  2. Oh oh....storm is brewing?? Nadi to exit Malindo Air? Posted on 17 December 2013 - 05:38am PETALING JAYA: More than a year into its partnership to form the country’s newest airline, Malindo Air, owners Indonesian billionaire Rusdi Kirana and National Aerospace Defence & Industries Bhd (Nadi) are said to have fallen out, with talk of a possible exit of Nadi from the business. Sources say that the bone of contention between the two is to do with the leadership and management of Malindo Air. It is understood that Nadi, which has largely been content with letting Rusdi steer the airline, is now keen to appoint its own candidate to helm it. Rusdi, however, is adamant that Chandran Rama Muthy, his former personal assistant remains as CEO of the airline. This difference of opinion, among others, has led to the possibility of Nadi selling its stake in Malindo Air. More at http://www.thesundaily.my/news/907212
  3. All these delays would not have happened if all various stakeholders were brought together in the various meeting and feedback session pre-launching, on going and post construction. It would definitely lessen the blaming game, MAHB can only blame AirAsia for that few times for their supposed 'change in design'. So now what excuse they going to use? Remember pre-GE13, the opposition lawmakers had stated KLIA2 will not be completed for handover in June 2013. The ruling parties jumped on the gun and promised vehemently it would be done. Then two days after the election, MAHB retracted and said the delay was "indefinite". On May 14, the general manager Fawzy Ahmad said KLIA2 could only be ready by "4th quarter 2013". Now it is delayed again...... Competency, accountability and responsibility, these three words never exist in GLC's dictionary. Chronology of events up till 28th June 2013, the supposed 6th re-timed handover date.

  5. S2-ACP is 34.9 years old, dated back to SQ's era. Delivered on 03-03-1979 to SQ. Named 'City of Dhaka'. Retired recently as they reluctant to spend any more $$ to fix her damages. S2-ACR is 25.3 years old, bought new. second last DC-10 off production line. Ironically named 'New Era'. Delivered on 30-12-1988 to BG.

  7. Citibank cards are well known for its generosity. You can get discount, rebate or cash rewards with almost any shops in Malaysia. This doesn't come as surprise.
  8. All argument sums up in three words: Mana Ada System= MAS..........made popular by our own politicians..................
  9. RB could barely make it already, yet they are still toying around with in their lofty dream to set up another airline....?? I think some people needs serious brain check. It doesn't take a rocket science to know a population of 400,000 does not have the economies of scale to sustain two airlines.....
  10. Not when you highly publicised that you are offering the public a chance to try out the 'new flying experience' heavily in online and traditional media.......on the definite route on definite period of time!
  11. I am now fuming mad at RB for displaying her B787 to Dubai Air Show. I had painstakingly arranged a trip for my mum because she wanted to board the 787. I wonder why Royal Brunei is so busybody displaying their B787 at DAS when they proudly promoted their 787 schedule to SIN, KUL, MNL and BKI at first place?!! If they know they are going to display their aircraft way in advance, why bother to promise their passengers that 787 will be deployed on regional flights these few days!?!!
  12. Thanks for the detailed explanation, as usual, flee! Since MH has been in red for most of the past few years, I think it would be a better choice for them to lease aircraft rather than buying.
  13. Yes, I agree. However, I was asking why didn't MH include 9M-MKA with other 9M-MKC-MKJ A333 which were sent earlier for scrapping. I don't think Malaysia want to risk her relationship with USA and EU by selling those A330 to Iran.
  14. I guess those who are travelling PEN-HKG are quite well-off and can afford to pay extra for full service carrier. They will only choose LCC should the FSC options runs out. Demographics do play role on the survivability of route.
  15. Thanks Ahmad for the update. I won't be surprised if she is not included in the same package sold as her other sisters. All of them went to Tupelo, US to be scrapped.
  16. I do think the marketing team is not as strong as those of AK Group. AK Group used guerilla marketing when they first started of in 2001. OD didn't do much publicity.
  17. No, not accroding to current Boeing schedule. Earliest we will see will be in 2020 when the production starts in full swing. 2019 will be test flight and etc. Perhaps MH can consider cosmetic upgrading like the seat cover and buff up those wear and tear.......Smarties anyone??
  18. They will either lease them out as test aircraft for some new technology, lease out as interim aircraft to airline, stored them permanently or scrap them........better yet sell them to Hollywood Studio....
  19. Boeing or Airbus might want to ask MH to get a number and join the queue......Both queue have a lot of prominent airlines, waiting for their plane, most if not all aircraft might have been allocated to intended airlines. Airbus taking in MH's B777 for A350?? Hehe!
  20. Hahas!! I had the same case last month during the inaugural RB's 787 flight! RM 23 for nasi lemak!! Gila ba*i!!
  21. Oh my, the union voted down B777-X.....This doesn't come as surprise when Boeing seeks to cut their pension funds as well as health insurance benefits.
