Chaity 1 Report post Posted October 2, 2016 SV, thanks for the coverage of CX744 despite the rainy weather. Sure a lot of fans on the roof to witness the historical moments.
flee 5 Report post Posted October 2, 2016 Sad to see the B744 go at CX. Both SQ and CX have now rid themselves of the B747s but CX does not have a VLA class aircraft anymore. Too bad...
S V Choong 4 Report post Posted October 2, 2016 Sad to see the B744 go at CX. Both SQ and CX have now rid themselves of the B747s but CX does not have a VLA class aircraft anymore. Too bad... Actually I also happened to find out that Air China had also retired their pax B747-4J6s a few days ago. With only one flying domestically. The remaining one will be retired today too. Only difference is that CA has a few of B747-8i to carry on the genes of the almighty B747. SV, thanks for the coverage of CX744 despite the rainy weather. Sure a lot of fans on the roof to witness the historical moments. Thanks Chaity. We will surely miss the B747-400s. I am aiming to fly more of QF in the coming years to make sure I get the B747-438ER or any B747-8s out there I can find!

Benjamin Ho 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2017 If you are thinking of doing spotting in HKIA, please note that the famous T2 Skydeck is current closed for maintenance, re-opening date is unknown.
Waiping 12 Report post Posted July 3, 2017 It's been closed on and off lately. Is spotting from the sea still possible?
Benjamin Ho 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2017 no idea about the sea. I spot from either inside the terminal or the T2 carpark lift lobby.

SS Lee 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2017 I thought they had already painted this to the default scheme. This livery reminds me of that low fly-by stunt they did with the 77W at Everett.
KS Ong 1 Report post Posted August 20, 2017 I thought they had already painted this to the default scheme. This livery reminds me of that low fly-by stunt they did with the 77W at Everett. You mean this aircraft? That was B-KPF. It was painted in "Asia's World City" special colours until Mar 2014. The current green plane is B-KPB, painted in 'Spirit of Hong Kong'

KS Ong 1 Report post Posted March 17, 2018 Some old boat spotting pictures from 2015. It's sad that this iconic spotting location is closed indefinitely for HKG third runway construction.
