747 LCF...sneak preview

Recommended Posts

This is the 1st of the 2 re-fitted 747 for conversion into 747-400LCF. It will be used for carrying 787 sections. EVA's Aviation Technologies division did the engineering work for the conversion.

Interesting picture, Denny, tail looks more like a 747SP tail (i.s.o. 'normal' 747) to me

So, 787 fuselage is wider than 747 ? :o

The pic with EVA Air hangar in foreground was taken on 8/14 according to a fellow spotter. EVA has just completed the airframe works. The 2nd green tail 747 will be the 2nd to be converted. All flights taking off from CKS' Rwy 6 can see it. SQ usually uses Rwy 6, and I'm sure LeeCH may have seen these 2 green 747s parked nearby since early this year.

The Dynamic Blue livery 747LCF is a fake pic, link is here:

I believe this bird was an ex-Air China bird, hence the Boeing 747-4J6 designation, old rego, B-2464. She has spent sometime at the Marana Air park (desert) along with former MAS 747-400M Combi. She went to Air Algerie later.
