  1. Would love to, but have to recover from my red-eye shifts before returning to office on Monday.
  2. SV, Ops as usual according to the airport. "Avalon Airport is again proud to be the venue for the 2009 Australian International Airshow. During the event being held 10-15 March all Jetstar flights will continue to operate as per their normal routine and schedule." Source: Avalon Airport website
  3. Agree. During non-sales period, fares ex AU is quoted at Full Flex price. Makes me wonder if the flights are really full or it's intentionally capped for whatever reasons.
  4. Training aside, I wonder if any of us here had put ourselves in the shoes of the cabin crew. What would you do? Don't think from your seat, but imagine you were there, in the situation, and a bit shocked by the reaction of the rude passenger. What could you have done better? Perhaps MH should review their training syllabus? Perhaps the module on dealing with difficult situation and unruly passenger needs to be strengthen? Or perhaps the SOP needs to be reviewed - to call upon the authorities for removal of unruly passenger...
  5. Thanks for the invite, Herman. But I can't make it to the fair - unless you can pax me to KUL and back over the weekend. Hehe.
  6. Honestly, does FY really need to fly direct to all these ports? No doubt it could align its schedule to feed into MH network, unless FY is trying to be a stand-alone airline based in Penang. In which case, it should not even ask for gomen subsidy. My view is, if you want to run an airline, you do your maths and you decide how you will remain profitable in your business.
  7. Sharp-looking C-17 in very sharp photos! Nicely done.
  8. Boy I wish I was there! I'll try to get a soft copy then share it here.
  9. Guys, Quick note from Xin Yi, The Star Metro, and her fellow photographer: Thank you! It was a really fun day out! Well done guys! Looking forward to your pics.
  10. Very sharp photos, kianhong! Virgin Very Blue....I like!
  11. Nice work, Iggy and Rayner! The dark clouds provided a very good backdrop for the 74F.
  12. Hi Aiman, Can I please ask what is the purpose of this mobile simulator? For general public's fun ride, or recruit training/testing?
  13. Dunno if this is helpful info at all, but found it on the net... Source: World Air Images And according to Airfleets.net, A6-VNO still belongs to Airbus Industrie. A6-EDA, EDB, EDC and EDD in flying operations with Emirates. A6-EDE, EDF, EDG and EDH on order. A6-VNO is a bit "far" away, isn't it?
  14. It could be tiring, but if the work rules governing their EBA does not see them "fatigue" for working those hours, they are deemed to be able to work within the limits. If there were delays, it simply means they have to either (1) go into discretion; or (2) refuse discretion and the flight will be re-crew-ed.
  15. Wow! Nice photos, Cornelis! Is that Airborne Express (1st pic) the one operating for DHL?
  16. Straight from the textbook... Safety.
  17. Good coverage, Aiman! Thanks for sharing. I hope they will be using LHS and RHS independently during MATTA fair, otherwise the queue is going to get very very long!
  18. Thanks for the update, Ong. Have fun guys!
  19. Very nice pics, kianhong! i miss Heliconia
  20. Sorry for starting a new thread. But I thought I could capture more attention by having this as a standalone thread. Attention aircraft spotters in KL! A journalist (and a photog) from The Star Metro will be joining us for our Sunday spotting session to know more about aircraft spotting and Malaysian Wings. This is a good opportunity for us to introduce this niche interest to the public (or at least, readers of The Star Metro), and to make a point that, as enthusiasts, we care too much about aviation to risk it in any way. We love the industry, and we shall protect it! Ok, so here are the details: Date - Sunday, 8th March 2009 Time - 12.30pm onwards Location - KLIA and about (Simon, if you have set a particular location, can you please let our MWing'ers know here?) If you can make it on the day, please turn up and say hi to our friends from The Star Metro. They are very friendly people and have never done aircraft spotting before. I have given the journalist some background information re aviation and spotting (Pieter, I've forwarded your suggested link to her). I won't be there on the day as I'm thousands of miles away from KL. But I wish you all the luck, hope you get some interesting traffic, impress the 'observers', and most importantly have a fantastic day out! Best wishes, Tony
