  1. as far as I know MH is not using 772 for a long time.A332 in service. I've latest timetable which is downloaded from MH website, would be available 25OCT2009-27MAR2010 but there is no any notification about direct fly between KUL-IST-KUL. According MH timetable, flight would be perform KUL-DXB stop-IST route. meanwhile, fare is excellent, it seems dropped at least %50 (compare all taxes with session fare).
  2. very idiotic decision while announced profit loss and request "be self-sacrfie" from all employees. very interesting "market strategy" against to customer during crisis.
  3. if you curious what it like that experience here you are; http://rapidshare.com/files/218894411/hadi_ucalim_07_04.part1.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/218894633/hadi_ucalim_07_04.part2.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/218892534/hadi_ucalim_07_04.part3.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/218892829/hadi_ucalim_07_04.part4.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/218885736/hadi_ucalim_07_04.part5.rar this was a record of first 1hr part of 2 hrs flight for TV program for virtual flyers in a private channel which is broadcasting in satellite. simulation is Boeing 737NG by Mectronix in IFTC (www.iftc.aero). during record we were talking about my experiences in virtual aiviation, comments for that days news in Turkish Virtual aviation community , some of informations for first time seen a commercial full motion simulator for audiances etc...
  4. MH's offer is really good and not much expensive for a T7 simulator. we pays 300€ for 737NG or A320 full motion level-d simulator. This is not a thing to go to everyday (for like as us amateur aviators) so it's worth to pay 1500RM for 60minutes and I strongly advise to find another person to can pay one hour too. Believe me 1 hour is not enough for that amazing experience. meanwhile, I'm making a plan to ride T7 sim experience when we visit to Malaysia again do not miss that chance, you can't find much like that possbility in the world.
  5. ahhh now it's ok as I thought, that is magic sentence Nevertheless, this is serious gamble for BA,especially at that time they announced loss of profit. As you remember ther was an airline which is only business service on board, Silverjet and they ceased operation at the end of 2008 due global crisis. BA is very smart that using smallest plane.
  6. maybe we can say "smallest airliner" instead "shortest" I really don't know what wants BA to do with this A318 on transatlantic flight?!? what they think about to get profit of per milage/seat on this route? -there is no room belly cargo -probably uncomfortable flight with a small airplane in turbulances at transatlantic flight levels (if you want to fuel economy another question, how A318 gets ETOPS certificate? looks very limited performance as an airliner for crossing north atlantic!
  7. I'm really sad about that bad news. my condolences to all RMAF members and families of victims.
  8. Visual rwy05, circle to land rwy23 for LTAF Adana Airport with Turkish Airlines A319 TC-JLM name is "sinop". Capt. Ercan Karakas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oo70cz6SVkY
  9. Our one of the best spotters, Capt.Ercan "captairbus"Karakas sent out a new pictures series few days ago. The pictures were taken several location and from air to air. and here you are all 72 pictures, have fun; http://www.sanalpilot.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14043
  10. what kind of aircraft type which can be throw bride bouquet?....sucking? means jet engine?or Piaggio Avanti (the best guess)?
  11. I hope Turkish air force retires F5 and NF5 too! but unfortunately, they are planning to modified them and use in next 20 years!!!! I really curious to see them after 20 years how many airplane parts would be remain on the runway after each takeoffs!
  12. hmm , if it so, Arkefly has a real trouble with that empty flight remained behind all passangers at AMS
  13. according an unofficial news from Turkish internet news page, passangers were not sit down even cabin crew awarned them. Flight attendants has been informed to captain and captain once again awarned them about sit down the seats but they refused. By the news, plane aborted takeoff and turned back to gate from runway. After disembarked the all passangers, plane has been continues to Turkey. according me, I think there is a blank points of that news. Probably captain kicked out just only problem guys (to terminal police) from plane and they continued to way with remained passangers.Pilots have right to move out if there any uncontrolled passangers on board.
  14. I thought , there is wonderfull relations about friendship while looking last pictures. guys, excellent pictures all of them. I liked vey much head on pictures, thanks very much for your efforts but I'm sure you were always well while wasting llooong time at there
  15. and what kind of 763 which has "bathroom" on board ) I think reporters all the same in everywhere , they really don't know anything about aircrafts!
  16. what happened A330s? are they expiration days comes?!!! When came Turkish airline's new brand A330's to Istanbul , it was grounded for 5 days for electric problem with APU systems. Plane was performed only ferry flight from Touluse to Istanbul. Electric problem has been recognise while making line check before delivery to schedule flight. Ofcourse thats are not meaning "airbus planes have problems" but when you check out Airbus incidents, the most of problem causes electric problems. Maybe, Airbus must be check new Airbus family electricity design from begin to end once again. According me, if it be so, the possible reaons of that should be; seperatly producing scheme of airbus planes. As you remember, A380 has been live a serious problem while assembly phase about wires were not suitable becouse two body parts produced two different country and wiring ends were not connected. After that Airbus has been fixed the problem but if they choosed to like that producing system for reducing cost price of production, there should be a problem still two different wiring systems connections. Just an opinion as guess.
  17. can you tell me what is reason or reasons of closed the blog? my friends are curious.

    Contrails

thanks for your comments onbehalf Captain Karakas. Capt.Radzi, Capt.Karakas said that "I wanted to write myself but I couldn't login the MW" he says "my equipment; Canon eos 5d + Canon 70-200f4L IS lens" @fizree; I agree with you, I think she is Malaysian 747-400 on the route Germany or UK (or from) @pieter; you know Ercan captain's pictures he is one the best photographer in turkey about avaition with his technique especially long posure from cocpit.also air to air picture takes is a excellent gift by his job my favorites; #10; simple square in air, lonely plane and her track. #22; it is like a pictorial scene #23; beautiful contrast in the air #26; beyond to clouds #29; I don't like A380 honestly but how many people can see her in this angle at this level? #33; another scene of the life in the air #36; I can't say anything #42; how much clear a picture than this one? #44; Singapore 747megatop, lonely Queen of the sky #49; Izair (Izmir airlines) A319 with the moon (better frame than #7 OnurAir MD88) #50; nice zoom shot of THY A319 #51; Junction in the air #55; amazing colours of sky (picture names just only my feelings that I watched them)

    Contrails

You know Capt.Ercan Karakas who is flying in Turkish Airlines Airbus Fleet as A320/321 captain. He is taking very impressive shots while flying from cockpit, sometimes longposure at nights, sometimes air to air besides spotting with other amateur aviation enthusiasts. He published new series pictures "contrails", you can see them from here; http://www.sanalpilot.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13476
  20. yes but generally in visual landing; aircraft is generally fully landing configuration with flaps, landing gears down and landing lights are open. So airplane should be 8nm almost. If they are going to wrong runway and if they reported the same situation, it means they are 16-18nm away from Tbilisi. as far as I know, tower must be checked and recognized approaching aircraft with eye contact or with binoculars. (landing was in day time) You are right, I don't know there are radar service or not As you said that approach service is not meaning that is giving with radar service (PSR-SSR). Ofcourse the big guilty is in cockpit crew, they could be missed approach easly when they recognized wrong airport. The rest of guilty can be goes to tower crew that they didn't watch the traffic. I'm waiting official news from THY or news from insider friends, what is truth or reasons.
  21. Juergen, landing has been performed as "visual" to rwy 31L. (according by captain and airport authority report) Georgia aviation authorities says that there were at least 4-5 events about to land wrong airport which is the same direction at near of Tbilisi airport. Yes, cockpit crew has been mad big mistakes in such as fully technological 737NG aircraft with so many navigastion devices but we are curious what they were doing Air Traffic Controllers? how to give landing clereance to any aircraft which is performing visual approach? -when aircraft report runway in sight. so Tower must be know were they are according to approachig runway 31L with position, radar or else. unofficial news, one of passanger was opposite action leader against Georgia goverment and he was going to meeting to Tbilisi. According this news, controllers could give instructions to wrong runway. Just a rumour ofcourse. For a long time, military pilots is the main soruce of airliners becouse there weren't civillian pilot school since 1988. Still we have only one university based active pilot school in Eskisehir Anadolu University. BEsides last 8 years so many private flightschools opened. Turkish Airlines is training so many civillian pilot to be airline pilot in THY since 1990 and they have own training academy last 4 years. So last 10-15 years military source pilots decreasing in total Turkish Airlners as percentage. Ofcourse it will not zero like as all countries becouse military pilots are experienced pilots for avaition even they are flying in single or twin engine jet fighters. This is the same in US, Germany, UK, France and the rest of so many countries. Eventually, it was not suit to THY. It shouldn't be happend.
  22. Captain who was involved that mistaken landing, has been resign from THY and requested his retirement. First Officer lost his captain promotion at least 1 year. (maybe 2 year).Investigation is continue still.
  23. Afiq, according as your opinion, autoland systems can be get altitude information from captain side RA, that is normal even there are 2 radio altimeters besides captain sides. -Is this a design mistakes of autopilot structure? becouse pilots would be thinks about "we have spare systems if one of them malfunction" -Why Boeing engineer/system engineers didn't made any alternative way to if dropps LRA INOP and why system verified with other Radio altimeters for continue approach because if you are in the middle of CATIII approach you would like to trust to works as well radio altimeters and probably your expects, working RA would be provide systems. -Has Boeing capability of any warning about LRA INOP/ if LRA INOP, is there any warning message or sound about while you are attempting in dual/single channel autoapproach/autoland?
  24. according as report, aircraft was making approach and then Autopilot (aircraft) thought reach the flare altitude and gets the aircraft in flare position before the runway and wrong alitude due wrong altitude indicator value! also with so many suspicious claims. firstly; there are 3 pilots in the cockpit, if Captain saide altirude shows erroneus altitude value, how they passed crosscheck altitudes! final approach phase is the most important part of a flight, so all pilots (at least PF and PNF) should be in aware whats going on, how they missed N1,Throttle iddle position for a long time, dropping speed (on speed tape). if was it so, how they didn't see DH,MDA, DME compare when aircraft gets flare position! and they didn't make during 100second? Secondly; according as report, F/O in PIC(PF) at that moment, wrong altitude indicator was left side, so captain's. Autopilot B was ON position and approach was DUALMODE. Autopilot gets the altitude information from captain's side even be F/O flies or AP B in active! this is very critical design faiulure for a 70million dollars airplane! there are too much things to say about details of report.
