  1. For info to those interested and have the means to visit... From Thai Flying Club website... "...09-11 Dec 2010 -- CIVIL AVIATION AIRSHOW 2010 AT DON MUANG AIRPORT -- The last event was very successful, because all aviation business and schools set up their booths in the old terminal at Don Muang and everyone was invited to come and learn about flying in Thailand and all the schools and businesses. It was a good event. If you want to fly in, you can, and your landing and parking fees will be waived…."
  2. just do it…i am sure you will succeed provided you believe in yourself...
  3. Norman, The dates are confirmed 4-6th June 2010 @ Kg Tasek Airfield Sungai Rambai LAPANGAN TERBANG KG TASEK SG RAMBAI MELAKA GPS POSITION: N 02 08.77’ E 10232.151’ More details soon..
  4. Was at the crash site this morning together with the police forensic team and DCA personnel. High time the GA community look seriously at inculcating a Safety Culture among its players. The kind of weather over that area yesterday was not for a 22 year old with less than 60 hours flying a less than 650 kg AUW light aircraft. Personally I am both sad and angry.
  5. Was about to descent into Perth today, had to hold for about 15 mins for the Qantas...contrary to the report above, it was the number 4 engine that was shut down by the pilots; the right hand outboard engine.
  6. Nice shots Norman. Sunday was even more vibrant with 2 eagles 150 doing aerobatics. 3 cessnas formation and paramotor formation. Anyone for microlight please let me know. We can do it in Seremban.
  7. Hi Li Ren, The SG Rambai Air Carnival will be extended making it a 4 days air event 6th-9th June 2009.. So far 50 pilots of Helicopter (R44), Experimental aircraft, Microlights, Paramotors and RC flyers are coming to show their skills and flying machines. I am flying there next week to check out the airstrip. Hopefully the repair work is completed, then Cessnas can do joyrides...
  8. Sorry guys the dates has been changed to 6-8th June 2009 to match with the weekend.
  9. hi Meor, I've been busy doing nothing....and hibernating as well...

  11. Karpal Singh International Airport (KSIA). This way only change the 2nd letter code from L to S. It's cheaper.
  12. Nice to have those winglets. The next time I build my microlite, I shall try one with winglets.
  13. if I may add, most airports in China can be scary with the pilots and air traffic controllers communicating among themselves over the radio in Mandarin. Try Mumbai during most summer nights in thunderstorms and fast speaking always easily over excited "indglish" accents controllers.
  14. ....and maybe the tow truck "made in Malaysia" laa... or, the driver is a Malaysian paid agent to sabotage QF... so as to enable a Malaysia contractor to get the job of taxiway widening...
  15. As far as I am aware, in Malaysia, there is no problem if you want to build your own airport as long as the airport meets the requirements of the DCA. For that matter even if you want to build a temporary airport too, you may, as long as DCA approves it. The fact that a small fry like me had experienced building a temporary airport in Seremban Two 5 years ago, what is the problem for AirAsia and Sime Darby to build one in Labu. MAHB have no control over private airports. Hope to park my future light GA aircraft in Labu..... :clapping:
  16. IMO, better to have the AOR airport upgraded than to leave it status quo. It will be a change reaction thing I suppose with longer runway, better equipped facilities etc... not only it will increase the safety margins for our friends flying into and out of AOR, maybe other businesses could flourish as well, like cargo operations, light business jet, GA and so forth. Go for it Nik.
  17. Pare, they said it's a one in a millionth chance for it to happen....yeah right!!! If it happens to you while on the left seat, I am sure you too can handle the machine. As far as the aircraft systems are concern, engineers and tech experts can come up with theories and recommendations bcoz machines don't have feelings. For us humans, it is the "after effects" that can be annoying. So, be prepared for: -higher than normal stress levels, -over a month of "Sleepless nights in Seremban", -stretch of nightmares, -insomniac moments, -jittery feelings when boarding planes and simulators, -keep forgetting your simple daily routines like brushing teeth, answering phone calls, locking doors, etc..., -driving to a destination you didn't plan, -occasional flashes of the event when dreaming of Maria Karin, Pretty Zinta, and the rest...hehehe -etc, etc... Lets pray to the Almighty it will not happen to anyone of us here.
  18. at least these young flyboys are responsible aviators, not mat rempits
  19. Nik, nice pics of Piper Tomahawks PA-28-112, those days they're the best...
  20. it used to be 14 months for a complete CPL I/R with 200 hrs inclusive of twin rating.
  21. On that particular afternoon, the weather there was not quite favorable for training as I was told. All trainees of Asia Pac Kota Bharu who were flying at training areas was instructed to return back to base. On the other hand, the HMA Diamonds also suffered quite a number of maintenance history recently. Probably the old faithfuls like Cessna and Piper should be revisited by flying schools.
  22. Agreed. Most had their CPL I/R before driving license. Nik, you should know the father of the deceased. He is our good friend....I am just speechless..
  23. Pare, you and your RC gang will be there? Would be interesting to watch the RC jets. I was just planning to take my 3 boys up on C172 on that date. Looks like i got to find some other dates.
