Maybe MAS and AirAsia can takeover these routes. Malindo can potentially serve too. The pricing though will be up to the competitions available.

So sad. You scroll back a few pages and you will find pics of these planes still in shining white. Some times I wonder whats the purpose of the owners parking these jumbos here all these years, same like those of 747 owners at KLIA.

All the flights I flew on AK this year have wifi.the Rokki. Not much free content but better than nothing.

How it is forcing them to be involved in a charade when as the head of state he's announcing something for the flag carrier? And Tun himself with all due respect, wasn't at all perfect during his handling of MAS. Or did MAS suddenly went bad when current PM took office? But thats for another day and topic. 787-9 is an ideal widebody. We were all feeling a bit of loss when MH retired all of its 777. To have another series added to the airline is a Godsend for me as a boeing fan.

To be honest I havent had many bad experiences with OD, with them being my 1st choice alternating with MH. Only complaint is their frequencies and timing which limits my connections towards other destinations out of KUL. But their product has to be consistent regarding their IFEs.

That's some strong words.. crook politician.. in any business we do, no matter what, there's always some kind of political twist to it. To say that some arms were twisted when PB himself said MAB were evaluating a330neo/787 back in August is out of order. Beli salah, x beli pn salah. a350 is replacing the a380. 787s maybe the widebodies replacing a330. Who knows, maybe someone else is wiser regarding MAB's fleet planning..

I agree with you Adrian... could be just another tactical ploy by TF to get the best price out of Airbus.

God my reply has caused such a stir. What I meant is in narrowbodies it's hard to ambulate due to only single aisle available, much much harder to walk up and down the aisle when others want to use it too.

I can't stand more than 3hrs on a narrow body because usually I'll get up and stretch myself after 2hrs plus. Can't imagine being stuck in a narrowbody tube for more than that.

Talking about nasi lemak on MH. Sampled one on KUL-BKI this morning, the sambal was extra spicy and definitely the 100ml spritzer was not enough to wash away the pain...

I've recently redeemed 5 tickets KBR-KUL-BKI for 11k(adult) and 7k for child. It's about the same rate circa 2000s when return TWU-KUL was 25k per person. I think economy seat wise not much changed, but if we're talking abt business class ones, the rate definitely has gone higher.

I thought the non IFE 738s of MH are long gone.. true that price of OD is quite competitive.

Why is there no uniformity in OD's services? Apart from the obvious livery issues, and then the NGs with no IFEs followed by LCC config on 737MAX.. it's like a lottery. Will i get bumped down to Y? Will I get no IFEs? It's affecting customers' trust.

Interesting that you mention the ATR ops. Their operation from KBR to SZB is around 10 flights per day. Not mentioning FY. I was onboard OD KBR-SZB few weeks ago and it was near full. And their ticket price is only rm5-10 cheaper than FY. And you get only mineral water. On FY you got currypuff/cake plus cordial drinks. My God I hope mods wont kick me out. Just realised this is a 73Max thread.. but as a OD fan needing flights KBR to BKI regularly, I feel unappreciated nonetheless due to their bad connections/frequency and their unwillingness to improve them.

OD's frequency and timing at several routes are quite bad. For instance there's no night 737 flights out of KBR to KUL vv. While Airasia are nailing it with 3 flights after 6pm. The same can be said of KUL-BKI route. Only 4-5 flights per day and gives their passengers less flexibility for onward connections.
