  4. Second ATR72-600 for MASwings delivered MSN 1153 ATR 72-600 (72-212A) Test Reg: F-WWER First Flight: 19-05-2014 Reg: 9M-MYB Delivered: 24-05-2014 The delivery flight of this Twin Otter is taking some time with various delays enroute. On the 26th May it had only just reached Magadan-Sokhol in Russia. So still some way to go before arriving in Kota Kinabalu. Geoff
  5. Any serial visible on the Do328JET? It is in the same colour scheme as N821MW was before being cancelled and sold to the Philippines earlier this month. 23085 - A US Air Force Special Operations Command C-146A a long way from home. Great catches Geoff
  6. Thanks for the update Flee Deliveries of new airliners to Malaysia averaging 1 per week so far this year!
  7. For sure another project to add to the list of ambitious plans that won't come to anything. Geoff
  8. This route was only started in late March if I remember correctly with three flights per week. So only lasted about 10 weeks. Forward bookings must have been low. I wonder what load factor they have had on these flights. Geoff
  9. Indonesia Air Asia operated PK-AWS, B737, with the "Amazing" Race Asia TV series promotion titles that were added when it was originally 9M-AAX Thai Air Asia also had several special colour scheme B737s. Geoff
  10. Yes and quite rightly so. AirAsia can at least be applauded for taking this initiative, even if it should be an Immigration responsibility. However, I think the system will only provide a check for stolen, lost or maybe cloned passports, not forged passports. I wonder how long before there will be a "hidden" fee added to your Air Asia booking for security checks? Geoff
  11. MASwings 5th Viking Air DHC-6-400 Twin Otter, MSN 894, is on delivery right now. It departed Victoria, Canada, 10th May 2014 on its delivery flight as C-GNVA. Will become 9M-SSE. Photos on http://twinotterspotter.blogspot.co.uk/ Geoff
  12. It was closed on 28th April when I was last at KLIA. Geoff
  13. MASwings MASwings has received their 4th Viking Air DHC-6-400 Twin Otter 9M-SSD. It departed Canada on 1st April 2014 and should have arrived in Malaysia on or just after 8th April. It was delivered carrying Canadian serial C-GFVT and is MSN 893. Also MASwings' second ATR72-600 9M-MYB/F-WWER MSN 1153 has been noted painted up mid-last month at TLS so should be delivered very soon. Geoff

  16. So exactly when did terrorists declare peace time? Do you think it is acceptable that an airliner can fly across Malaysia, undetected or ignored? If MH370 had been hijacked and the terrorists wanted to emulate 9/11 would you be defending the Air Force for doing nothing? Geoff

  18. It seems highly likely that MH370 entered Indonesian airspace at some point. Has anyone seen any statement from Indonesia confirming the aircraft was or was not detected? Maybe the Indonesian Air Force were sleeping on the job like the Malaysian Air Force and either did not detect it or did and didn't do anything about it. Hindsight is a great thing but the TUDM failed spectacularly to defend the nation against a potential significant threat and no one has taken responsibility for this. Had the Air Force done its job the outcome of this tragedy may have been different.
  19. Routed Kuala Lumpur-Delhi-Abu Dhabi-Istanbul-Amsterdam-St Athan Why does an empty 737-4 have to make so many stops enroute? With a full passenger load I think a 737-400 can fly around 2000nm. Geoff
  20. Wow - best catch of the year so far, probably for the whole of 2014! Thanks for sharing Nik Geoff
  21. PDRM can rest easy now they have shut down this obvious hotbed of terrorist activity.
  22. Went to go to Anjung Tinjau today and it is closed to the public. Police officer told me permanently but maybr someone here can confirm. Geoff
  23. 9M-CRA, 9M-CRB, 9M-CRC & 9M-CRD reserved for four CL600-2B19s for Berjaya Air Sdn Bhd. Anyone know when deliveries will start? Geoff
