  1. So I guess the B737-9 MAX suffered at CASM figures? Everything else looks fine. I still think if MH is going to order the B737-8 MAX or MAX 200, they better go for the B737-9 MAX. I can't see the A321 NEO being a cost saver in terms of training and crew commonality. Unless they are going for the A321LR. It seems NB has attracted serious sales of late. Boeing missed out on this by killing the B757 programme completely. Thanks Julius for the illustration
  2. If they are going for the A321 Neo, wouldn't it make more sense to go A320 series in the new order? How far off is the Boeing 737 Max offering? Particularly the 739 Max compared to the A321 Neo?
  3. AA? American Airlines? Air Asia is still pretty safe then! lol
  4. "Report: MH370 pilot conducted similar route on home computer" Took them a long time to find out that the routes were similar on the simulator, didn't it?
  5. Ouch... why would that section be redundant and not used as a space for a storage bin?
  6. Let it sink in... not when you have something else to compared to. I always think the 787 is a sculpturally beautiful plane which started from the 7E7. The A350 looked like a half-arse solution which didn't start off with a good design concept like the 7E7. It was starting from a A330, until the airlines told them to make it look prettier. To date I still think the nose job doesn't looked good. A300 was a classic Airbus design and that was it... so far Boeing still leads the way and they have been since the 707. You are right, operators don't, but some pax do. It matters to some degree.
  7. I still think the A350 looked pretty ugly compared to the B787
  8. Yes the building in the background is the Subang Airport hotel connected to the Main Terminal via a bridge, which can be seen in the photo. Ahh... brought back some good old memory. I was still a kid back then. Yes two of the aerobridges from T1 were sent over to Sandakan in the east coast of Sabah. Others, not too sure what happened to them. I remembered this plane viewing balcony too. I remembered the walkway as a child and not sure about the rotunda thing in the middle. When aerobridge was built, the ramps were taken off, except the bit where they still used for fokker flights (towards the Terminal 2 end)? The viewing gallery was kept and remained open for public viewing until security was tightened in 1990s. Patrons to the airport were not allowed to enter the viewing balcony area.
  9. Definitely not in Melbourne Tullamarine or Sydney - public are kept outside of the baggage at the arrival area. Perth and Hobart are allowed, IIRC
  10. Should this thread be renamed to "MAS rebranding" or the likes of it? They are no longer talking about privatisation right?
  11. TNA - Jinan Yaoqiang Airport
  12. Nice catch of some of the best liveries in HKG. New CX, KA, Etihad liveries
  13. Hi all MWingers: Probably the smallest MW anniversary celebrations ever. HC Chai and I were lucky to be able to receive Francis Lee (Flee) to celebrate this event. Initially, we thought this year's anniversary, being the 11th, will be a non-starter. Francis sent through a Private Message to inform us that he will be in HK a day prior to the anniversary, so we went out to dinner at Kam's Kitchen near Fortress Hill MTR station. HC and Mrs. Lee were able to join us at this Michelin listed restaurant. More about Kam's Kitchen: http://www.openrice.com/en/hongkong/r-kams-kitchen-tin-hau-guangdong-chinese-bbq-r175381/menus With HC departing for KCH on Hong Kong Airlines' red eyed direct flight during the night, which left us two to spot at Hong Kong International Airport the next day. Francis arrived at the airport very early in the morning, I was able to join him at around 2pm onwards to catch some of the fish of the day. Mr. Lee checking out the approaching targets. While I checked out Flight Radar 24 on my iPhone. Mr. Lee and I parted at around 4:30pm, feeling that the light condition is deteriorating and feeling a bit satisfied with the caught of the day. I shall leave Mr. Lee to share his caught of the day, since I believe he has processed much of the photos by now. It was good to meet HC and Francis for the first time and Happy Anniversary guys. I hope to be able to join you guys in KUL next. Do let me know if anyone is interested in going to the Zhuhai International Airshow during early November 2016. Indeed, Mr. Flee had placed some of his catch on the Spotting in Hong Kong thread. http://www.malaysianwings.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5194&page=38
  14. HELLO~~~!!!??? Any updates on the Anniversary?? Flee, are you still coming?
  15. I thought it should be "Gloria" from Madagascar? http://madagascar.wikia.com/wiki/Gloria You get the Trump treatment though! Besides, who can fly a 727 these days when almost none is operational?
  16. Prolly just purchased it and dismantle her to spares... The market for 748F and 77F have also been reduced substantially, with the current state of global economy
  17. Will probably do by just hire the ex-Trump Weststar 727 curently based in SZB
  18. Not really, for some forward looking cultures in the world such as those in the West. It is a lot faster. For others, yes, it will take generations. Probably turning her to a BCF or BDSF....
  19. Simply because the US' economic model isn't sustainable. They just keep printing money... When they are out of money, all the do is to loosen their sanctions in order to gain some new business in desperate times.
  20. Nice photos, Suzanne! Where were you heading to?
