  1. This is why I firmly believe there should be rigorous regulation for e-cigarettes. Any fool (and there are many) can make a heating device that is battery powered. A company like Philip Morris (go google them) - have spent (so far) something like 10.5 billion US dollars to test until exhaustion new generation smoking devices. Granted, a lot of it was for clinical trials but a significant chunk of it was for the delivery device also. The goal is to develop products that the US surgeon general , WHO and medical authorities around the world can say WITH SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE is actually proven beyond doubt safer for you than conventional cigarettes. The fella selling from a small kiosk in mid valley claiming that it is safer actually can't claim that. To put it in perspective - one of those clinical trials alone - is in the order of 10 million USD. And you need many many trials. Not a game for small boys. So now you have some body who makes an e-vaping device that isn't very well engineered. What next ?
  2. oh i remember it. At one stage it had a green coat of paint (or was it rust) i dunno, but it was sitting there for the longest longest time.
  3. Tango Bravo is on the way back now as 130Delta.
  4. Already had one enhancement earlier this year - 2 a year would be cruel....
  5. This one kasi ketuk in Ah Mun spray & mudguard Besok boleh terbang I think .. 😛
  6. Better than nothing mah. Right now nobody believes it's even a proper airline to begin with
  7. Thanks for giving us an insiders view point. I agree with you it's good for the industry to see more players arise and make an effort. To me that's healthy. I'm glad to hear the airline is in progress and one day will fly. I think to a certain extent the negativity you sense may arise from the fact that the flying public is skeptical. I don't want to sound overly harsh but it stems from the Rayani PR/media machine. It is doing some good things like charity work, not to take anything away from it, but those activities do not convince the public that there are planes ready to fly. When it comes to airlines, where confidence in the service is king, maybe a different PR approach would work better. (engineering tours, documentary, interviews with staff etc)
  8. Earlier this year Etihad asked on twitter who would you like to be on our "lovely team" a) Pilot b ) Cabin Crew c) Inflight Chef i answered: Nicole Kidman
  9. I would say the article is correct and more importantly visionary! It just requires something very simple to happen, and I'm no geologist, but i don't see why not. All that article needs for it to be a journalistic masterpiece is for the earth's tectonic plates to shift overnight moving langkawi south past penang (bit tricky but should be able to squeeze past penang Island), past perak, and conveniently park itself near klang.
  10. Well I learnt something new! - In Mecca are there different stars of hotels? 5* 4* or all one standard of accomodation? What i'm trying to say is - can the rich pilgrim pay more to have more comforts, or is it against the spirit of the pilgrimage to be "different" from other pilgrims?
  11. Just out of curiousity - for those that know. When it is operated for Hajj charter, is it sold as First Business Economy, or all Economy?
  12. Wonder when precisely this is. Will make sure i avoid flying from KUL that day.
  13. Just noticed MH140 last night was an A380. wonder if it was a one off or not.
  14. Thanks for clearing that up - That 9W seat is not that fab.
  15. oops! I flew this route on the AA A321 a few days before the incident on the 23rd and 25th of August - it's 5:25 westbound from LAX and 5:00 eastbound back to LAX - not something you wanna mess about with regulations..
  16. What are you talking about? It hasn't reached THIS thursday yet........ Tell me tomorrow
  17. That also, TAN/K - thanks for the reminder.........
  18. In my mind he did a few things - changed UAMP, took away Economy Plus for Star Golds's , fumbled their wifi roll out (AA and DL have far greater percentage of planes equipped) , fumbled their transcon product - whereas AA and DL really stepped up with their A321T and Delta One offerings respectively. Made UA look old fashioned and out of touch. and at the same time, I'm pissed off with them because of the DKK ex Denmark fare error they refused to honor but that's another story lah All in all, result is I haven't stepped on a UA (whether premerger UA or CO) plane since Jan 22, 2013 because AA simply does things better.
  19. They are learning from BA. Every time i get an email detailing "enhancements" i'm scared.
  20. Maybe not MH149. Maybe it's MH66. Sched earlier than 149 but departed 00:51
  21. What you flew on on JL isn't "business" class per se. It's a bigger seat at the front of the cabin for ¥1000 over and above your existing fare - they call it class J but has no lounge access or anything. Only benefit is if you're in a mileage run with BA , AA or QF where they pay quite handsomely.
  22. Works For me! I just won't eat it and it helps with my diet ! (Trying to find a silver lining here)
