Norman 1 Report post Posted February 8, 2006 Awesome shots of the LCC Terminal......but kinda dull colours used for the building....anything extraordinary about the building ??? Extraordinary?? Err.... How should I put it? Nothing like the existing terminals, I guess... Anyway, It's Low Cost Air Terminal... Everything low cost... you get what you paid for need extra... pay extra Oh ya, by the way... you walk to your aircraft This is good for spotters, Just hope that your aircraft is the furthest from the terminal's exit Not sure about umbrella when its raining, Maybe you got to "rent" There're about 72 check-in counters and one Information counter with a Departure/Arrival board next to it That's about it at the moment... The pix shows the International Departure Wing Domestic wing, the one facing left Max of 12 parking spots in front of Intl Wing and another 18 infront of Domestic Car Park?... 600 units 'cos 'Now Everyone Can Fly' but Not Everyone Own a Car.... T Azahan 1 Report post Posted February 8, 2006 See SIN's Budget Terminal, and you will be impressed with KL's LCAT. are you so sure? at least SIN's have efficient ground connection from existing terminal. vital! KUL???? if someone takes ERL......yeah yeah yeah sure have shuttle bus........but efficient or not?? may be efficient but its not free. condition of the bus??? "air-con taraklaa boss!" or extending ERL line to LCAT??? dream on...... and its like having a stand alone computer. and pirate cabbies will be back at main terminal "boss boss, LCAT.....saya bole antar" raining while walking to tarmac.........need umbrella..........oooops u cant have it unless u pay. and finally when u reach your destination, calculate calculate.....damn!......i only save RM5.75 versus taking MH. <_>

We'll see how things turn out to be, fingers crossed. I doubt they'll extend the ERL line to LCAT. Even if they do, there may not be that many people using it. I won't be surprised if AK's air ticket is actually cheaper than the ERL ticket to the city.

Far less parking terminal and of course, it is the same "rain, get wet" style. Of course, no pirate cabbies in SIN, yes they are more efficient. Do not confuse the SIN budget terminal with SIN T3. T3 is beside 02L/20R. Budget terminal is beside 02C/20C. somewhere in the shadow of the catering building.

I think that was one of the reasons why JetStar Asia isn't moving to the new Budget terminal. They were saying that no one would want to get wet when it rains. Norman 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 I don't know about SIN's budget terminal... haven't been there & haven't seen its picture. Only heard that their sky-train provides the ground transport How true, I'm not sure. Heard their ops begin on 26th of March Due to this date, KLIA's LCAT will commence ops on the 6th of March. I've a couple of photos taken discreetly (from the hip) within KLIA's LCAT This one from the main driveway looking towards International Arrivals (I guess...) With the 600odd parking lots, I'm sure the drive way will clogged up with "waiting" vehicles since the complex also house AirAsia's offices, thus, their workers will also park their cars in those parking lots. This is view within the main lobby... Notice the row of check-in counters the glass door on the left leads to International Departure. Ceiling is finished, awaiting some light fittings to be installed. For your information... the roof is double tiers ie the one seen here is the inner one. There's an outer one on top so as to provide better heat insulation as well as to reduce noise during rainfalls. So guys... we'll see on the 6th oif March, how's the operation of Air Asia from this terminal 'cos what I heard, other low cost carriers still shy away from LCAT. And on th 26th... we can compare with that of SIN's...

Just hope the fence won't have the zinc cladding like that of T3 in Subang... <_> But knowing our spotting team... they'll find a spot where it's best to cover LCAT ops... I know one place .... but very high security clearance required the Apron Control Tower....
