  1. Imran, 1st based on loads, than 2nd on day of operation: availability (when certain aircraft brake-down)... Sorry, MD1 should have been M11
  2. Ben-G, Aircraft types are always published SUBJECT TO CHANGE In fact, a few airlines even use EQV (equipment varies) for aircraft type, NOT to pinpoint on a specific type Also, for operational reasons, a, let's say, 763 can be changed to a MD1 without notice to the passengers and at the last minute... This, KUL-STO-NYC flight, however, is a scheduled change due to lower loads during the Winter period...
  3. How about KLM cityhopper feedering for KLM or Lufthansa Cityline feedering for Lufthansa; both have a seperate management and (lower) pay-scale/WRR (more hours) making it more "profitable" for some routes... It's well known here in Europe; also look at SAS Braathens for SAS, Air Nostrum for Iberia and Eurolot for LOT...MAS should have done this a long time ago already IMHO... "MAS financial performance when compared to other (much) more successful airliners like SQ or CX": Both have no "domestic" obligatory routes to operate...
  4. Interesting development: It won't be Shenzhen, as I need a (quite expensive) visa for that, and don't wanna pay around USD50 visa-fee for such a short stay; so HKG might be an option (no visa needed) before coming to KUL, I might even fly along with you, S V !!! Will keep you posted, as have to check the AMS-HKG-KUL flights as well...
  5. Too bad they didn't show the airport: SVO-2 is old and messy; they'd better fly to DME, where LX is already serving the city...not sure if LH flies there too...
  6. It happens as well when seated in the C-class on KLM 747's (nose-section): it's the nose-wheel retracting and then the tires will hit the brakes inside the wheel-well, making a shudder...just my 2 sen
  7. Imran, NO problem with the dinner !!! We just have to agree on the date(s): so, sofar, Ben-G, Gavin, SV, Imran and me available ? Gavin, No hotel booked yet, but was thinking of Concorde KLIA to avoid long travel times between KLIA and the city and v.v. (unless, you've better ideas regarding hotels ?)
  8. Guys, As you might be aware of, both S V and myself will be in Malaysia between 31oct and 02nov 2005. It would be nice to have a MalaysianWings meet at KLIA on these days and do some spotting !!! I'm aware of the Ramadhan-period for lot's of our members, but, maybe we can still meet and do some photoshoots ? Both S V and myself have NO professional cameras, like you guys, so, please bear with us to look for some nice spots Who would like to join us; what's your favorite day(s) and period(s) (morning/afternoon or both) ? Where shall we meet ? Who can give us a lift ? It would be so nice to meet you all !!! Where "east" meets "west" Please, register/make a listing below... Your humble Moderator...
  9. Did you know 07oct is a very important day for Air France-KLM ? KLM was founded at 07oct1919 and Air France on 07oct1933, making the former 86 years old, and the latter 72 years: CONGRATULATIONS !!! NO, I'm not that old yet
  10. Azahan, As TF-ARW is a-300 series 747, no doubt, that's the FE "fiddling" with the power-levers
  11. Sing Yew, Awesome pictures: thanks for sharing !!! Always had a feeling Australia had nice weather, but this looks more like Scottish weather to me Is that your g-f opting to become an air-hostess for CX ??
  12. You'll be surprised to note the difference in cabin-noise caused by the engines: the 738 iso so much more quiet than the 734
  13. Azahan, Love that 348: even though not airborne as yet, she looks stunning and VERY clean Can see, you all had a great time: keep those shots comin' (P.S. those guys at the weather station didn't call/send-in the police; made no comments at all you were there ?)
  14. Kandiah, Guess, due to the "off-peak" Winterseason... KLM does that too, i.e. YVR used to be MD11, now back to 763
  15. Pieter C.

    DC-10

Azmal, Hope you like this one Taken at Chalons-sur-Marne/Vatry in France on 24jul2005.
  16. MIAT looks more a horse to me ... How about Hainan and/or Shan Xi airlines ???
  17. Pieter C.

    DC-10

    Azmal, Do ANY 3-holer apply, or just DC10's: How about YAK42, 727 and/or MD11 ?
  18. No scanning available However, it's Issue 317 page 64 for the Hawks and page 72 for the MIG29
  19. TeeKay, Thanks a lot for sharing these wonderful pictures !!! Do like the Macau 727 shots as well Congratulations on the fact that you made it to a Dutch spotters magazine as well: they published your MIG29 M43-10 in Scramble 317 page 72 - did you know this ???
  20. Ibrahim, Since you love Tri-jets, here's another one taken at AMS August 2005: taken with around 60mm See also the many parked KLC Fokker aircraft at the opposite side of runway 06-24 !!!
  21. Y J, INOP = inoperable (not usable)
  22. Sing Yew, Always Welcome !!! SQ operates T7's into AMS, though
  23. S V, That's what it says in the 1st line of Sandeep's post
  24. Ben-G, Nice shots; see, that's what I mean with Indian sub-continent flights (you don't see here): Jet, Indian, Air India, Air Lanka and PIA; IranAir only at AMS with the same boring A300-600 all the time Thanks for sharing; will keep that in mind: saturday mornings, huh ?
  25. Tried as well: if I win, S V be on the look-out : it will be the longest run on SQ possible from AMS (except if I choose LAX, I guess )
