  1. It was mentioned in the previous topic that we had. http://www.malaysianwings.com/forum/index....=5382&st=60 If only it works in the way we want=)
  2. Everyone will point their finger at each other till the government says something about it...lol...it would be just better if FAX keep the RAS and solve the problem themselves.no pointing finger business here and there especially when they intend to purchase new aircrafts.i pity Bombardier and ATR because they have already submitted their RFP to MAS thrice with MAS running into crisis and they cancel their intention on purchasing new aircrafts followed by RAS handed over to FAX.The last RFP submitted was a success followed by a purchase done by FIREFLY.lol.RFP to FAX??? haha...once and forget about it because they want to hand the RAS back to MAS.
  3. haha...i think everyone should be expecting the announcement end of this year during LIMA.Remember that they said end of this year? 737NG?
  4. CEKAL - CN245 PANJI ALAM - HAWK MEGAH - C130 MAKTAB - PC07 TARING - MIG 28 ANGKASA....ummm there is a difference in between MEGAH and ANGKASA either one of it is training flight but same aircraft. if i'm not wrong.=)
  5. ummmm...i don't remember writting a cover letter to them asides a letter of recommendation from the company that i was working for and my CV.=) i think the best, asides from elaborating to them what you have done n etc.you just have to attached those certified true documents along with your CV and the SIA application form.the best would be with a recommendation letter.i wrote in that way and it did work for me.=) just my 2 cents.
  6. July 16, 2007 12:04 PM Search For Missing Nuri Enters Fourth Day GENTING HIGHLANDS, July 16 (Bernama) -- Fine weather is expected to facilitate ground and aerial search for a Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) helicopter with six crew on board which went missing here on Friday. The search and rescue (SAR) mission, which entered its fourth day Monday, comprises 924 personnel with the search area having been expanded to include the hilly terrain here and in Ulu Yam, Selangor. The search for the Nuri helicopter, a Sikorsky S-61 which disappeared during a flight from the RMAF base in Sungai Besi to Kuantan, is the biggest seen in the country in the last few years involving various authorities and more than 15 helicopters and planes. A "Sea Hawk" helicopter of the US navy and a helicopter belonging to the Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah have also joined in the search. The regular SAR teams comprise members of the crack VAT 69 police commando unit, the special air unit Paskau, the army's special operations force, civil defence personnel and the Senoi Praaq comprising agile Orang Asli who can move swiftly in the jungle as well as local residents. For the past three days, the aerial search was hampered by poor visibility due to thick fog, heavy rain and strong winds. The ground team members also encountered difficulties in negotiating their way through the dense forest and hilly terrain. The satellite system apparently could not be used to trace the missing Nuri as the aircraft did not emit any signals. It is learnt that the number of SAR ground team would be increased if there is no positive development by noon. Fifty soldiers from Penang are waiting for the green light to join in the search. The missing crew are said to be able to last between six and eight days subsisting on food foraged from the forest. They are pilot Kapt Nor Azlan Termuzi, co-pilot Kapt Nor Intan Asykeen Mohd Arof, air quartermaster Sgt Khusnizam Ariffin, Sgt Azmie Md Yassin, senior airman Saifulizam Alias and airman Muhammad Ridzuan Ahmad.
  7. i believe sometimes this services should be provided as a complimentary rather than a compulsory service to the people around as they will always remember whenever when they want to travel, they will just simply know who to look for first.=).moreover airline business have always been in the case where they are served from the point they check in till they disembark. just my 2 cents.
  8. Now "Everyone" Can Fly !!! Lol...
  9. US Navy Sends Sea Hawk Helicopter To Locate Missing Nuri GENTING HIGHLANDS, July 15 (Bernama) -- A "Sea Hawk" helicopter of the US Navy Sunday joined the aerial search for the missing RMAF Nuri helicopter and the six airforce crew on board. It was sent to assist RMAF and Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) aircraft scouring a 30 sq km area around here since the Nuri helicopter went missing on Friday, said RMAF public relations office Mejar Zulkiflee Abdul Latif. A 450-member ground team set out to look for the US-made Sikorsky S61 on first light today. However, the search was hampered by thick fog at the Genting Sempah area, he told Bernama. Zulkiflee said the search area would be widened to Gunung Mengkuang, beyond Genting Highlands, if the missing helicopter was still not located. Zulkiflee also said the crack VAT 69 commando team, which entered the dense forest and hilly terrain at Genting Sempah, near here, yesterday, is expected to come out today. The police, soldiers, civil defence personnel, villagers and Orang Asli have also been mobilised in the ground search for signs of the helicopter which disappeared while on a flight to the Gambang Air Base, near Kuantan, from the Sungai Besi RMAF base in Kuala Lumpur. The missing crew are pilot Kapt Nor Azlan Termuzi, co-pilot Kapt Nor Intan Asykeen Mohd Arof, air quartermaster Sgt Khusnizam Ariffin, Sgt Azmie Md Yassin, senior airman Saifulizam Alias and airman Muhammad Ridzuan Ahmad.

  11. July 14, 2007 17:58 PM Dense Forests, Steep Inclines, Thick Mist Hamper Copter Search GENTING HIGHLANDS, July 14 (Bernama) -- An estimated 400 people mobilised to search for a missing Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) helicopter are facing the challenge of dense forests, steep inclines and thick mist in a 60 sq km hilly terrain of Genting Highlands where the aircraft with six crew is believed to have disappeared yesterday. The search-and-rescue team, comprising the police, soldiers, civil defence personnel, villagers and Orang Asli, are scouring the heavily forested area on the ground, and from the air with the aid of two RMAF Nuri helicopters - the type of aircraft that went missing - as well as one helicopter from the police and another from the Fire and Rescue Department. The team is to be strengthened this evening with personnel from the crack VAT 69 commando unit and the unique Senoi Praaq which boasts Orang Asli trackers who have the agility to move swiftly in the jungle, however dense it may be. This information was disclosed by Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Najib Abdul Aziz at the operations centre set up at the Aminuddin Baki Institute here. Hopes of quickly finding the missing helicopter, which lost contact with the control tower at the RMAF base in Sungai Besi at 9.35 am, 10 minutes after taking off yesterday, hinge on a faint signal emanating from a mobile telephone of one of the six people on board. Mohd Najib, who is an uncle of the pilot of the missing aircraft, Capt Norazlan Termuzi, said the telephone signal was still detectable by the Maxis telecommunications tower at Km 36.5 of the Karak highway, between Gombak and Genting Highlands. He said the search-and-rescue team had secured the assistance of the telecommunications company but attempts to pinpoint the exact location from where the signal was coming have yet been successful. The exact location could be easily established if the telephone was within a five kilometre radius of the transmitting tower, he added. "The focus of our search is now confined to an area of 55 sq km to 60 sq km in the hilly terrain of Genting Highlands, including Genting Bidai-Awana, Genting Sempah and Gohtong," Mohd Najib told reporters at the Bukit Tinggi police station. "For the moment, we can only pray that all the six crew members of the helicopter are safe," he said. Besides Capt Norazlan, the other crew members were co-pilot Capt Nor Intan Asykeen Mohd Arof, air quartermaster Sergeant Khusnizam Ariffin, Sergeant Mohd Azmie Md Yassin, senior airman Saifulizam Alias and airman Muhammad Ridzuan Ahmad. The transport helicopter was carrying air force personnel to relieve their colleagues at the base in Gambang near Kuantan when it went missing. The Nuri was scheduled to reach its destination at 10.25 am.
  12. haha...i guess it is alright to ask this question because there is alot of people always having the thought that the plane is flown by autopilot and everything is in control by the "computer system" which makes the pilot job look so easy. but the truth is it is only helps them to reduce their workload. my words for them out there. a) always looking into procedures incase of any emergency or adverse situation such as engine failure in-flight,rapid depressurisation or any types of non normal condition that does not allow the flight to proceed to its destination. weather? for the comfort of passengers... and remember this is always done constantly to avoid any ambiguity on decision making i believe and reduce the workload as well when a crisis occur. just my 2 cents. remember the pilot tells the computer what to do not the computer tells what the computer to do=)

  19. Boeing Delivers 777-200ER in Asiana Airlines' New Livery SEATTLE, June 28, 2007 -- Boeing today delivered a 777-200ER (Extended Range) airplane to Asiana Airlines in the airline's new livery. The South Korean-based airline introduced its new livery during a celebration in November 2006, which features a tail design using traditional Korean colors on a gray background. The airline's fleet will be converted to the new livery over the next five years. Asiana operates a mixed fleet of more than 60 airplanes, including 737s, 747s and 767s, that connects more than 60 cities in 17 countries. The twin-engine 777 is the most fuel-efficient airplane in its category, a key element in its leading economic performance, and it releases fewer emissions into the environment than its four-engine competitor.
  20. this place is certainly gonna spice things up alittle around in subang and i believe that it most likely will have a great impact on AA if there is a consideration for those PJ folks to fly they would rather travel there and fly since it is more convenient and faster as well.what more when they even have frequent bas services to that airport now?
  21. KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 (Bernama) -- A government backbencher today expressed doubt over the safety of AirAsia flights and urged the government to monitor the situation. In making the call, Datuk Ronald Kiandee (BN-Beluran) said he was concerned over the safety of the low-cost carrier's flights especially in servicing the rural areas. For example, he said, two AirAsia aircraft had landed at the Sandakan Airport although their Instrument Landing System was not functioning for several hours at the end of last year. Recently, a plane from the same company en-route to Kota Kinabalu, had to turn back, he said when debating the Carriage By Air (Amendment) Bill 2007 in the Dewan Rakyat. In reply, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Azlan Sultan Abu Bakar said the ministry viewed the matter seriously and would make recommendations to tackle it. "The ministry has to deeply study the proposal to ensure that in the future, airline operators in the country can afford to handle their flight systems well both domestically and internationally," he said when winding up the debate. He said the government had recently decided for Malaysia Airlines (MAS), through its subsidiary MAS Wings, to take over the rural air service in Sabah and Sarawak. Replying to Datuk Paduka Badruddin Amiruddin (BN-Jerai) on compensation that could be claimed by air passengers, Tengku Azlan said the same rate applies to all airline companies including low-cost carriers. On the 1999 Montreal Convention raised by Datuk Razali Ismail (BN-Kuala Terengganu), he said Malaysia adopted the convention to create a uniformity in air transport service and to improve the compensation claim system. The Dewan Rakyat later passed the Bill. Also passed was the Pathology Laboratory Bill 2007. -- BERNAMA p/s haha "finally" they realise that
  22. "We have purchased two of the aircraft (for Firefly), and there's still one sitting there with PMB today," he said. Here again i would like to state what is said in the press release by ATR "The aircraft are intended for the expansion of Firefly - subsidiary airline 100 % owned by MAS " said D.Idris Jala
  23. i have a question here.might sound a little bit too stupid but it takes a little while to absorb what i will say. These aircraft that is purchased is done via MAS itself or its parent company PMB which is done in the leasing manner like the A380? as far as am i concern the aircraft F50 for the firefly company is actually being purchased from PMB by MAS for the use of firefly? here it says "We have those three additional aircraft sitting there, basically doing nothing, until MAS set up Firefly. We asked (PMB) whether we could purchase those aircraft." quoted by D.Idris Jala "We have purchased two of the aircraft (for Firefly), and there's still one sitting there with PMB today," he said. Here again i would like to state what is said in the press release by ATR "The aircraft are intended for the expansion of Firefly - subsidiary airline 100 % owned by MAS " sound like MAS is slowly getting on their feet again after having all their aircrafts being sold to PMB last time when they were in trouble. =) It feels funny because MAS has been running into cash strapped situation for a while and they are able to purchase new aircraft right now. Are they the second airline around to come back from having debts of millions or billions after AIRASIA?
