  1. great shots guys! thanks all for sharing. Wonder if i get a chance to visit the a380.
  2. Pardon my ignorance, but we (me & colleagues) never had problem booking freight space on the TG flight from BKK into VTE. Space is always available - and plenty of them too! Perhaps that truly reflects the low seat factor on the route...
  3. So, Rozhan, those 'services' are technically/by right available but the staff weren't adequately trained/informed?? Not a very pleasant experience I guess...
  4. Yes I do have a big stomach, Seth.
  5. Definitely the Boeing. Less transition cost incurred than the Airbus (retraining the pilots, FAs, ground crew, and maintenance staff). NG is the way to go.
  6. Though the focus of that article is on Domestic travel, I'd like to say that the service for International travel has deteriorated significantly. Just look at the inflight meals - smaller portion and more plasticwares introduced onto the tray!!
  7. the big fonts look nice on the a380
  8. thanks Gav. it takes longer for the 'hops' but it will be more reliable (less downtime).
  9. slightly OT - but TNT, is it Australian or Dutch company?
  10. Guess Airbus would rather pay compensation than lose the orders - at least they don't have to re-sell the products to new customers (just keep the old customers, pay them some $$$ and keep them in the queue).
  11. Lots of members, but limited posts. New stuff?
  12. Looks good on the fleet list, but not really the accounts. *bleeding* And ops, well, if they could fully utilise it and fill up the seats.
  13. ATC is an important part of "safe operations" for an airport. So whatever happens, there should be sufficient back-up to ensure 'normal ops' throughout.
  14. RB: D'oh! There goes my 3 seconds. @$#!%#$
  15. Ewan, this is something new, interesting, and very entertaining! More please?
  16. Not recommended. Caffeine does not increase one's situational awareness. It keeps the eyes opened, but the brain can remain shut.
  17. Gotta agree with BC. After reading Keith's ref(link), things didn't actually add up correctly... And the Captain gave a lecture on passenger behaviour?
  18. Best time to log on is when you are supposingly in bed.
  19. If the flight is not delayed (i.e. crew went ahead to fly), chances are - we get another accident. For me, I'd be more comfortable for the crew to refuse flying due fatigue, than actually hearing a tired voice over the PA once the aircraft is in air.
  20. Fairul, Perhaps I should have made it clearer that I hold a Bachelor of Aviation in Management. But still not telling from which uni, though a simple search on Google would get you very near to the correct answer. D'oh! I've heard stories about it... But let's just not talk about it here. Too sensitive for some. Yes, check-in is quite a fun job. I wouldn't mind - at the very least it's hands-on. And as a check-in agent, you have the 'power' of ruining one's day if s/he is not-so-cooperative. A 'NO' from you can be very 'powerful'.
  21. Sounds like a "Just let me land this baby and call it a day." Fatigue issues now?
  22. Keno, Cranfield is a good place for furthering studies in the area of Aviation. But as what you said, keeping your options open is very important. And frankly speaking, as many of us hope to be in the airline industry, there aren't too many jobs floating around for us to pick. What we get is often, but not always, what we don't really like to start with. A handful of my coursemates are just doing so-called Ground Service now, which is a posh term for Check-In Staff. Though, recalling that a few CEOs, too, started at the bottom of the pile, we believe that we will make it to the top one day. Keith, You have not gone OT la...Still education-related.
