  6. ummmmm......i'm not too sure about the charges around...but i do remember one thing very clearly about what happened when my parents bought the tickets to langkawi last year.. the story goes in such a way...they bought the cheap ticket of rm9.99 one way to langkawi and each ticket was charged with this thing written as "TAXES" which cost my parents to pay rm45 for each ticket.Unfortunately , my parents wasn't able to travel due to unforseen circumstances. However hopes of retrieving anything from what my parents paid was not successful till the transport minister himself order/announce that travellers who did not manage to travel will be reimburse immediately on the airport taxes. When i gave a call to the AK ticketing centre i was told that for each ticket they will only reimburse RM6 from the RM45 we paid.I was like asking them why will i only be reimburse RM6 instead of RM45 and i was told that the remaining RM38 will not be reimburse as i'll have to pay for the administration fees, fuel surcharge and etc. -.-" so they can only reimburse RM 6 for each ticket that i paid. I was left fuming after knowing that they wrote it as TAXES over in the receipt that was printed as i wanted to bring this matter up to Consumer Tribunal and Claims.I was rather speechless and disappointed because i remember that AIRASIA has always claimed that they still do not impose any fuel surcharge on their air fares...-.-".... sigh...this is what i went through...would just like to share it with you all on that...

  10. me?nah, long way more to go. as i know there is so many more batches in front of you.kinda pity you guys.but anyway what heck,it is for our dream.=) good to hear that things are improving there.I am pretty sure now that the reading materials has been improved significantly as well asides from the facilities.maybe we should start a new forum where we help people on their stuff in flying school.anything about that you learn flying school since we are drifting off the topic.
  11. man tough question.lol.from what i recalled,we just have to ensure that it is not covered/sealed during the preflight check.Whether the reading on the instrument is reliable or not we do a speed check during takeoff. If we find it unreliable we will perform a rejected takeoff procedure (in this case the airspeed will not be active/climb if it blocked). As for the altimeter(static),aerodrome QNH that is set on the altimeter should show its elevation field as per the chart and the manufacturer or company will lay out the max deviation allowed.Passing these limitations will require the aircraft to checked. correct me if i am wrong, just thinking from the logic point of view. =)
  12. honey lemon and guava juice sudah... lol Brennan - how is langkawi treating you?good?
  13. cars? lol ...it reminds me of those days when i was young and thinking how does an aircraft reverse without its mirror.lol. asides from the noticing the engine fire, it also to allow the passengers eye to adapt to darkness and the windows blind are up as well in order to look for the lights outside in case of emergency evacuation leaving no other exits available.
  14. haha,i know how it feels from doing the observation flights.lol. speaking about misconception biasa lar tu...."pilot r? must be romeo/making a lot of money/easy work auto pilot kau tim ni!!!" -.-" yea, i think it is better to keep our profile low,not that we are not proud of what we are working as,but just to prevent ourselves from getting aimed in any matter.
  15. they want only actual SPM results with preference in getting the photocopied unit certified as well. all the best to you brother.which school are you from? hey damian, nice lar sit down become safety co and earn money only...last but not least PARTY!!!...haha... sanjay- chill dude..i do notice quite a number of threads that belongs to you.just gotta try to be a little bit more passive sometimes. all the best in your training btw. jason- aiyor...not all of them are interested in what we do.perhaps the minority ones.i think to them it feels just like when you were getting educated about biology during form 4 n 5 that time asides from the reproduction chapter.
  16. eh pilots out there equip your gf's with aviation knowledge so that they don't get cheated and instead of that they get a "smack" back at their own face.lol. lol...a FAQ in the airline i guess.=)
  17. My answer is that they do but with a few conditions. They will have to seat for a few papers before they can fly. Papers like airlaw 1 and 2. Call licensing department at 03-88714000.
  18. friday night?1755.rush hours i guess.there is alot arrival during that period as well.considering if you want to stay in westin i suggest that it is better off to take a cabbie. And if the counter lady in KLIA ever tell you that you have to wait for long.Don't buy that story.if i'm not wrong it only cost you at most Rm70 for the cab ride to KL city. ERL rm35 Starbucks rm15 Cab to Hotel rm15 --------- Total rm65 ______ but i think you'll save at least an hour by taking a cab directly.=) my 2 cents

  20. Boeing, Jet Airways Announce Order for Three 777-300ERs August 02, 2007 10:34 AM SEATTLE -- The Boeing Company and Jet Airways, India's largest private airline, today announced that the airline has exercised options for three 777-300ER (Extended Range) airplanes. The order, valued at more than US$790 million at list prices, follows a previous order for 10 777-300ERs in September 2005, for a combined total of 13 777-300ERs. The order was recently included on the Boeing Commercial Airplanes Orders and Deliveries Web site, attributed to an unidentified customer. "It is vital that Jet Airways continues to expand its fleet progressively to ensure its leadership position in India's dynamic aviation market," said Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal. "The 777's operating efficiencies and passenger comfort play a pivotal role in our long-haul growth strategy, and will play a pivotal role as we expand our international operations." Jet Airways took delivery of its first 777-300ER in April. In December 2006, the airline also placed an order for 10 787 Dreamliners. "The 777's market-leading efficiency and passenger comfort will help our airline customers generate profitability from their operations," said Dinesh Keskar, Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice president, Sales. "Jet Airways is making the passenger-preferred 777 a cornerstone for its success."
  21. MAS Board Of Directors Backs Idris Jala August 01, 2007 21:46 PM KUALA LUMPUR, August 1 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines (MAS) board of directors today threw their weight in support of chief executive officer Datuk Idris Jala following the series of delays that dogged the national airline's operations recently. Although the board apologised to customers for inconveniences caused by the delays, MAS chairman Datuk Dr Munir Majid said they have full confidence in Idris and his management team to improve the on-time performance and staff morale. "The board recognises that under Idris' leadership, the management and members of staff of the airline have achieved a stupendous turnaround of the company's financial performance when it was on the brink of insolvency not too many months ago," he said in a statement. "This is no mean achievement and it will be built upon, even as the company faces operational and staff morale issues. The board is confident that Idris and his team are on top of these issues and will address them in a way that will satisfy internal and external stakeholders," he added. In one of its recent delays, MAS had to apologise to Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy and Human Resources Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chan Onn for causing them to miss the Sabah Malaysian Chinese Association Convention. However, Chan opted to back the national carrier, saying that he was happy that MAS made the right decision by delaying the flight as the aircraft had faced technical problems. "The board also wishes to assure the company's customers and the public generally that at no time has safety and security been compromised," Munir said. "The management fully understands and is totally committed to this consideration which comes well ahead of any other factor before an aircraft is allowed to fly. This has always been the case, and it was no different during recent spate of delays," he said. Munir noted that the airline's on-time performance yesterday improved to 76.7 percent as operational and technical issues were being pinpointed, while further shortcomings and inadequacies both in standards and procedures, internal and external, have been identified and would be corrected. He said while the turnaround plan was a massive one, some lessons have been learned on its implementation on how to spread it out, in time and process, and against sensitivities. "What the board feels is important is that those lessons have been learned and that the airline moves on with the good management leadership that the company is fortunate to have in an industry which is intensely competitive," he added. Munir said MAS has also set up a special task force comprising unions, associations and management members, to be led by chief financial officer Datuk Tengku Azmil Zahruddin, to address all staff issues and concerns, of which a number had been resolved. According to him, the airline is now at the crossroads of achieving a complete turnaround under Idris, making it more competitive in a difficult industry. Thus, he said, the board urged internal stakeholders to dedicate themselves with professionalism and discipline to the challenge even when issues arise, which could be resolved in good faith.
  22. haha.....imagine if the aircraft delay is caused by these "loudspeakers"...which is a normal situation i believe...any words for them in the press?
  23. yup,HMZ is their twin engine.that is the last one.but i think the registration for HMA and HMC should still be available because they have sold 2 of their TB10 with that registration after receiving the delivery of diamond a/c. The 6 DA42 has been delivered to LGK.As for the DA40 i'm not sure about it because when they ordered the Twins, they did at the same time order DA40 equipped with the G1000.The intention of the order is actually done to fullfil the new implementation of the course of MPL ( Multi Pilot Licence ) by HMA. They were considering on purchasing the Citation for JET training as well. But i don't think that HMA consider to pursue further on the MPL,maybe in the future
  24. i thought the last time when the singapore government rejected the proposal from TF flying into s'pore he said that "We will be able to survive without that route"
  25. Is it even confirm that they(MAS) are getting the A380?
