  1. Wish i cud be there but 16th March I m on duty...have fun guys
  2. This particular preflight briefing is not for the purpose of making us as good as a car's L license. Not even near to be a student pilot already. There are do's and don'ts to be explained to the participants as well, besides other relevant informations. Please scroll back to Nik's earlier posts and we can see what it is all about. Hope this helps.
  3. The mention of "flight participant" is already self explanatory. There are flying clubs offering such flights which they called "introduction flights" for the public to experience first time real flying on light aircrafts and usually it can be costly too. There shall be no full intervention of flight controls by the 'flight participant' inflight and the Commander will be in full control all the time. That is why the preflight briefing is very important.
  4. I can wear the kebaya your parents wont recognize me....hehehe
  5. Sige nah Pare, lets make this a great one for our friends. I'm off 23rd Feb. March roster is not out yet but i should be off on the 1st as already 2 days stby 28th and 29th Feb. With the fleet strength today it is unlikely I will be called up on stby.
  6. Mabuti na lang,Pare. Either dates should be ok for me. Lets leave it to the GA experts like Johari and gang to do the flying. And just in case the need arises, I have a friend who is a C172 owner (9M-ZAR) in Subang.
  7. If it is 23rd Feb I would like to join in the fun. Just to get to know fellow Mwingers. This event may be a good start for a bigger celebrations in future. U r da best , Nik.
  8. Friends, Have you ever heard of KTM? Keretapi Tanah Melayu intercity train services. For RM 68 you'll get a first class sleeper and maybe breakfast from KL to Singapore...check it out http://www.ktmb.com.my/
  9. KUKL 07 will be held at Subang Airport Terminal 3 30th August to 01st September. Ultralights, Light aircraft, helicopters, RMAF jets, Malaysian Navy, parajumpers and participants from Thailand with 10 aircraft are coming. Get ready with your prime lenses. Lots of booths to visit too.
  10. If he does not have any brain, how can he use it?
  11. you've got a point there. From other perspective, accounting figures and data are easily doctored for whatever reason. MAS started in 1972 after the split from MSA. MAS may not profit as much as SIA, but the airline still survive till today. At least 20000 families have benefitted from salaries given out by MAS every month. Those people may be our families, friends, neighbours etc etc. Some may have retired too. Open skies or close skies is not the concern of most MAS staff for now. For some, they dont even understand what open skies really means to them. The real issue is staff morale is low. It is sad.......
  12. How sure r u MAS is always losing money?
  13. the bunians are no more in the jungle laa...they are all at Putrjaya enjoying hidden wealth.
  14. Loh Wilson, tell your sister she's wasting her time with the superthick book...later in life she might regret it...
  15. In any organization, there are unhappy bunch of staff. In most GLCs or maybe all GLCs, the difficult part is when you have to please the politicians more than your staff. The politics in MAS amongst the employees are already alarming, what more if there are interferences from outside.
  16. TV3 interview yesterday:The airforce chief mentioned the copter did not carry ELT. Only "pilot activated" equipment available...Deputy PM said they have plans to scrap the Nuri fleet for a new type....your guess is the same as mine...
  17. sorry la brader, microlite flyer like me is so naive. Still learning new things everyday. I thought when something is still unsure it is best to wait and see rather than speculate. So, I shall leave the discussions to you guys & gals and the aviation experts in here.
  18. Why the big fuss? A380 comes or not does it really matter? It is definitely not a life or death thing for most here. Unless someone in here is expecting RM500 million commision from the relevant parties....
  19. Another alternative is to join any of the Malaysian flying clubs as member. The administrators should be able to help you as they are very close with the DCA. Should not be a major problem for a validation certificate. There are 4 flying clubs in Subang airport, 2 of them are at the Terminal 3 building. Look for the Elite Flying Club and Subang Flying Club. The other 2 clubs are also nearby, they are the ESB Flying club and the FAS Udara Flying club. Enjoy-enjoy...
  20. ISLAM is a simple religion. Many make it difficult for themselves and sometimes onto others by creating their own fatwas based on their own understandings. Go back to the basics and you will realise ISLAM is simple. Do up to your capabilities. For a simple reason, if you are unable to do your duty as per normal, there is always an acceptable alternate method. GOD always know what is in your minds.

  22. During the early 80s, i know a person who went for interviews 9 times before accepted to be a cadet pilot. Now he is a B747 Captain with MAS. So, no harm trying and keep trying. One may be lucky to get thro the interview the first time, others maybe luckier than him later in their life. God has always been fair and will always be.
  23. it can be a whitsle or trumpet...depending on the end user...
