ATC's error causes EVA Air 77W near miss near LAX
Alif A. F. replied to S V Choong's topic in General Aviation
Two years ago while lazying around surfing FR24 during a daytime windy rainstorm, saw a China Airlines A330 was descending towards Runway 20, but when it passed above Tuaran, it suddenly turned to east directly on course towards Mt Kinabalu region presumably to wait for better weather condition at the airport. Quite anxious observing that plane headed that direction, though I am pretty sure that was just me. Not sure if that manouvre ever discussed internally among local ATCs. -
KLIA's Jungle Centrepiece is Allegedly Destroyed
Alif A. F. replied to Amirul Mazlan's topic in General Aviation
MAHB's credibility remains intact (more or less)...phew... -
Where will ANA deploy their -neos? IMO, the -neos can provide ANA opportunities to go for more secondary cities within range of this aircraft type as similar to how the 787s opens up more direct flights to secondary US cities.

Those TV screens in economy look huge!

Qantas to Fly Non-Stop Perth to London with B787-9

One of the latest slews of point to point ULR flights. Being 16-17++ hours non-stop up in the air will be a new normal. -

I forgot how immaculate KLIA was back then... -
Wow, a daily flight seems a bit too ambitious one might ask...I was expecting 3x per week. Though, the timing will be great for spotters!

AK will terminate CGK-BKI route in January 2017. Hoping Lion Air/Batik Air Malaysia take this opportunity...

That was 16 hours non-stop crossing the Pacific!

Singapore Airlines direct flights to Tel Aviv?
Alif A. F. replied to Shahid's topic in General Aviation
As far as I know, Mideast Big 3 do not offer direct services to TLV, though EK purportedly advertised via Amman. Perhaps TK will be affected? -
Makes me think that Maswings may become irrelevant especially in Sabah where quite a number of small rural airstrips hv been closed for past years as land based connectivity improves.

Finally realising NEO has slightly different engine sound...☺

Wow, just wow! A million thanks Jahur for superb and rare photos! A Boeing 77W is truly a first for BKI. Who knows, maybe it would be A380 next. ☺

Firefly freezes capacity growth as demand slows

Very odd of FY for placing codeshares on KK based routes, when the airline doesn't even fly to east Malaysia anymore. -
Malaysia Airlines to implement self-print baggage tag

JQ has been asking guests to DIY for quite sometime now. Not as difficult as I imagine if you pay attention to the instruction.☺ -
PK-LOF was at BKI too today doing another round of China charters. Now back at DPS. Speaking of which, will there be a possibility for JT to pick up the slack left by AirAsia and start regular DPS-BKI service?

HL7750 is on its way to BKI now as LJ61.

Air Seoul, newest Korean LCC to start operation today
Alif A. F. replied to JuliusWong's topic in General Aviation
Can add Jin Air and Jeju Air to the list. I think there is possibility Air Seoul will replace Asiana on BKI route (like KE and Jin Air arrangement a while back) or perhaps opening another route in the country. -
So, JT stopped by BKI to pick up passengers or purely tech?
-
Pretty cool...and on a daily basis too... http://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/267781/jin-air-adds-new-boeing-777-routes-in-s16/

Wow, imagine that just half a century ago, such feat was even unthinkable...

Hope more EK flights to KUL and open up routes to other Malaysian cities as well. Malaysia Airlines with that on/off business decisions does not do the country any good overall...
