The airport personnel on the aerobridge must be thinking "Oh dear, we're going to be in BIG trouble this time!". rolleyes.gif

Wow, an aerobridge collapsing is a minor incident, then what would make a major incident ?

(This is not meant to be a personal attack against you, SV)

No offence is taken, relax Sing Yew.

Try and compare to a tail strike, it was not even reported!

9M-MPN departed AKL for KUL on the afternoon of 1 Jan 2006 after repairs.

Nicholas,

Replacement door was most probably installed to Boeing guidelines, hence the approval from Boeing (and Malaysian CAA, I suppose); just in case something happens, MAS has a legal "weapon" ...

S.V,

Is there any investigation into the collapse and by which authorities? I'm sure MAS will be conducting its own investigation.

Where can we find the report when it comes out? If bridge collapse, it sounds to me like metal fatigue...

Sandeep, I don't know. I suppose I can find that out for you.

If you checkout the aerobridges at AKL at Jetphotos.net or airliners.net. Indeed they are very old, at least as old as Subang's T1.
