!! BA to KUL sounds interesting, but stale news since they always say that, more so now it has become a tagline of BA to MAHB!!!! With QF behind them, all the more its impossible besides the yield issue!!! Let's wait and see how many of the mentioned airlines actually fly into KUL as a result of this conference. SHANGHAI, SHANDONG and perhaps ETIHAD; a slight chance of FINNAIR also....but the others, I doubt it!!!!!
  9. Hey Pieter, I am still uploading the photos from Dec'04 at AMS...sorry !!!!! Nice shots anyways !!!! You surely do lotsa spotting these days!!!
  10. Wow that's awesome!!!!! I wish I had done that when I was there for that one year !!!!!! But great shots !!!!!
  11. EI flying into KUL ? COuld be possible via a codeshare but starting services to KUL either with a stop in DXB or when they do get their B777, they may start services to SYD via KUL perhaps if it is possible. BA, as always, will not start operations because they are retricted by OWorld partner, Qantas, who wants SIN as their base in SEAsia. Unless BA has KUL in mind as a onward flight from BKK or MAA ? But its very unlikely to happen after all the fuss. But who knows, a miracle might happen. On FINNAIR, I think there is a high possibility now of a direct HEL-KUL-HEL flight especially after it was mooted by the Malaysian King's visit to Finland recently. It could be a great competition for MH on the KUL-ARN-KUL route. What amazes me also is that MAHB says it wants "a" European carrier to fly into KUL but hardly recognizes KL, LH and OS's presence here. It will be a big blow if these airlines decide to pull out of KUL.
  12. Hey Pieter, It is really stunning !!!! Reminds me of The Never Ending Story, except the lion is different.....!!!! But it looks awesome !!!!!! Kandiah
  13. Do you all remember when MAS at one time was keen to scrap MAN, ZRH, EZE, CPT and many more after 9/11 ?
  14. A friend of mine travelled from NGO to JNB sometime in July and August via KUL on MH and she told me the flight was almost full on all sectors (NGO-KUL, KUL-JNB, JNB-KUL, KUL-NGO) I know it does not necessarily mean the route is making a profit but does that also mean the airline could be making a marginal profit at least ? How about other routes such as FCO and ZRH which never seem to have an increase in frequencies ?
  15. I can't seem to find any information on TOP AIR nor TRANSAERO's website. I also read in the BTimes yesterday that TOP AIR is a Turkish Airline. Anyone with any info ?
  16. Extra aircrafts means more work for Pieter !!!!
  17. I think we should not only look at the major carriers for KUL, instead we can welcome them and hope they grow in Malaysia. I think STARAIR did not stop flying into KLIA because of the route itself, more so because of the airline going bankrupt or some sort. Nice to know Transaero starting flights into KUL. I never knew they had a B747.
  18. Besides LHR, AMS, SYD, MEL and perhaps PER, I would think:- CAN(A330 & B744) PVG (2 x B772) MAA (B744 & A330) SIN (A330 & B734) CGK (A330) CMB (A330) What do you guys think ? Someone once said BKI as well, but many a times, my friends who flew the KUL-BKI-KUL said the flight was always fully booked but the pax that actually board the plane are a handful. Azahan, on the INDIA-MALAYSIA-USA route, do they really have the least waiting time at KLIA compared to SIN or BKK ? Aren't the flights to LAX at noon everyday or about 1500hours ? Flights from India mainly arrive at around 5-8am. Almost half a day right ?
  19. Dear Forum Members, I was browsing through another aviation forum and there were discussions on the most profitable route for certain airlines such as BA, LH and QF. Lets start a new discussion thread on MH's most profitable route(s). Which city do you all think is MAS' most profitable route ?
  20. Yeah, NW used to fly KUL-KIX-DTW at one point in time once KLIA was opened. But sadly, the airline ceased operations into KUL for some obvious reasons. They used a DC-10 for the route. Currently, they code share with KLM on the AMS-KUL-AMS and pax have a great opportunity to transit at AMS on the many NW flights out of AMS. Perhaps someday they can fly to KUL via AMS. Perhaps DTW-AMS-KUL on a B744. Does anyone know what ever happen to First Cambodia ? I know it was not doing too well but total silence now. What about South African ? Did they ever fly into KUL or SIN ?
  21. Thanks Pieter. Does TG fly into AMS ? How about QF ?
  22. Yes thats true !! Pieter, remember when I was trying to describe to you about this airline that had a similar looking tail to AF ? However, is this news about Transaero flying into KUL for real or justa speculated rumour ?
