  1. I agree with you Jadivindra. However, MH over the years has been hangat-hangat tahi ayam. Kalau suka buat, buat saja. Tak suka, biarkan~~ (Half baked mentality) Always half way there. If MH really do put in loads of effort, think they will put in J, Y+ and Y already since they dun earn much from F class. And J class that boomz! None of the current SEA carrier put in Y+ seats except for TG's A346 which in on the way out in next few years. If MH really do want a good bottomline and see AK/D7 as a BIG threat then they shud have Y+ class to earn some extra income. It works well in USA, but yet to be tested comprehensively in SEA.
  2. I think MH would most probably did their homework that they cannot compete with others in C class both in terms of number of pax and charging premium price in long run at least. Therefore not much thoughts have been given into the C class. At least Y class is awesome~~ Don't forget MH won Best Economy Class service before, perhaps MH is now putting its energy on Y class only?? Those Boxy C class is so yesterday by today's standard...
  3. Noted in Skyliner-aviation.de website: Genting Singapore Aviation bought ex French Government A319 CJ for high rollers. Airbus A319-115ACJ 1485 VQ-BKK Genting Singapore Aviation made acc flt at BOD 06apr11, all white ex F-RBFA DO you see B747SP soon like Las Vegas Sands Group??
  4. Its not only far better, its way better to the power of ten~~ better than the current one although I do prefer cloth padding sometimes.
  5. I think Air Asia downsized JHB significantly compared to its heyday when the 'new' AK was just re-launched. And I don't think they will expand anytime soon since its last downsizing, since Changi is nearby. Perhaps when the JHB airport is expanded.
  6. I think the power port is at the hand rest...the tip portion.
  7. Thanks Jahur~~~ Nice pix~~ I like how the labelling: economy & business are done.classy~~~ i think its the first airline to do that. would be good if they include the pilot and co-pilot and chief steward/stewardess names panel as well like what JAL and ANA do. The last photo of Y class is......SUPERB!! shows the airy and spaciousness of A333!!
  8. O.O!!! OMG!! It looks awesome POSSUM!!! Like the colours loads!! The new seat designs is a light years ahead of the current M&M colours!! Seems like MH is also using the same seat supplier as SQ! A let down would be the J class, not the design but after recline, it seems like its very tight for window seat pax to get out. Am very impressed by the new A333?!! What do you guys think?
  9. I can see that all A380s operators have 'specialties' in them....most J class, most narrowest Y class, most va va voom R class, most innovative: bathroom...duty free shops....now if I have the budget to travel every single one of them....
  10. Here you go AF Museum: http://www.flightglobal.com/airspace/media/a380/air-france-a380-the-gallery-37514.aspx
  11. EK is slaughtering every single airline on Earth....
  12. I am not trying to argue or flame anyone yea? Much apologies in advance. SQ's business model are heavily reliant on premium market, therefore, the Suite R class in A380s, better J class in both regional and international flights as well as soon-to-be unveiled upper deck all J class in A380s. The 'pride and prestige' exudes by SQ allows it to charge a premium price in which many people are willing to pay for it. On the other hand, MH rely on Y class for most of its business. I am not saying that they are not making money from F class and J class, but the number of seats of both classes clearly tells us that they are gunning for more Y class pax only. F class is only available on MH B744 eight seats only. With 38 seats in the new A333 it can be seen that MH is going for "quantity, not quality". Do you get the flow? Kinda oxymoron.... By charging below other airlines, MH hopes that they can make enough money from J class to recover the cost of operation. SQ's principle is opposite like what Johan has stated. They make money even if the J class is not fully packed. J class on most of my flight with SQ were packed to the brim, except maybe the SIN-KUL flight which many alternatives (i.e. LCCs) are available. MH is shying away from old days. I think the business model will work well for MH. Rather than flying empty F or J class, they can make some money from Y class. It would be even better if they pursue J, Y+ and Y class only. The example from people willing to pay for Hot Seats on AK proves that some of us Malaysians and our international friends are willing to pay a bit more for some extra space and service. I think it would be a even better for its financial bottom line. On the side note, I think its a trend now that most airlines are now having angled lie flat seats on their regional flights. GA's case is a bit different as their A333s fly some of their longest route. At least the angle is now at less than 10 degrees recline, almost flat bed. Hopefully, when the A380s arrives, MH will have the same J seats but with fully lie flat seats. Hey, we now have PTVs on our A333 which should be in since like n number of years ago.... Much apologies if I offended anyone. Please do point teach if I made a mistake.
  13. Based on the pix, amy I say...MH is now mengecewakan harapan..? or musnah harapan?? However, since day 1,I dun think MH will roll out anything revolutionary as what SQ, EK or Etihad had done over the years. MH tends to use 'follow-others' approach as well. TG is also doing the same now. TG's J class looks cramped based on the seat pitch when all are reclined. Since there aren't many seat manufacturers, once can deduced how some 'follow-others' airlines cabin will look like. Notable ones are EADS Sogerma, B/E Aerospace, Recaro, Thompson Aero Seating, Weber and Koito (will they survive?)... I am surprised that most SEA's fleet renewal come about the same time. GA, SQ, MH and TG A333 hop on board almost at the same time. The missing pieces: PAL....
  14. hahas!!! I am keeping my hands and legs crossed...toes as well. Please dun fail us Malaysia Airlines.....
  15. In a non related manner and in my opinion I don't think Malaysia Airlines will be joining any alliance soon as they have agreements with many airlines of all three alliances for its hub-and-spoke system. Rescinding all these contracts and agreements maybe a hassle.
  16. they are going down the hill....again. history is repeating itself even with new equipment....who works in inflight experience team? (no offense intended..)
  17. "Qantas would not speculate on how much the sales would earn, but reports said each plane could fetch as much as Aus$20 million ($20.8 million) thanks to interest from low-cost Indian and Southeast Asian carriers." More B734 for Indonesia and India?? I thought most Indian airlines are now phasing out B734 for new B738, B739 and A320...no?
  18. oh my...creating a frenzy here~~ hahas!! cabin photos!! I have a feeling that it will be the same as B738, only it will be a bit wider..
  19. May their soul rest in peace... Btw, doesn't all prototype aircraft have fail-safe mechanism? Perhaps even if they have, the roll over happened too fast....
  20. PARIS (AP) - Undersea robots have located a "large part" of an Air France jet that plunged into the Atlantic Ocean in 2009, but haven't yet found its black box flight recorders, French officials said Monday. Victims' families cautiously welcomed the surprise announcement that search teams have located pieces of the plane, after nearly two years of fruitless efforts to determine what caused it to crash. Investigators have said without the recorders, the cause may never be determined. All 228 people aboard the plane were killed when the flight, en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, slammed into the ocean June 1, 2009, after running into an intense high-altitude thunderstorm. More info: http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2011/4/4/apworld/20110404165345&sec=apworld It is currently being discussed in airliners.net, although a bit "blind discussion": http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/5108523/
  21. Will we see more B733 heading to Victorville or Greenwood? More Coke cans!!!
  22. hahas!! The reason why I didn't use "much earlier" so as to not to be boasting our MH but then again we should be proud MH is the first SEA airline to fly all six continents.(although at a price...lolx) Yeap, MH is the first full service airline to introduce B738 with Sky Interior. FlyDubai is the first LCC to fly B738 with Sky Interior. Amazingly, FlyDubai's first flight was few weeks before MH's. The aviation world is now divided into FSC and LCC...anything in between fails....hahas!!!
