Likely a case of putting the cart before the horse My opinion, worthy or otherwise, would be that it's better the state govt take a step back, take its fingers out from the tourism related and hospitality vehicles and allow the private sector to venture in and sink/swim on own merit

From what I am able to garner from the quoted piece, said "young politician" is probably saying what (he thinks) his constituents want to hear So what is it but commit the Sarawak state coffers (extensive as it may be) to this bottomless pit exciting new venture, Sarawak Airlines (ala Singapore Airlines) to bring about "more direct international flights" - at least partly because "Sarawak is worse off compared to Sabah when it comes to having direct international flights" Best of luck there, would be a natural knee jerk response, I imagine I am so grateful those goons did not/have not managed to bring to fruition their proposed Sarawak/Sabah collaborative airline .....

Bird droppings at BKI or Trafalqar Sq/Leicester Sq ? (personally I would value life, as I know it, over bird droppings anywhere) -

My guess - the wow factor of a water canon salute at that time of day would be somewhat negligible vs time and effort required -

I've had experience of birds (of feathered variety) buzzing overhead at holding area at BKI http://www.malaysianwings.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21221&page=8 Admittedly not as hazardous as those reported at KLIA2, but random bird droppings can be 'inconveniencing' too (as per visits to Trafalgar Square & Leicester Square, London) -
Malaysia Airports claiming RM36 mil in unpaid fees from AirAsia

AirAsia to stop collecting ‘klia2 fee’, says CEO from: https://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2019/01/01/airasia-to-stop-collecting-klia2-fee-says-ceo/#BwXqymPXDyYgZkYL.99 Hero ! -
Fascinating Within discursions amongst those sites quoted, do you reckon they are either considering measures to overcome current 'imbalance' on those routes, or are commiserating with each other upon fact that no Malaysian carrier could make a successful business case for BKI-South Korea ? I guess the 'lucrative barometer' will need re-calibrating somewhat - though I can relate to the Koreans affinity for things Korean imo the most logical so far

Wonder if a hybrid klia2 design and AK group's business model could possibly morph to produce an (uncovered) pedestrian walkway between MTB2 and Satellite2, the sort of zebra crossing like design ... ... with options of a. paid access to one of those mechanized walkalators (shielded from the elements) b. transfer by air-cond bus shuttles (for an extra premium) -
And before that they did the KUL-KCH-BKI-SEL and KUL-BKI-SEL 'bendies' for a few years, on their own without competition Somehow MH managed to 'rationalized' the route as being non viable and abruptly pulled out, whilst the Korean carriers started to make their presence (after testing market with seasonal charters) Current state of affairs would indicate that Malaysians (MH management anyway) and South Koreans have very differing definitions of the term 'rational'

Gatwick drones: Two arrested over flight disruption https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-46657505 Somehow I don't think this is end of story yet - worst fear is this feeding inspiration for far more nefarious intentions

It's a horrible thought, but surely they cannot be relying on 2010-era data to make a decision in 2018 (more likely 2019 when deal is done and ink is dry) For sure the dynamics would be very much different for eg. 787-neo vs A350-max (just saying)

I think this article fortifies your assertion Crackdown on 'zero dollar' tourism Published on: Saturday, December 08, 2018 from: http://www.dailyexpress.com.my/news.cfm?NewsID=129303&fbclid=IwAR1Cx-cSI0IuO7emBw0jPWEkkth-try-J6WoRDf7ezBQ8ENiQXD7Ulj4oXA

Should they even bother with a hotel ? Probably won't even leave airside and just loiter there for the few hours Would the lounges at KCH be available at those hours of the day ?

KCH spotters be on alert 27 Nov - Qantas 744F due in town in morning (as per FR24) Departing for BKK 11:35 - unable to tell where/when it will fly in from though -
Could it be the ex-CM's legal team going off after their date at courthouse this afternoon ? Oh wait, they lost the case, so maybe they should be on AK flights instead

(need to quickly search where on earth Muan/MWX is located) So we will have Jeju Air flying in from Seoul and 'Muan', but not Jeju

And in the Chinese hakka dialect, it could loosely be "It's real ...." - as in 'Jin eh, mauh ngak nee, .....'

I'm sure many non-avgeeks in QR's A346 Y cabin also appreciate the very much more generous leg room there, as compared to the newer sardine cans in their fleet

Yes, a daytime Korean bird at last

MH4 Loss Of Separation With VS251 At Heathrow
BC Tam replied to Mohd Suhaimi Fariz's topic in General Aviation
And all this while, that presumably novice (virginal) flying object has been spared any share of this ensuing hullabaloo Let alone those ATC chaps who engineered the scene to start with It's just not cricket for goodness sake -
Point taken - not dodgy then
