Yesterday evening I flew back from WBGG & there were only 3 planes there, 1 MAS Boieng 737-800, 1 MasWing Twin-Otter & finally my flight Air Asia A320. So empty the airport. So sad to see that. :(

You think that is sad ?  I've seen WBKK completely devoid of flying machines, save for one or two hibernating in the maintenance hangars

How is that for an emptier, bigger white elephant ?!  :D

And the good-old Sarawak government still hoping for more increase in flights... Clearly they don't understand the airline business...

Well more pax will fly if:

  1. There is business to be done in KCH and Sarawak
  2. There are tourist attractions for visitors to enjoy in KCH and Sarawak

Sarawak govt. dominates business in Sarawak and they use private biz jets.

As for tourism, the govt. has neglected to develop the infrastructure that is needed to support such activities. Hence most traffic to KCH is domestic travel by Sarawakians living and working outside the state.

In the past I remembered MAS used to fly the wide body jets to Kuching...B747-400 & the combi, A330 & MD-11 when they still have it.  :clapping:  No longer any sight of these jets coming to KIA.  :cray:
