Brahim's-MAS catering deal "remains intact"

Recommended Posts

On my last flight with EK, the catering from KUL was easily the worst. The best was from DXB followed closely by CDG. Was on the 343 so breakfast was served. Omelette tasted the same as the one on MH. Just as terrible. Portion was small too. The achilles heel in EK's KUL ops IMO

Believe ek ex-kul is catered by brahim.

Believe ek ex-kul is catered by brahim.

The government/Malaysia Airlports needs to allow competition in this business to enhance quality,so they should allow a international caterer to be in KUL,ie SATS,Gate Gourmet,LSG or DNATA.

Only way forward, as brahims is a monopoly and hence needs competion to improve.

As far as gomen concern, klas is brahim's competitor.

A 30,000 meal per day flight catering kitchen cost over rm500 million to build. With limited international airlines serving kul, the industry is highly regulated and political interference is unavoidable, few companies except glc would invest. Klas belongs to drb, hasn't expand or upgrade its facilities much since 1997.

LSG used to be Brahim's parter until end of 2012 when Brahim bought out LSG 49% share..and 30% of the catering business is still owned by MAB I believe

Dispose to SATS? So later we could see MH satay on SQ flights?

Sats bought brahim for Mh satay recipe.

The gomen should have gazetted mh satay and nasi lemak recipe under Official Secrets Acts 1972; only the executive chef and master chef of respectively department are cleared to read the recipe.
