Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 (edited) Haha, I did catch VXP on the same day as well!! Sandeep, here's something that will freak you out, the first of 3 leased from QRA... (did you get my PM the other day?) got talking with SMF's captain this afternoon, here's some more goss from Maroomba. - QQB is first of 3 DHC-8-102's due, QQA is next. They gave up on sourcing Dash 8-200's, with a $5mil price tag each was out of their range. The three birds will either have engines upgraded, making them - 103 standard, however if engines can not be sourced locally, Bombardier has a rather large stock pile of Dash 8-103's in Canada and they will be bought/leased and ferried for operation here. - Dash 8's will be used on Golden Grove (8 times a week) and Wiluna, and there is more contract work coming only shortly. They are contracted for an initial 10years. - The owners of the Golden Grove minesite have (or are) purchased an interncontinental Bizjet, sorry model unknown, perhaps this is why we had Gulfstream Demo G450 N990GA in town recently?? Maroomba will be operating this jet on their behalf. Exciting times to come! Edited January 24, 2006 by Liam Gibb

Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted January 31, 2006 For the few interested ones... Norman: VH-SMZ returning from a Sunday charter EMB-120 VH-XUD executing a go-around as part of training, she later performed a flap less landing, which was very exciting to witness. Air Tractor AT-802 VH-ZED "Bomber 607" returning to PER to "reload." She was combating a fire in the northern suburbs Here is the twin seat version, as "Bomber 608" 767-338ER VH-OGO is dire need a new lick of paint! 737-76N VH-VBO, short finals... "Qantas 64" opb 747-338 VH-EBY from Johburg, short finals just prior to strong gust forcing her to balloon significantly "Malaysian 1...24" opb 747-4H6 9M-MPE, just prior to smacking on the deck, a wise move given the windy conditions! "Thai 99999997" from BKK. Again, HS-TEG graces us with her presence on the Sunday arvo service! Thanks, enjoy...

Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 Your welcome Mr Yusof. Went down to Jandakot to shoot the RFDS King Air's this afternoon, only to find PC-12 VH-MWO being the only bird on their share of the apron. Will upload a pic of this fine machine when I return from dinner with family. Also have Beech 1900C VH-FWA to share...and QF 744 VH-OJT. Hopefully will have another go on Sunday. Watch this space. Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted February 11, 2006 (edited) Geez, Sandeep its an Osprey, geez... hahaha. Man how awesome are the indo's and their thing for private regional airliners...now just to get F28 PK-RJW (again) and the newer F100 PK-RJI. Although its hard to be hardcore when you arrive aboard your private jet in PER, that had to techstop to get here from CGK FYI, when you own your MRO facility, we're buying a VIP 717 Edited February 11, 2006 by Liam Gibb
