Royal Brunei launched Royal Brunei Link, a regional airline servicing Borneo island, in partnership with Malindo Air of Malaysia. The new regional service was unveiled yesterday during the official re-launch of BSB-Brisbane route.

> Two all white 72-seats ATR 72 will be servicing Balikpapan, Kuching, Bintulu, Sibu, Tawau, Sandakan, Kota Kinabalu.
> Cabin crew and Cockpit crew to be provided by Malindo Air. In initial phase, Royal Brunei crew will also be on board to ensure service delivery is par with BI's standard.

> Sandwich will be provided for flight more than an hour. BI in-flight magazine made available too.
> 15kg baggage allowance. For those transiting from international flight at Brunei International Airport, 30kg and 40kg via respective class of booking.

BSB? Brasilia in Brazil?

Will this means there will be first international flight between SBW and BWN? I hope this route can sustain as BWN can be a good alternative to KUL and SIN for those travelling abroad from Sarawak. I noticed few months ago, BI had good price for flight from LHR to KUL at less than £400 return.

Not rumours but confirmed. Last service for AK will be this Sunday. Not surprised though, early morning flights are hard to compete with the timings offered by BI  (majority of Bruneians treat KK as a quick getaways, head to the airport after school/ work ends on a friday and back by sunday evening).

This should be AK second time closing BKI-BWN route.

I somehow think BI A320 flight will continue, Bruneians tend to buy a lot of stuff from KK. 15kg is just insufficient for them.

Sarawakians from Miri, Sibu, Kuching and Bintulu are going to love this. Many of them working in the O&G and hospitality sector in Brunei.

I somehow think BI A320 flight will continue, .....

Only four of the 17 weekly BKI flights, if one can believe what there is on FR24 :)

KCH gone all ATR !

Seem BI has gotten in a Wamos Air A332 to do the DXB route, in place of their B787s

Looks like the A320 making a comeback in October
FR24 (like I said, if it can be believed) shows what there is for next 7 days :)

Their IG and FB are bombed with pax complaining ATR 72 over A320. Bruneians are heavy shoppers, 15kg is just not enough to bring back "Malaysia" to Brunei.
