  1. I have a CX flight that didn't credit after a month. It's a fairly substantial amount so I won't let it slide, but how do submit a claim? Do I really need to part with my BP and send it to their office? I have time and can drop by the Sentral office, but I don't want to go there and find out they can't do anything. Anyone have a similar experience?
  2. It's sad going from 6 continents to 3, but I can't say it's entirely surprising LAX was cut as their product just can't compete with CX. Even TG offers a solid J product. (I'm assuming they didn't pull the 77W)
  3. The gloomy feeling is even worse when you step off a flight from Changi - a world of difference! Btw, when can we expect the full year results for KUL?
  4. Don't hold your breath. I was told there's still a lot more work to be done as they're basically "tearing down the entire lounge and rebuilding it". Let's hope it's not just another paint job!
  5. Oh they're ready alright. What's wrong with making 500 passengers walk down a long flight of stairs just to board the plane?
  6. Can't imagine them still serving LAX with a 2-3-2 angled flat product in 2017!
  7. If they're expecting new planes by 2017, that means it's definitely not going to be the 777X. Come to think of it, I wonder how they're going to get A350s or 787s delivered by then... Unless they want more A330s
  8. Wonder if the 10am hour on a Friday is as busy. If all else fails there's always the PP lounge
  9. What time were you there? Did CX know who they were messing with when they denied you entry?!
  10. QF's international network isn't doing well so I doubt they're in the mood to experiment with new destinations that aren't particularly popular, such as KUL. Heck, they can't even make SYD-PEK work. What really annoys me is BA's new service to CGK via SIN. KUL is casually overlooked, as usual.
  11. Couldn't find any info on the lounges in PEN (except the Plaza Premium). Does anyone know if MH still has a Golden Lounge there?
  12. The previous renovation was a joke. I don't think the F side got any nicer, and was downsized instead. And I've seen some locker room showers that are way nicer than those in both the F and J sides. I'll be there a day after the J side scheduled to re-open. Can't wait to check it out! Oh wait, I just remembered this is Bolehland. Better not get my hopes up
  13. Curious to know of they're granting 90 day stays like they do for most foreigners or 15 days ala Brunei.
  14. Glad everyone is safe. 300+ passengers on a 332? Doesn't sound like a very comfortable config to me!
  15. What aircraft was that? Looks like the old style seat cover (pre-smarties) but I'm trying to figure out which birds still have those around.
  16. Problem is, MH will be carrying mostly O&D pax to and from DXB whereas EK has a massive hub there and has no problems filling up those 77Ws and A380s with loads of connecting passengers from all over the globe. On top of the O&D pax there would be a sprinkle of connecting passengers from SE Asia and maybe Australia/NZ, but that's about it.
  17. That's the same as being in the US Visa Waiver Program (VWP), which requires electronic pre-travel authorization. I don't think it's impossible for us to be considered in the future as our visa refusal rate is relatively low (5% in 2012) though still above the 3% requirement. Our passports are also of the biometric type and that's a tick on the checklist. We're already part of the Guam Visa Waiver Program (Ok, I can't think of anyone I know of who wants to go there, but it's one step forward I guess) Turkey, which is already being considered as a future member of the VWP has an 8% refusal rate in 2012. Hong Kong and Chile are already on their way to joining the program. Of course, I doubt the Americans can place that level of trust in Malaysia, in the foreseeable future at least. Not with the few bad apples around who spoil our entire image. The real pain in the a** are the Canadians. It's bad enough they imposed visa requirements on us in 2002. Now it takes several weeks to get a visa, and you'll need to travel down to the republic to get it done!
  18. Another loss? Now THAT'S a surprise...
  19. We all know Malaysia has a magical way of increasing numbers, from citizens to constituencies and votes.
  20. With the rumored LHR-KUL-CGK out of the window I won't be expecting them back in KUL anytime soon.
  21. I'm doing a day trip (or rather, long-ish turnaround) to BKI on 27 Apr. Didn't want to wake up at 4am to catch the first flight out at 0640, and the 2nd flight out was RM108 so I went with MH on the outbound instead (still quite a steal at RM150), in time to catch the 1620 flight home. Just praying that GE13 falls on another fine day...and for an MX* bird to surprise me
