Bing Chu 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2006 ..... I don't think CLK can be another Kai Tak, ..... For Hong Kong, I reckon the word 'cannot' is a taboo of sort ! Get your meaning about orientation of the buildings in relation to airport. Still brings a touch of nostalgia though !

And mind my poor English, make you feel so hard to get my idea. Check in counter available so early? also, may I know what does "TO" means? Yes, check-in counter opened that early... I also wonder, few days ago, two friends of mine (who traveled along with me) arrived a good 3 minutes before the gate closed and were able to "chekc-in" and allowed for the flight. It doesn't seem to make sense to me; can anyone please clarify this??? I was told at the ticket counter I could check-in right after I had my flight changed. I guess the check-in in opened as early as 24 hours prior to the flight. I did not know what is called for my flight "to" HK (contrary to my "return" flight to KL) so I put it "to". I hope that clarifies to all who don't get my poor English.

I don't think it is possible to happen in HKG, since: Therefore, you are required to check-in at least 40mins before the gate close. P.S. : Yao, well, your English is not as poor as me. WHAT?!?! How can you miss a red belly ?? Maybe next time.... unluckily, that is just a normal B773 white belly Edited May 9, 2006 by Sneeze Lam

I don't think it is possible to happen in HKG, since: Therefore, you are required to check-in at least 40mins before the gate close. It was at CLK. My friends left Shatin at 12 noon and managed to arrive at the airport in time for check-in. That itself is unbelievable to me. To my best knowledge, they arrived just in time for check-in and then arrived just at the gate just 3 minutes before the gate closed. P.S.: The drink enough was refreshing to me after a hot Sun bath! Thanks for the drink! ;-) Edited May 9, 2006 by Teoh Z Yao

For the 30 mins matter, it is just a kind of suggestion highly recommanded by the airport authority. No matter how, you may send an email asking CX about the time for check-in

Teoh Z Yao 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2006 Teoh, what did you ask when you ask for cockpit visit? You asked it after landed or during flight? Min Chun... I talked to a steward, he said he was busy and he asked me to walk down the aisle to ask the other stewardesses. I did... Walked down the aisle, met a stewardess, leaning sidely against the wall with my right arm buckled on my waist, as if courting (haha...), and said "could you please ask the captain if I could have a cockpit visit after the flight?" I stressed "after." My position apprehended her a little, well actually, she was uneasy, shy... So she directed me to another stewardess, who stretched into her pocket and took out a piece of paper full with numbers, picked up the intercom, dialed, and then "Hi David, how ya doin'? Here is a young man askin' for a visit to the cockpit after the flight... bla, bla, bla..." Hanging up the phone with a smile, I knew it was good news... And there she goes "the Captain said it is great; what's your seat? We'll come back to you after the flight to direct you to the cockpit... bla, bla, bla..." Well, Min Chun, the process is pretty involved... Hahaha... My other cockpit visit processes have always been involved, actually... Some were even turned down... This time I got to visit the cockpit but were not allowed to photograph; too bad! Be sure I get to photograph when I fly with you next time, Radzi, TK, Leech, or other MW pilots, ok? Mana u guys face eh? None...
