  1. [quote name='Isaac' date='12 October 2009 - 01:44 AM' timestamp='1255283079' post='240639' One question though, how come MH, SQ and CX are not listed Well the list did say airlines with no fatal accidents from 1970 onwards.
  2. Maybe they want to capture the tourist into Monaco market? But I agree, Nice doesn't make sense.
  3. I wonder if we would be lucky to see the Thunderbirds, the Blue Angels and the Red Arrows together in one show? I'm watching a documentary on Nat Geo about the Red Arrows and they actually did perform together with the two American teams and the Canadian Snowbirds at the 2008 Quebec Air Show.
  4. How heavy is a passenger who's holding his pee? Surely it's insignificant. Maybe if you take into account all the other pax it would probably be significant but come on! This is a half-hearted attempt to save the environment. We need to develop the technology to reduce emission faster rather than lame acts such as this!
  5. Is there any difference between MI and SQ flying into Penang?
  6. They should have came here in 2001 for LIMA 01, but then September 11 happened..
  7. It's a good thing they moved the barriers. All those lucky kids who get to sit at the very front. I wonder why they didn't build grandstand seats so that people can see the show in better comfort?
  8. How can they misspell aircraft?! 'Aurcraft'? Someone needs a good bollocking! Anyway, are these the only planes making it? Or will there be last minute additions? Remembered back in '99 there were MiG-29s from Russia, plus an Ilyushin IL-76 tanker if I'm not mistaken, making a flyby with two fighters demonstrating refueling. Plus two USAF F-16 and a KC-135, but I guess tomorrow's Thunderbird display is enough.
  9. Please MH. Don't let Skytrax downgrade your rating. It will be the ultimate slap in the face for you!
  10. Sometimes I feel like some of us here could run MH better than some of their managements, if only given the chance...
  11. I'm only familiar with the Kg. Melayu Subang entrance. Where is the main entrance?
  12. Here's an interesting info I got from a book about Airbus "Close To The Sun". Back in the 70s when Airbus was searching for customers for their struggling A300 program, they first went to SQ to sell them the plane. SQ said no, they're thinking about the DC-10. Then they went to MH, and persuaded them to buy the A300 by saying that MH could get the planes before SQ. Then when the contract's signed, Airbus went back to SQ and managed to sell the A300 to SQ by asking them, since MH is buying the A300 what are they going to do about it!
  13. Just because they're Middle Eastern, everything they do looks suspicious! Just go to show how racist people are these days.
  14. For the show, are we supposed to watch it by the side of the road, or can we go into the airbase to see it?
  15. I believe the female pilot is Maj. Nicole Malachowski. She finished her tour with the Thunderbirds in 2007.
  16. I don't think it will cheapen MH's name one bit. The price would deter many from trying. Only those who are well to do, or aviation enthusiasts who like to feel what it'll be like to be a pilot would go for it.
  17. That's sad. It's not his fault the plane crashed, why shouldn't they hire him?
  18. So when will we be able to fly to the US on D7? I'm actually eager to go to America to visit the National Air and Space Museum in Washington.
  19. Why can't they model themselves after Southwest Airlines, rather than Ryanair? Southwest is the daddy of all LCC.
  20. Does it have something to do with the Oakland Raiders, or is it something else?
  21. Here's the plot of the movie I got from IMDB - Compelling character study, revolving around Jack Flowers (Ben Gazzara), an American hustler trying to make his fortune in 1970s Singapore in small time pimping. He dreams of building a fortune by running a brothel himself and returning to the States to lead a life of luxury. Savvy but not unsavory he strikes up a friendship with William Leigh (Denholm Elliot), a genial and decent auditor who travels to Singapore every year. Ultimately, the background of the Vietnam War comes into the picture as Jack is offered the opportunity by the CIA to run a brothel for the R&R activities of U.S. soldiers on leave in Singapore. No wonder it's banned!
